Budget Right Handyman

The serviceman that came to my house was fantastic. He had all the tools he needed, he was neat, he listened to what I wanted done, he finished much more quickly than I expected (I had been told by another handyman that this installation would take 2 hours plus and it too him less than 20 minutes!) He asked what else he could do and did a nice job on the other items, too.

It was not so good. One of the things I had asked to have done is to fix the toilet. To take the toilet up, they have to put a new ring in and he said he can do that. I just need to go out and buy that which I did. When he came out, he said it doesn’t really need that and I can just take those back. Two days later, the toilet is still having a leak. He was supposed to get back to me on other things that I wanted done and he never did. I wasn’t too happy with it. I’m not sure the Big Deals are worthwhile. It wouldn’t have been a bad price if the work had been done.

I put off writing this review, because I really dislike giving bad reviews of a company. It took place about a year ago, so I can not remember the handyman's name. I purchased a deal on Angie's List for $79 for two hours. He let me know up front that he probably would need more than the two hours, which was fine with me. We had some plumbing underneath the sink that needed to be shifted from a right position to the center. The handyman did this work for us, but I am guessing he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. (When I called the company prior to this, they said that they could do plumbing work) He took several trips to Home Depot during the work time and admitted to me that he was asking people in the aisles how he could fix our sink the right way - apparently it was an unconventional setup. What I ended up with was a nice vanity top (installed properly), some crazy pipes underneath the sink that do not allow for much storage, and a faucet that the handles were installed improperly. I asked him about the faucet because it looked like it was installed wrong. He said that it was the only way he could do it (maybe because of the pipes underneath -- I really have no idea) We have to turn it on by pushing the handles from the center to the right or left - instead of turning the handles in towards the faucet. So, I am living with a wonky faucet now. I'm guessing a plumber would have done a much better job. By the time it was over, I ended up spending an additional $200+ above my deal...I'm guessing a plumber would have charged a similar amount.

I purchased a Big Deal for $79 for a handyman for two hours. Everything went well, but the ceiling fan makes a clicking noise when it is on. We called and left a message for him to come back and fix it but there has been no response.

They replaced a steel, exterior door. The service was fine, I was happy with it.

They didn't finish the work. I called them many times with their different phone numbers but I never heard back.

I was very happy with the work at the time and now 9 months later it has all held up. I highly recommend.

I was happy with them. They were good. They were professional, quick, and skilled. They were prompt, on time, they were of low fees, I paid for 2 hours and they used those 2 hours. I found the price a good deal.

On time. Reliable. Friendly. A bit unorganized (e.g. paint missing at t the right time). Bad mud job (the worst I have ever seen).

The gentleman was prompt, even a bit early. Very courteous as well. Did a good job installing light and fans

Everything went well. They did however mix up the schedule for the service.

After I purchased the deal, they never called me. I had needed someone within a week to do the work and Angie’s List promised that they would be able to do the work within that time. Because the work was not done on time, I was fined by my village. I tried to get a refund for the deal, but I never received it. Angie’s List did reach out to the company and after the company was contacted, they scheduled the appointment and the work they did was good. I think the issue was with Angie’s List and not with the company themselves.

The service man arrived on time and stared the job. He assess the scope of the job and we went over the materials that will be needed. At the end of the job we went through the receipts and labor hours and I paid accordingly. I was happy with the service.

He didn't have some supplies, so some of the time was spent going to the hardware store. I thought he would have some of the basics.

I called to get some handman work done (fix a garage entry door) and check a plumbing leak (that I thought was coming from my toilet). The garage door work was excellent. The plumbing leak was tricky. The leak was originally thought to be coming from the toilet. The gentleman replaced the wax ring on the toilet. The leak continued. I called Budget Right and let them know and they said I would need to replace the toilet. I bought a new toilet and Budget Right replaced it (for another fee - I believe it was another $79). As the gentleman was leaving, we still noticed leaking. It turns out the leakage was coming from a radiator above the bathroom. I had to call out an HVAC professional to fix the radiator leak. I definitely recommend using this service for handyman work (e.g., to do lists around the house). They are great in that area. Although, they provide "plumbing" services, I probably would not use them for "complex" plumbing work (unless they offer a certified plumber). To be fair: my toilet / HVAC problem was a tricky problem and I believe the guy from Budget Right did the best he could. He was friendly, professional and hard working.

Today was a great day. I started out with David, from Budget Right Hanyman service coming to my condo to install my kitchen faucet. He was prompt, professional, and friendly. The repair went so smoothly, that I almost forgot that he was here. I needed a part to complete the work. David left and returned and still completed the work within the scheduled 2-hour window. He provided helpful hints and even cleaned up the area after he was done! What a way to start out my week. It doesn't get any better than the experience I had today. I am looking forward to having Budget Right Handyman perform all my home repairs. Thanks so much again, David - you are the best!

The service turned out great. It was a little bit of a wait for the service and I have attempted to use them since and they always have a two to three week waiting period. They are fantastic to work with. They were at my home 30 minutes extra and they waived the charge for the additional time. They are extremely nice and they are very professional to work with. They ask what is needed and they come and make an assessment and then they go and purchase the materials and then come back to do the work. They did all of that within the two hour time frame. You could tell he was in a rush with other appointments and he wanted to be as efficient as possible with the work.

Great job! They returned my call and scheduled the work quickly. Rumis arrived on time completed both jobs and cleaned up. Will definitely use again.

Work was professional. The handyman showed me choices for finishes by emailing pictures from the hardware store. The job cost less than estimated. This was a great experience. Would definitely use again.

I called Budget Right Handymen after a break-in at my rental building. Scheduling service was quick and easy with the home office. Juan showed up on time and ready to work. I needed a variety of things done including installing a new door, new locks, reinforcing several entries and installing safety plexiglass. All work was done expertly. As for Juan - he was the best handyman I have ever worked with. Juan was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable about anything that needed to be done. Above and beyond that, he was genuinely concerned about helping me ensure that my place was secure after the break-in. Cannot say enough about my experience with Juan and how great it was working with him.

They just installed a ceiling fan. They finished in about an hour. They did never call me back on the same day I called, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

The sidewalk in front of our condo expanded due to the extreme cold this winter. The swelling caused our front gate to only open about 1/3 of the way. Budget Right sent a guy out and he shaved a small amount from the bottom of our iron gate. Problem solved in no time.
