Budget Right Handyman

Nick was early and explained thoroughly what needed to be done after accessing the situation. Nick also showed me how to tighten and align the doors so I can perform the job myself in the future. Also, looked at other jobs for the future and provided reasonable quotes. Definitely would use Budget Right Handyman and Nick for future projects or repairs.

The work was performed for my mother. The service search the neighborhood to find a spot to put in from of my mom's house, but could not find one, and did not charge her. I ordered the spot light and the service tech came back to install it. Problem, spot light would not shut off, so he returned at no extra charge to reset it. I was so impressed with their service, I called the owner to inform him I would I send extra.

For the most part it was actually great. I did the big deal thing and i got two hours of handyman services for the price of one. I called ahead and short of told them what my list of things that I wanted done and they said that they could do most of them I believe and he came out. At first I will say that he was a little late and the only thing that sort of bugged me which was at the end was I had said one of the jobs was that I needed my washing machine to be connected to my water line because I did not have hoses for it and when he came he had to go to Home Depot and buy the hoses. He did not come with them even though I had already mentioned it. I will say that he did all of the jobs I asked for and I ended up with him being here and coming back at probably and he spent like two hours and 40 minutes on quote on quote my job but did charge me for the extra time. So even though it was technically only for two hours in took into consideration the fact that when he want to go buy stuff, it did not count in the two hours. But everything I wanted to be looked at was looked at. In fact one of the task was to get the water line connected to my washing machine and for some strange reason the people who fixed it before plugged it with actual stoppers and he figured that out and said he had never seen it before so i was very happy with it. It was just minor things so that was the only thing I could say. But I am happy i did it and I would totally do it again if I needed to.

He was very professional - arrived on time and went right to work. He was knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. We will definitely be using him again.

I purchased the 2 hours of service coupon for $80.00 off of Angie's List to try out this handyman service. Aaron from Budget arrived and I showed him two small jobs that I wanted completed one of which was replacing a toilet paper fixture. I had explained to the person on the phone taking the order that there was a small hole in the wall that would need to be patched up, so I expected the handyman to arrive prepared to start working. He told me that although he had been aware of this hole, their policy is to assess the situation and then go to the store which would be part of my two hours of service. When I questioned their policy since this would significantly cut into the two hours that I already paid for and he probably wouldn't have time to fix the two small items on my list (regular rates are $98/hourly). He then said that he was not going to do anything then and that I should get my money back before he promptly walked out. This company's sole purpose is to milk customers for their money. He was quoting huge amounts of time to replace a bathtub faucet and the fact that he had to buy puddy when the I told them ahead of time that there was a small hole to be fixed seemed unreasonable. I am/was in the market for a handyman service that I could use on a regular basis, but this service is extremely unprofessional and the fact that they are marketing themselves as "budget" handyman is almost funny if it wasn't so frustrating.

Work was done quickly and professionally, Brad was friendly and considerate (very nice to our barky dog!), and everything was cleaned up completely.

The day before the service was scheduled, Ivan called me to let me know the name of the man who would be doing the work and the time he would be arriving. On the day of the job, Aaron called to let me know he was running a little early and if it would be ok if he came by an hour earlier than scheduled, which was fine. I needed some brackets removed from previous shelving to accommodate the new unit, and gave Aaron the written instructions for installation. He also had to move my husband's Harley to another area of the garage, (which I had told Ivan about ) and he was fine with that. He got to work right away, removing the brackets, taking the shelving units out of the packing boxes and thoroughly going over the directions. This took some time, and then he began checking for the ceiling joists to start the install. After several attempts he came to me and said that our ceiling joists were metal, and the unit could not be installed properly with the lag screws and be safe - it would not hold properly. Aaron had me call the company to double-check and they verified what he had told me. They advised me to return the unit to Cosco for a refund. Aaron re-boxed everything, secured it with packing tape, and then loaded the heavy units into my car for me. He then cleaned up the garage from removing the brackets. Unfortunately, all this had eaten up most of his 2 hours of service. Aaron felt awful that he had not accomplished the job for me (which was to be a surprise for my husband) and apologized several times. I reassured him that it wasn't anyone's fault; it just didn't work out. Despite the fact that the initial job didn't get done, I was very pleased with Budget Right Handyman, their thoroughness and commitment to doing a job right. I would definitely use their service again, hopefully successfully next time!

NEVER STARTED THE JOB!!! Contacted budget right to come out and fix the trim on a recently purchased house where raccoons had chewed. Initially spoke to Matt. He asked me to send him pics which I did. After looking at the pics he took the job. Well the day they were due to come out the person doing job had car trouble. So they rescheduled for later in the week. So the day before I didn't get a courtesy call. Since I don't live at the probably refused to go there without confirmation someone would be there. Finally Nick calls me and says he's there. I go to the property showed Nick the job and he responded he could handle. So I told him that Mike mentioned that I could get an estimate on other jobs. So I did. Nick told me that they could handle the work. So he said he was ready to get started he needed supplies from Home Depot. He would go and come back. I asked how did he want to handle the pAyment and did they take checks. He said yes and left to go to Home Depot. I waited and he NEVER returned. I call Matt and he referred me to Tim. The big boss. Tim called me back asked me to explain the issue. He then explained that Nick told a different story about me refusing to pay. He lied and I asked Tim not to send Nick back. He told me upon further research he would call me back. He never called and the work is still uncomplete.

