Budget Right Handyman

Tim called to say he could be 15 minutes early if I was available! I was shocked. I was totally expecting him to say he was running late. I wasn't quite ready for him - so we started at the scheduled time. Tim thought it would take 2-3 hours to install the door. But he did the job in 2.5 hours and also adjusted my balcony door and gave me a tutorial on how to change between the glass and screen doors. Excellent service and clean up!

The deal I purchased was for $79.00 and I had around $25.00 in parts needed. The owner was very responsive and answered all questions that I had regarding the project. I was able to get an appointment right away. The technician, Ken, was very prompt, friendly and did great work.

Ken arrived right on time, reviewed the list of projects and got busy. Took less than two hours to get all of the tasks completed successfully.

Tim was professional and quick in the work he did during our 2 hour Groupon handyman contract. He called twice to let me know he was going to be late. Once leaving a message and then again when I was able to answer. He stripped the old caulking and replaced it with the supplied caulking I requested he use. He figured out the cause of our door lock that had injured my thumb joint! He reinforced the door alignment and then realigned the lock. He had 10 minutes left and asked if there was anything else he could fix! He was able to remove the old lock from a malfitting gate so that I could purchase the necessary parts and looked at the other gate lock to diagnosis it's problem. Tim was very efficient and even removed his shoes when working inside the house!. Very pleased and will have him return!

I had bought an Angie's List deal for 2 hours of work and scheduled an appointment. They were very good about calling back. On the day of the appointment, I got a call asking if it was okay if he could come a bit earlier than scheduled because his last appointment required less time than expected. I was home anyway so I agreed. When he arrived and I showed him the medicine cabinet, the tiles and the utility room, he told me the tile work would require more than the two hours and told me I could buy coupons for $80 that include two hours of work and then discounts for additional work in two hour increments. So I bought them. He fixed the medicine cabinet and I scheduled another appointment for a 4 hour block of time. He arrived right on time on the scheduled day and installed all the tile, moving the washer and dryer. He called me to show me the way the tiles looked around the door frame and I asked if he could saw off the bottom of the frame and slip the tile underneath like the people who had redone my bathroom floor had done it. He said he preferred that but wasn't sure I'd be okay with it. He finished and swept up after himself and made sure I liked what he had done. There was still some time left so I asked if he could plane down the top of a door that was rubbing and he fixed that too. Really nice, pleasant, polite, friendly and professional.

Tim the handyman arrived early and was very professional and curteous. He did a great job and finished right on time. He also had some excellent suggestions (for example, we wanted to mount a desk to the wall so that if our toddler climbs on it, he won't pull it down. Tim suggested we use an anchor vs. the furniture straps we purchased, which were clunky and would have shown). It looked/worked much better with the anchor. We will definitely use them again!

I had purchased the discounted coupon for 2 hours of handyman services from Budget Right. I contacted Dirk to schedule the services I needed, and he was very good at working with me for a date and time, and told me that Tim A. would be working with me. I ordered my new screen door from Lowe's, and when it hadn't arrived 3 days before Tim was to come, I left a message for Dirk that maybe Tim could install my newly painted heating register covers instead (I couldn't get the screws of the new covers to align). Dirk called me right back and said that he would advise Tim of the change. Well, the screen door did arrive the day before my appointment - called Dirk and he assured me that both projects would be completed! Tim arrived, looked at both things to be done, and went right to work. He had to purchase some lumber in order for the door to fit properly, and was very easy-going, professional, and wanted to be sure the door was "perfect" - which was a challenge on a building that was over one hundred years old! It only took Tim about 5 minutes to put the register covers on; he said that simply longer screws would solve the problem - I had gaping holes in my living room for over 8 months and it is now a pleasure to have them gone. The customer reviews on Angie's List about the service and type of work that Budget Right provided was extremely informative, and I found to be true. Dirk and Tim A. were a delight to work with, responded very quickly to my calls, and I am definitely going to work with them again and refer them to others. I am very pleased with everything!

In the end, I have the same amount of work but I'm doing different tasks. This didn't work for me. I think if the things you need done are fairly straight forward a handy man is the way to go. Otherwise I think you may need a general contractor (I haven't had luck with them either).

Task completed to my satisfaction. But can learn how to be more professional in dealing with customers over the phone.

