Budget Right Handyman

The closet door repair, kitchen drawer repair, and patchwork to the holes in the walls was all terrific work. The 2nd closet door, the handyman who was there claimed that it needed to be replaced. The person who was there did a great job with all of the projects.

The worker for Budget showed up late, he was unprepared, and was quite unusually quirky. Furthermore when I called the owner of Budget to express my concern about this worker, he did not return my phone call. Perhaps they were completely overwhelmed with the Coupon deal.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. Changing the door direction is a pretty complex job and they did well.

The Handy Man arrived as scheduled and went to the hardware to obtain the materials needed to do the repair. It was done with professionalism and the screen looks so good after being torn and hanging open by my puppy. I Asked about other jobs in the house and received information on varies things.I give them an outstanding (A) for excellent work and outstanding customer service.

The service guy was nice and hard working. He moved quicly from job to job. He got a lot done. I was pleased with his hard work.

It went very well. It was not an easy job since the room under our kitchen sink is limited. Aaron stuck to it until the job was done correctly. Overall, I was very pleased.

I was unable to use the big deal due to scheduling issues. The company was very polite and professional.

We took this deal only because we are a working family with two small children and we were overwhelmed by the number of projects we had to take on in our new house. In hiring a professional handyman service, I expected to get ingenuity, responsiveness, and efficiency beyond what that of my husband (who is not a professional handyman). I did not get any of those things. The handyman's response to each item my husband showed him was something along the lines of, "Oh, that's a little complicated" or "That's going to take a long time." Not only did he not complete the minimum of what we expected, he chipped a few small tiles in the bathroom floor and didn't even clean up the shards. A good number of the tiles are chipped. I probably would never have even noticed if I didn't have to clean up after him myself. This was a very mediocre experience.

It went well. He as on time and did the projects that I required. I purchased a Angie's Big Deal and this is the second time I have used them.

One gentleman came out to install them . He was very nice an on-time but unfortunately the ceiling fan is making noise. They came out a second time and it is still making noise.

Very well, better than expected. individual was punctual on time; completed list within the time purchased. I wish I would have purchased more at the time. once I get my to list finished or started, I definitely will be requesting this company again.

Aaron was great. He came and explained what the issues were. He went to the hardware store to get supplies and fixed the issues.

Got into these guys through a promotion and the handyman that came out to help us out was fantastic. The deal is great and the quality of work even better. Definetly will call again; even when the deal expires.

We've used Matt as our handyman the past couple of times. He has done a nice job and is very professional. I would use him again. We did not have a great experience with the first handyman that we used from the company but Matt has done an excellent job of service recovery and the owner/scheduler worked with us to give us a couple hours of free handy man work time to make up for the first experience. 2 things to be aware of: 1. The handyman are booked for blocks of time. If a project is unfinished, you will need to call the office and reschedule for another visit. There is no guarantee that the next service call will be the following day because of scheduling. You are better off having a smaller to do list and be clear not to start a new thing on the list if towards the end of the service call. Save it for another visit. 2. Also, try to have all supplies, materials on hand. The handyman bring their tool kits but if they have to run over to Home Depot or similar, this is running against your scheduled block of time.

Ken came to my house to perform the service for Budget Right. He called me ahead of time to negotiate the time he was going to arrive and promptly showed up within 1 minute of the time he agreed upon. I had already purchased materials, but found out that I bought the wrong cement. I ran to the home depot to get the correct stuff while he worked in my yard. I was gone only a half hour and he was already done clearing the old post and concrete, digging the hole, and prepping the area for the new Post! SUPER FAST! I helped hold the post while he poured the concrete and he finished hanging the fence sections. Afterwards he gave me coupons to have more service done at only $50/hr. (something I will gladly use in the future) I definitely recommend these guys to anyone looking to have work done around their house.

I wasn't happy with Budget Right Handyman. Actually, the person who came first spent about six hours and he hardly did anything. He spent most of his time over the phone and getting tools. He was very rude. I informed his manager about what happened. This person had another story to tell him that we didn't have the right tools. That person said that he would send somebody else to us. The second time, the person who came was good.He worked fast. I had this other work done by somebody else because he couldn't send him to me earlier. I am not satisfied with them at all. When I called, he told me as long as I have my materials ready, it should be done within two hours. We told him to take a look at what we bought if he could be able to install it. He said "Yes, no problem at all." He said that we needed to move the cabinet here and so many changes there. That was like so much work. We said we don't like to make changes there like moving the mirror and changing the water connection. Just for discussion and measurement, it took him two hours and he disappeared. He spoke so much. He is a talker. He kept on talking and talking. He wasted so much time. All these time we spent on how to resolve and what to do, that was two to three hours. My vanity sink is still the same. I could not have it replaced. The owner of the company was understanding. He did try to resolve it. The second person who came was the best.

no clue... they are booked for months -- dont touch these deals!

