I originally called Budget Right to get some quotes on electrical and drywall repairs and after meeting with the handy man they sent over, Dan C., decided to use him for a much broader range of repairs and upgrades desired to get my house ready to sell. So far Dan has done a wide variety of plumbing, electrical and carpentry projects and I have been extremely happy with the results to date. Reasonable pricing, simple scheduling process and fast results. If all of their handy men are as astute and easy to work with as Dan, I would certainly recommend this service for just about anything needed inside or outside your home..

My friend is a contractor and was supposed to come by on Saturday the 25th of April and install our new dishwasher. His wife and kids were also going to come by so their eldest daughter could continue her sewing lessons with my wife. On Friday afternoon his wife called and cancelled saying one of her son's play pals had been exposed to the corona virus and now they were in self quarantine. This was the third time he had rescheduled and the new dishwasher had been sitting in my living room since the 15th of April. It was becoming more like a piece of furniture than an appliance. Friday evening I went on-line to Angie's List looking for an installer. In less than 5 minutes of completing the questionnaire Budget Right Handyman called me and we discussed what needed to be done and the terms of their contract. We set up an appointment for noon on 27 April with Ray as the installer. At 12:30 Ray was a no-show. I called the company and asked about Ray's whereabouts. The person who answered the phone was not the same one who I had talked with on Friday evening. He asked to put me on hold to check the schedule, then told me it would be around 2 pm when I could expect Ray. A few minutes later Ray called and said he was on his way. He arrived at 1:40 wearing a mask and trying to keep a social distance. The dishwasher was already uncrated and in the kitchen. My friend had already told me that dishwashers rarely arrive with all the parts needed to install them and you don't know what you need until you see it in person. Ray looked at the connections and said he needed some additional parts. There is a Lowe's 5 minutes away, Ray drove passed it on the way here. As he was leaving, I told him my wife and I would be working in the backyard and to let himself in. I saw him pull into the driveway about fifteen minutes later. About an hour and a half later my wife and I went inside as Ray was doing a test run on the dishwater and cleaning up his work area. We chatted for a few minutes as he explained the cost of the parts and the breakdown of the times on his worksheet. All in all it was worth every penny to get the dishwasher installed. Ray was very pleasant and professional. We would definitely recommend Budget Right HandyMan and would hire them ourselves again!!

I originally contacted Budget Right Handyman to have a Storm Door installed and replace the original door. I provided them with the model and sku# for this installation. During this initial consultation we agreed on two hours for the completion of the job. I was later informed on site, stating that an extra hour will be needed due to Covid -19 lines at Home Depot where the door was purchased. The door was installed incorrectly according to their assessment and their service professional requiring a new door. Thus requiring a new door and 8 hours of Labor and a delay of 2 weeks, After Finally completely the task that was agreed. I contacted Sam the project coordinator to let him know that we were satisfy with the door and explain to him the horrible ordeal and inconvenience we suffered, but their employee Stan did a great job in rectifying the situation and was considering getting the front door completed at a later date we agreed that this issued was resolved and Sam in addition would provide a credit voucher for an hour off of labor for our next service visit. Then the conversation shifted where Sam the owner now as he claims which he now misrepresented himself as the project coordinator as i now discovered stated that there is an outstanding balance for the new door! He expects us to pay for the mistakes they made? There contractor choose the door period!! I provided the price, model number and sku number for the door! their employee Jeff purchased the wrong door and installed it incorrectly. So their resolve as a business is the most unprofessional and most unreasonable act that I have ever heard of!! He wants the contractor Stan to return to our property to remove the door that works spend an additional 4 hours now totaling 12 hours to replace the door that works to correct another mistake! This is totally unexceptionable and unreasonable. This ordeal of errors and cost was based on their mistakes, lack of skill and incompetence!! We asked that they stop harnessing us an consider the matter closed!! This ordeal has taken over 8 hours and 3 weeks for a job that requires only and hour at most! Stop the Harassment as the job is completed and resolved yet Sam (The Owner??Coordinator) insisted that they will come out and remove the door that works because of their mistake! He is willing to pay $280 for Labor and not $120 for the door this is Harassment! Again Harassment Plain and Simple!! Taking advantage of consumers must STOP!! Especially Seniors and Elderly!! This is clear evidence of harassment and trying to take advantage of the consumer where Sam or the Owner of Budget Right Handyman located at 1000 N Taylor , Oak IL 60302 877 5072126 was willing to pay a Total of $840 for 12 hours for their Labor instead of additional $120 for the door THEY Selected!!! Ignoring the door we selected !! This occurred twice! The first time they came out an installed the door on April 24, 2020 and again on May 2, 20220. This was the first time I used the service and it went well.I wasn’t sure about what I needed to get so the technician went to home depot to get what i needed.

Bryan came in right on time. After a quick explanation of the job, Bryan and "his lovely assistant" were done in one hour. They installed supporting strips to make the floor brackets more solid. Didn't have to do that but sure glad they did. I plan to use Budget Right Handyman again!

Not good. The estimation of the work was inaccurate, the quality of the work provided was below average and the Budget Right Handyman associate did not bring the tools to complete the job.