This was a special offer from Angie's LIst for two hours of work from this company for approx. $80.00. We were able to schedule a date for the work to be done within 3 weeks of initially contacting the company. Tim Anderson was the person assigned to complete the work. He was scheduled to come at 3 pm on April 5 and called to say he could come early which was great. Tim carried down our four window ac units from our attic and installed them in record time. He fixed several electrical outlets, caulked the area between the backsplash & sink in the kitchen and installed a light on our garage. . all in record time. I was impressed with how hard he worked and he knew exactly what he was doing. Would absolutely hire this company again . . great job.

Arrived promptly at the time arranged. Offered to take his shoes off because it was snowing outside. He removed the old toilet and carried it out to the alley. Turns out I bought the wrong replacement toilet type and he couldn't install. He described the problem, what was needed and offered to come back the next day free of charge to install the new one. He helped pack up and load it into the car so it could be returned. I bought the kind he recommended (which actually cost less than the original) and he came back out the very next day, helped unload the new toilet and carry it into the house where he installed it quickly and proficiently. He cleaned up the whole area around it. I also wanted advice about several other projects throughout the house and he went through each of them (inside and outside doors, ceiling fan, lowering microwave, etc.) and gave some really good advice as to what to expect in time and money on each of them. Very friendly. Will absolutely ask Budget to come back for my other projects and recommend them to anyone.

Tim, the handyman, was great! He did a wonderful job, was fast, efficient, and made good suggestions for his next visit. We were very happy with Budget Right Handyman, and with Tim, and will use them again soon.

Tim arrived approximately 15 minutes early and called from his car to see if it was ok to start the work early. He knocked every item off the list quickly and efficiently. He was very courteous and was patient with me while I managed my two children. I would definitely use them again!

Tim A. was excellent! He was able to complete so much in 2 hours- it felt like Christmas! He was prompt, hard working, friendly, and very good at what he does. We will be using him again soon!

Tim was actually a few minutes early! The old shutters had been nailed to the brick. The siding above the window had been cut to fit exactly around the shutter. The shutters had to fit in a tight spot. After taking down the first shutter Tim figured out how to hang them without putting holes through the shutters. The job went better than I expected. I'm very happy with the results.

When the old medicine cabinet was removed, he (I think his name was Tim) showed me where the bathroom tile had been cracked. It was concealed because the old medicine cabinet was a little taller than the new one. He suggested that since two strips of mirror were included to be glued onto the sides of the cabinet in the event of a surface mount, that he take one of the strips and glue it over the cracked tile above the medicine cabinet. Also when the two hours wasn't used up, he asked if I had anything else. I couldn't think of anything, so he said "OK well how about if I fix your doorbell?" (It didn't work when he came to the door.) He was great!

I'm very impressed with the company's responsiveness- promptness of returning the contact call. Serviceman was very punctual, professional, a neat and continuous hard worker. He did an excellent job of fitting trim to fit and installation. I wish however I had bought an extra piece of trim, as is common one of the boards minor spit at the top/ it looks great with stain; but next time I'll have extra trim. When worker was done with this great job, he volunteered and sanded down a drywall repair, since there was time remaining on the 2 hour service. Jim was also kind and helpful with consultation with me, for one of my projects. I am very much looking forward to having Budget Right Handyman Services for additional services as soon as their schedule permits.

I would definitely recommend Budget Right and Tim to anyone looking for handyman services. They will be the ones I call if I need help with anything else.

He was good. He took care of things entirely by himself. I spent about $80 for two hours. He was great; he was absolutely wonderful. He called me before coming out. He came out early. I will use his services again in the future.

The handyman, Tim, was punctual and professional. He always asked about my preferences for placement before installing anything. He also offered good suggestions about the job covering somethings about ease of use and asthetics that I had not orginally considered. Overall it was a good expereince from beginning to end. A++

Budget Rite Handyman is by far the best contractor I have ever worked with. Not only was Tim on time, but he was early! I had a list of projects for him to fix or complete and as I showed him the projects, he even noticed that the banister going downstairs was broken and offered to fix the banister. Tim did quality work, was very professional and honest! I am definitely hiring Budget Rite again!!

The guys at Budget Right did a great job. We live in a town-home in Chicago and were looking to remodel our top floor room, which historically did little more than serve as a way to get on to our rooftop deck. The room had an old sink, but no other cabinets. It had wood floors. We wanted to have some cabinets hung, replace the sink and replace the wood floor with ceramic tile. Basically, we were looking to turn the room into good, usable space. Dirk's estimate was accurate. The work Dan and his team did was high quality. Dan even tackled the job of hanging some very heavy artwork from the ceiling of the room. We have a kitchen remodel coming up this spring and will be using them for that project too.