They fixed a loose window frame, a broken cabinet, a loose dishwasher, and a few other things. The first appointment was rescheduled because of traffic and bad weather. The worker was nice. The only negative thing I would say is that he did not followup with another visit as promised, so one item still needs to be fixed.

I needed to have window fixed. Big Deal page included review reguarding fixing windows, so I bought the deal. Provider initally took my information and said he would talk to their "window guy." Then called back to say they did not do that kind of work. Strange!

Arrived on time, actually a few minutes early. Asked to look at all the work to be done and then made a start straight away. Was very helpful with ideas on how to do some of the tasks. Worked very quickly and was tidy. Finished the work in less than the time given and asked if I could find any other jobs to be done. Very happy with the work completed.

He was prompt and polite. He seemed to take his time and did a good job. The price was reasonable.

Need interior door patched and re-stained. Has small dent (hallow door) near the bottom. The scheduler person on phone (name=Matt) was very disorganized. He did not tell the handyman what the scope of work was before he arrived. The person who came to my house was a 3rd party and not employee of Budget Right Handyman. I was charged $94.00 for two hours of service, but less than 45minutes of work were performed. Then they charged me an extra $25.00 for driving time, even though my home is close proximity to 3rd party contractors home. I contacted Budget Right Handyman via Angie's List email, but have not received a reply yet.

Very impressed with the service of David. I had odd jobs that needed to be done that were put off way too long. I had carpet removed but the seam binders were left with carpet underneath at two doorways. David resolved the problem and work looks so professional. I am happy and relieved. Finally have my beautiful light fixture hung. Been in the box for a couple years. Will definitely call for service again. Well worth the price. David cleaned up and took the dust with him. All in two hours.

We've used a number of handymen in the past few years and Aaron from Budget Right is by far the best we've ever used. He's extremely efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and competent. He can do anything. He's always very helpful. The estimate was right on and he ended up doing everything in less time than anticipated. We've already recommended him to a number of friends and have already been keeping a list of things that we want him to come back and fix in the future. Budget Right is always great to deal with as well. They are very responsive.

He was good. We recently got a four seasons air conditioning and I asked him if he could change the thermostat because they didn't change the thermostat, but he didn't know how to set it but he did change it. So i don't know maybe i was expecting him to set it to but he didn't. Then I asked him to do just a couple of handyman things like fix the door downstairs and actually that was really good because he had to leave and got get a cork from ace and come back and fix it and so that was really great because i had the things down there awhile. So he was really good. I paid an additional price for the little piece he had to get to fix the door, and he brought me the receipt so that was it. The one thing that bothered me, I don't know if it would bother anybody else, so i don't even know if I should say it. But his work bucket, the bucket that he has all of his tools in, it was not dirty on the bottom but he set it on my rug. As soon as i mentioned it he moved it. I mean it bothered me because I don't want you to put your bucket on my silk rug. But in terms of like when he fixed, because he fixed something else, I can't remember what it was but he definitely cleaned up after himself.

Arrived on time. Assesed the rools he needed and brought in a very large ladder not damaging anything. Measured and then went about the task of hanging these pictures - large rectangle B&W photos of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc d Triomphe.

Everything went extremely well. Ivan knew exactly what to do. Due to the way our ceiling fans were installed (by someone else), Ivan had to remove 2 fans from the ceiling, correct the issue with how the fans were sitting, then balance one of them. He did an excellent job. He even drove to get a new switch plate for one of our panels. Everything was done in 2 hours. I will definitely use them again for work we need done around our house.

They removed two heavy air conditioners and replaced one broken and one missing window.

Did a fine job

I was impressed with how quickly Budget Right called me back when I first called them and left a message. However, he quoted me $184 for the job. That was $92 per visit. One visit to remove the window and take it to Remodelers Supply Center to replace the glass and one to bring the window back and put the window back up. That was too expensive so I didn't have him do it. Instead I went with Fix It Handyman (who I found on Angies List). He charged me $20 to remove the window. It took him about 7 minutes to remove the blind and get the window out and safely wrapped up and into the trunk of my car. I took it to the hardware store myself and paid $20 for new glass and can put the window back up myself. $40 instead of $184. But, if I have a big job I will consider using Budget in the future.

The agreement was for the guy to come in and do the work for a set rate. The gave me two different prices. The guy came in this morning and convinced me that it woule be a bad idea to plug the cable into the wall and said there would be no point to drill a hole in the wall if the cable was going to be on the floor. We brainstormed different ways to run the cable in. I asked him if we could move the outlet so we the cable could not be seen. He told me that if we move it, it would require painting the whole wall, removing the trim, and repainting the whole wall. He told me this would cost an additional $5-600.00. I finally agreed to do it is way. He told me I was crazy because I didn't want my cable to show. I talked to an electrician later and told me that to move an outlet would not take any of the work that he told me it would take. They told me he was just trying to scare me. They said I would not have to take the trim off or repaint the whole wall. I called the supervisor and told him this and told him what his employee told me. He still told me the same thing saying that they would have to remove everything from the wall.

Not only did the handyman do what I asked, he also found other places that need grout and did those, too! Very professional job, some cleanup after the grout dried left to me, which is entirely understandable.