Ken has been out twice to help us with repairs. He does a great job. The first time, I scheduled him for a Saturday. He called about 1/2 hour before his scheduled arrival time and asked if would be ok if he was about an hour late because he was delayed with an unexpected plumbing issue where is was working. I said that was fine. He called back about an hour later, apologized profusely, and said the plumbing issue was very serious and he couldn't leave the customer he was helping stranded. He offered to come out the next morning, Father's Day, to make our repairs. While it would have been ideal for Ken to have come at the scheduled time on Saturday, I realize these things happen and we have to all work together when they do. Also, it demonstrated that Ken wouldn't leave my house if I had a serious problem to go to another call. Ken arrived promptly on Father's Day morning and installed our basement molding. We had him come back the following Wednesday to caulk our foundation. Again, he showed up promptly and did a great job. He also cleared a bathroom drain that was draining slowly because the caulking didn't take him the whole 2 hours. Finally, he helped trouble-shoot a problem we had with the plumbing in our kitchen and this was after we paid him --- he stayed and helped on his own time. Thanks Ken!

The handyman Ivan was very professional and punctual for his 8:00 am start time. I presented my list of the 4 items for the (Handyman's 2 hours for 78.00 Angies list deal) After reviewing the list Ivan stated he wouldn't be able to install the mail slot because it was going to go on a stucco wall and it would crack. I understood his companies policy and asked that he start with the utility tub. There were a few items he needed to get at the store but I said I'd go get them because he's on the clock and asked him to do one of the other jobs. I went to Home Depot to get the materials needed and he secured the wine rack (with two heavy duty anchors and two screws). After he was done with the tub it was about 10:00 and I said we have to watch the clock but he then started on hanging the pictures up. Now it's 10:30 and he presents some coupons and the bill. He asked if I paid through Angie's list. I said no I was told to pay the vendor. Well the vendor's cost was 80.00 for the first two hour (no big deal....$2.00 more) but mtheir charge is $90.00 for the next two hours. Because it was two and a half hours I would have to pay for an hour over because they don't have half hours charges (which is rediculous, if you have an hourly rate you should be able to divide that in half for half the time). I was not happy about this at all. I asked Ivan why he didn't say something at 10:00....like your two hours are up. I can continue to hang these pictures and this will be the cost to you or not. Well it turns out his boss put me down for a 4 (four) hour job not a (2) two hour job that I asked for. So I asked him.... "so you're thinking you have four hours to complete these three tasks" and he said yes. I'm sure if he knew it was 2 hours he would have been able to get the three tasks done in the alotted time. I paid the extra money because it wasn't Ivan's fault and there was really nothing he could do about it anyway. I had another appointment and didn't have time to discuss this issue with Ivan or Tim at the time. When I called Budget Right to set this (deal) up I told Tim I was calling about the 2 hour handyman for $78.00. I went over the list of 4 things and asked if he thought this could be done and he said yes. I don't think this was a fair deal at all because in the end I landed up paying over $40.00 extra to have the (third task) which was two little pictures hung. I did call Tim back regarding this issue to no satisfaction. He said I was suppose to purchase the voucher from Angies list, which I didn't know.....I was told to pay the vendor. I believe I was overcharged for this service.

He was punctual and was able to finish it on the time that I purchased. He cleaned up after himself. He made suggestions on how to maintain the fixtures and even gave me a card for me to call him in case the fixtures would break down or they weren't the best quality expected.

This is the 7th time since January that I've used Budget Right Handyman to fix a variety of things around the house. Each time Aaron V. has been our handyman, and he's the best handyman we've ever had. The job is always extremely well done, and he always goes above and beyond what is asked of him. So far he has put down a new floor in the kitchen, installed new faucets in two bathrooms, changed a ballast in a ceiling lighting fixture, put up new vertical blinds in the kitchen, bought and planted a plant in front, built new stairs on the deck, and more. He always gives close attention to detail, has great ideas, and offers a complete explanation of what he is doing. I highly recommend his services, and will continue to use him in the future!

.I liked Ken who tried very hard to undo poor work done by previous owners with my bathtub faucet and plumbing. Ken had to make four trips to Home Depot and even fought on my behalf for missing screws/parts in the box for the faucet pieces. Still working on things but, so far I like Ken a lot. Some things are going to require another try, but I believe Ken to be honest and will work through them

The work was really good. It took longer than expected and a couple of trips had to be made to the hardware store. The multiple trips to the store ate into a time of the coupon but I guess that is going to happen from time to time.

Communication at first was a little frustrating. Emails weren't responded to and at first they were hard to get by phone. Once we figured out email was not the best form of communication, the process went much smoother. Estimate was given on first visit and they got the work done within the estimated cost. They were great to work with in that we had to change the timing of the project more than once. They worked with us to reschedule, showed up when they said they would and completed the job within the time frame estimated. Work was done with a minimal mess being made.
