Budget Right Handyman

Bought coupon and they were available to work soon after. They installed some shelving and did a great job.

Al arrived for work on March 26th., very much on time. Had Budget Right Handyman paperwork on sight, a bit later, I noticed a different name on it from the one given to me by Tim. On arrival, Handyman had announced himself as Al. I asked him to please explain, because it felt uncomfortable, he said that Al was his middle name. The paperwork did not show any. Al started work, he first completed the kitchen cabinet door adjustments and secured the two loose kitchen drawer sides with nails, not very neatly. After checking kitchen, I asked for re-adjustment on one the cabinet doors. He did it quickly and well. He then proceeded to adjust the hanging of the closet doors in my bedroom, hallway and office. In the office he told me that I needed a replacement part for the closet door, he drew it for me, and it was then we started to discuss the next 2 hour work for the Special of $80.00. I accepted, and scheduled work date & time then. I was also told that the pop-up sink topper needed to be extra thin. Al returned to do the work on March 28th., arriving more than an 1 1/2 hour late. He dialed my intercom as he did the first time. Started working by changing my recessed light bulbs in the hallway, broke one of the bulbs as he was replacing it, then worked on the office closet door, he seemed to have a easier time with them than with the hallway's and bedroom. The last item, bathroom pop-u topper: the part I bought was missing a piece essential to hooking up all together, which I had no idea about. Since work could not be done, (only half the new purchased time was used) Al offered without extra charge, to come back another day to complete the sink work replacement, no specific date was set. I bought the missing part the same day and called Al's cell # to possibly expedite the work completion. Reminded him about the 3 tool pieces he had left behind,and that replacement part was ready for him, also requested he let me know when to expect him. It was after this last call, I realized that the name showing from his calls where not the same as in the paperwork or what he told me. Called Tim to verify identity, left message, did not get a response that day, called Tim again on Friday, no response either. I decided to contact Angie's List with this ID issue, got their response today; very reassuring, with useful information on my recourse as a member. ( I'm very new). Called Tim again today, his cell's voice mail was full, tried Al's, left him a message. Did not get response, so, in the afternoon called another # for Tim, this time he answered (his cell phone was stolen), I explained to him my concern, he was courteous, promised to talk to Al and to call me back with an explanation about the 3 different names. Shorty thereafter he did. Tim explained that Al was on a job and does not usually take calls till done. Also said, that he was confident about Al's name and that Al is his middle name. About the third name, he said not to pay any attention to it. In all, the handyman's work was alright, could have been better if I were more knowledgeable of replacement parts names and sizes, since the Handyman did not offer them. It is my opinion he did as much as he knew, without finesse. Al came called this afternoon to tell he was about 4 miles from my home and wanted to replace the pop-up topper for the sink. After he was done, he explained that the pop-up topper will offer very slow drain due to the new part being short, the sink top looked and was closed (so disappointing and frustrating, Al could have mentioned he needed a specific length on the part, I never new there was more than one size). I then asked him to remove the sink pop-up pieces, to leave the sink as it was before, he politely removed only one of the pieces, left the hook up part installed, now I can't take it back to the store for an exchange, don't know how to remove it. My lesson because of my inexperience: it will be best for me to hire specialized experts, even for small jobs, foremost, will request picture ID upon their arrival to do the job. This was a stressful, confusing experience, without clear communication. Not the best experience, sadly.

I am looking for a plumber and have the service with Angie's list to ensure that I get a service worth paying for and the great thing is that they offer deals that makes it worth being a member. Well I found a deal that I figured I couldn't beat to have a handy man for 2 hrs and only pay 79.00 that was great. However, I cannot get in-touch with anyone to schedule the service and no one will return any calls. I have only been able to leave one message as the mail box is n ow saying it is full. I am very upset because not only do I have to find another service provider I have to wait to be refunded my money. This is unacceptable and I am wondering how in the world dis they get so many good reviews.

The handyman arrived on time and had all the tools he needed. He was professional and when I wanted the baseboard tweaked a bit more, he happily complied. He finished our list of tasks with a few minutes to spare. We have already used the company again to install a new ceiling fan for us.

After I reviewed with him the 4 projects I had, he immediately started on one and quickly finished it. He started to work on the second but determined he could not continue without causing damage to a wall. I elected to stop. He quickly dispatched the third and fourth projects. Altogether I thought they would take about 2 hours, the length of the coupon I had purchased. He was finished in 50 minutes! Very pleasant. Very efficient. I had every confidence he knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, he told me he has resigned from the company for another job out of town, and he only had a couple of additional days to work there. They lost a good employee.

He was prompt and pleasant. He did have to go out for parts, which of course eats up time. I was disappointed that he couldn't take care of the electrical issue.

I have a leaky fosset in the bathroom tub. They came out twice. The first time they did an assessment explaining to me that most likly the whole plumming need to be reinstalled but wanted to try putting on a washer first. They tried the washer the 2nd visit but it didn't work. They charge about $40 an hour to replace the fixing but I didn't have them to do the work since I have a supplemental insurance. I wish I did have them do the work because they were reliable and always on time.

