Budget Right Handyman

Matt came out and hung the door. It was not a slam dunk because the frame was out of plumb, and he also had to cut down the door. He took his time and made thing right. He was very pleasant and certainly knew what he was doing. Matt also cleaned up all the saw dust and left over bits of wood. The door looks great and I would not hesitate to call Budget again.

The handyman was prompt and efficient. We'd purchased a 2 hour big deal and he let us know which projects could be completed within that window, and which we'd need to pay for separately. We were having an issue with our shower handle and he was upfront about the amount of work it would take to fix, as well as that plumbing wasn't his expertise. The things he did do - fixing our sticking shower door, hanging wall items, and installing our glass tile back splash - he did very well. We would rehire him.

This was the second time i have used Budget Right Handyman and I couldn't be happier. The handyman was prompt, efficient, and courteous. He completed the work sooner then expected so we had him move on to another project, which he was able to complete.

I hired Budget Right Handyman to install a ceiling fan, change bulbs for a fixture over a stairway, and fix a leaking faucet. The faucet wasn't leaking when they arrived so we decided not to mess with it. The ceiling fan required a trip to the hardware store, but he didn't charge me for the extra time. The light bulbs were never replaced because first, the service man didn't have the right ladder, then he couldn't reach the light fixture and said that he'd have the company send someone taller over. That never happened. The installation of the ceiling fan was good though, and the service man was professional and prompt - once he was properly equipped. I would probably use the company again.

They charged me an extra $25 since I live outside the service area. My assistant did call ahead to make sure that they could service my address, but I don’t remember them saying they would charge the extra fee to come out until they were already out. I let him know what the work was and asked if he would have all the supplies needed. When the handyman came, he went to the hardware store to get the supplies which was an extra 20- 30 minutes. He had to go pick up a basic screw to screw a banister rail back into the wall. If he would have told me what he needed to go buy, I could have given them one from my husband’s supply. If they were charging me by the job and not by the time, it wouldn’t have mattered that he had to run to the store. When we call the owner assigned a particular handyman and requested that we call him. We then called and called the handyman, but he never answered or returned the calls. We had to call the owner back since the coupon was going to expire. The owner then assigned a different handyman.

They did a fine job. We would use them again in the future.

Fixed the shower, checked a leak, finished putting together a moveable kitchen island, finished putting together a mirror.

I give the individual and the company he represented an A+

Aaron arrived and was super professional and friendly. I directed him to the 4 unopened packages from CB2 and he went right to work putting them together. Then came the super tricky party of hanging all 4 of them straight as in level and evenly spaced--quite a math challenge for creative types like me. Well, luckily Aaron had not trouble with spacing. measuring and hanging them perfectly in the space I wanted!! Great job and will use again.

OK. I think I do better with other handymen who seem more invested in a longer, on-going relationship. This was "meh" -- just ok

I've used Budget Right Handymen twice this year. They have been quick to respond to my calls and flexible on dates. They are very knowledgeable so as you get through your punch list, they will offer advice for other work if needed. I highly recommend them.

It did not go well. The tool that was selected by the handyman from Home Depot rental, happened to be wrong type. I ended up hiring a general contractor to finish the job.

The handyman was friendly and efficent.

Aaron used a new seal to apply under the toilet (he had this item in his truck). He seemed professional stating he has performed this procedure hundreds of times. He charged me for the new seal and another item used to fix a leaky kitchen faucet. I paid the $99.00 (through Angies list) and the $14.50 extra for the items (in cash to Aaron). The bathroom continued to have the same odor for several days so I decided contact a plumber to see if there was a major plumbing problem; I was concerned since I have an older home. I contacted the "The Scottish Plumber" who had previously cleaned a drain recently and did a terrific job. They came out this morning and as soon as he took the toilet off I could visibly see for myself the seal was broken. The plumber informed me it was put on incorrectly. With the holidays so close and friends coming into town tomorrow; I needed to have this done now without waiting. I have placed a call to Dirk the owner this morning and am waiting to hear what he says. I must say I am not happy having to pay for this service twice. With this company being rated so highly...I must say I am disappointed in this kind of work. After experiencing this first hand: call a licensed plumber for work!

I had an excellent experience with Budget Right Handyman. I got the 2 hours for 79 deal and was very happy with it. I had some odds and ends around the house that needed fixing. I was very happy with the service provided. Aaron was very punctual and took pride in his work. He explained everything before actually doing it and did an overall great job for a good price. I would definitely use them again.

It was good. The only issue was that they forgot my initial appointment and we had to reschedule. Otherwise, the work turned out well.

Overall, good quality work was performed, and I would feel comfortable hiring them again. The man made good use of the time he was here and got a dozen or so nagging items off my to do list. I was disappointed that the number one thing on my list was not able to be accomplished because the man was unfamiliar with the task of moving and/or adding a phone and internet connection (I had purchased the parts). When it was apparent he was't super comfortable, we both agreed to let it go since I can't be without a connection if something went haywire. I had used a coupon/promotion via Angie's List and it did not include the information that there is a $25 charge for customers outside Cook County. While I understand the need for the charge, it should have been apparent before I bought online, not when they called to schedule my appointment. Further disconnect was that after I paid online via Angie's, the email address for the service provider was different than Budget Right who ultimately did the work. I found that confusing. Decent communication otherwise.

From beginning to end this was a very good experience; from scheduling the appointment, arrival on time, and very competent work completed and neatly done. We bought the 2-hour coupon for $79.00 and felt it was well worth the money.

Excellent. I recommend the service.

Will not be using services of this company again.

Aaron arrived at my father's home ready to assist with the work I wanted. He helped prioritize the items that needed to be completed and went straight to work. He kept me informed about all his activities and even came up with some really efficient aesthetic solutions! He made sure my exposed home items were protected since we were working in the kitchen. He was friendly and professional and I would definitely work with Aaron and Budget Right Handyman again.