The worker came and patched up my siding and also painted some unfinished area of my basement. He tried his best on repairing the cedar siding and the results looked good, even though he took more siding material than I'd liked (as my reserve cedar siding material is very limited), I understood his reasoning. I did not have enough time left in the two hour window to patch up any walls defects that needed speckling and painting, so he used the time left to paint an area that I intended to paint myself. All in all, efficient use of time and the big deal coupon.

We are super impressed with the amount of knowledge that Aaron from Budget Right Handyman has regarding all aspects of our home. He is always prompt and works very efficiently. Aaron has a great attitude and really knows his stuff! We will continue to use Budget Right because it's the only handyman service provider that we trust!

Excellent! Couldn't be more pleased

Aaron arrived promptly on the day I was promised. In fact, it was a Sunday! I had a list of things to install/fix in my home including new blinds, closet shelves, bathroom mirrors, and towel bars. He finished the job in a very reasonable amount of time. Everything was perfect! Aaron was very meticulous about measuring and leveling things to give the work a very professional appearance. I would definitely work with this company again!

He was professional and on time. He was friendly and did what he was supposed to do. He even asked if there was anything else he could do for us.

I bought a coupon and tried to contact the company by phone and email several times and they never responded. Angie's List refunded my purchase.

I called, they answered right away and were able to get Al out the very next day. Al was on time and fantastic. The job he did was a good professional job, everything was cleaned up and at a very affordable price. Due to the weather ( zero) the outside entrance will have to be sealed up in a week or two so the mortar / cement will set. Al is coming back in 2 weeks to do that and rehang a storm door. I also plan to use them for other projects including putting in some interior stairs. Very "can do "attitude . No surprises, no hidden charges, no drama. Great job Al !

We got $80 coupons from Angie's list for 2 hours of handymen services. Matt was a nice guy who knows his job very well. After initial explanation of what needs to be done he quote 3-4 hours of work & that's how exactly it took him to complete the work (3 hours). Also he gave $40 coupon for extra hour of services. He didn't made a mess & try to clean up after his work is done. Very good pricing and I believe people knows what they are doing. Highly recommended.

I was very disappointed. The employee smelt of alcohol and didn't end up doing much work for me. I was not interested in having him do the work.

From start to finish a great experience. I called for an appointment to use the special deal of $79 for 2 hours of handyman service I bought on Angie's list. I was helped with an appointment after we made sure this was work they could do. Aaron was due here today at 8am and was here on the dot. He came back to the garage to look at the situation and assessed it well. He is very bright, clever and a pleasure as well. He went to Home Depot for the material, did the work and I signed off a happy camper. I would ask for Aaron again and use this company.

the handyman showed up 45 minutes late. he did not come with all the supplies needed, so he had to leave and go to a hardware store to get them. luckily he still came in at less than the 2 hrs we paid for with this side trip. he did the work we asked him for well, but he left a garbage bag w/junk in it lying in the hall and did not totally clean up the work areas. this company did what we asked, was honest and reasonably priced, but they could have done a bit better and need to work on punctuality.

The person who came out was terrific, gave me a lot f advise on how to fix things by myself. I actually had gotten him for two hours on an Angie's List especial and he didn't even use the two hours. He was really helpful in those things and he had worked for habitat for humanity, so he's very comfortable to try to help people. I didn't have any complaints at all.

I would not recommend this company. The first handyman they sent did not know how to install standard curtain rods. He spent 30 minutes asking me how I wanted them hung before he tried to drill the first hole. Once he started, he didn't have the right drill bit so he had to run out to his car. He ran back and forth to his car at least four times meanwhile, my two hour service window is rapidly closing. I called his boss and noted my concern. The first guy left. I didn't ask him to. He walked off the job. The manager said he would send someone else -- his best man-- immediately. The highly rated, best repairman came out and I was again, underwhelmed. He installed the curtan rods but did not leave enough space from the wall to attach the decorative end piece. Fail. Then he installed a towel rack in my bathroom that continuously falls down when I remove a towel, Fail. He too ran back and forth to his car because he forgot his drill or needed something. The clock is ticking and that time was not made up. Moreover, he reeked of cigarette smoke. So much so I needed to open windows and spray air freshener after he left. Worst of all, he does not wear underwear and his pants sagged to an obscene level. I do not know how this company came to be recommended on Angie's List. I would never use them again.

Seeing that my previous update to provider never went through, here's another attempt at update: Provider DID finally get back to me and provided good service as I recall.

Al arrived on time on both days, and started working right away. He's got a great attitude, knows what he's doing, and is very friendly, which makes a difference when someone is in the house all day working. Some of the jobs he did were messy by nature, and Al cleaned up everything after each job. He's coming back next week to continue my list. We'd been ignoring the little things that needed to be done because we didn't know who could do so many diverse jobs, so it feels great to have finally found someone I trust who can do just about everything!

We didn't have any issues with Budget Right Handyman. They were fine.

I was very happy with the handyman services provided! Aaron called ahead to see what was on my to-do list. He arrived on time, went out quickly to grab a few last minute materials and accomplished 4/5 things on my list. I will definitely hire Budget Right again and specifically ask for Aaron!
