Budget Right Handyman

The gentleman who came out assumed the height incorrectly on the screens that I needed replaced, so he had to come back and adjust that. It was an inconvenience for the screen repair, but he did come back and fix that today. The screen in one of the doors is still sagging. He also installed some under cabinet lighting, and I can't get it to turn on. He says that he doesn't understand what the problem is, but he guessed it was a wiring issues. I don't agree with that recommendation and asked him to remove the lighting and not charge me for them. The Big Deal that I purchased was for 4 hours of service, but they only gave me 3 hours of service. I asked him about the additional hour, and he said that they can't come back out for just one hour. He asked me to pay $55 for an hour of service, although the reasoning behind that is unclear to me. They did not clean up their work area, there are wood shavings everywhere.

This provider was very nice and helpful.

Alberto was incredible. He was eager to do whatever I needed done and took great care to do an excellent job. He takes great pride in his work and is very talented. I will definitely be calling him again! Its nice to have someone you can trust to take care of all of the fine details when you move into a new home. He's definitely going on my speed dial.

It went very well. Our guy arrived early, got straight to work, did a nice, clean job, and cleaned up right after he was done. Nice job. We will definitely use them again.

The handyman provided was very knowledgeable and was able to move through my "to do list" very quickly. He was down to earth, efficient and honest when I asked his opinion on other work which was out of his area of expertise.

Mike & Cooper were prompt, professional and highly skilled. We are very pleased with the work performed and plan to have them back to do more in the near future.

They used indoor wood, not for outside. on window. Used white calk on dark wood and it was very hard to paint the dark brown color it should have been. Very shoddy materials for an outside job.

I was thrilled to have use this service. I had them come out twice to fix a bunch of small things as I get my home ready to sell. The handyman came on time, he talked me through what he was going to do, why it had gone wrong in the first place, and gave me different options for how to fix things when appropriate. I would absolutely use them again.

The kitchen cabinet drawer had not been working properly for years. I think it was off the runners, but I got used to it until the drawer literally fell apart from my miss use. I knew that it should cost around $100, but was not sure with today's prices. I tried other sites and they couldn't help me as the job was too small. Budget Right Handyman, from Angies list called me right away, they told me it would be about a week before they could come out, and I was allowed to pick the day and time. He arrived early. Looked at the drawer, took it out to his truck to fix. Brought it back in glued and screwed back together, it had previously just been nailed together, checked the inside runner, and replaced the drawer in perfect looking and working order. It only took him about a half hour. No muss, no fuss! He asked if there was anything else that I needed done, and there wasn't, so I got the bill, wrote the check for $110, which was their minimum job, and got a fridge stick up for future use. Quick, easy, well done. Perfect! I'm so happy I now have a Handyman!

It was okay, average. He charged me $25 extra for travel charge. They fixed the doors that was average and I really wanted them to fix a filter on my kitchen sink and they couldn't put it on there. He did and had to take it out, it wasn't working right. And there's a piece left up here, he was supposed to take out and it's still here.

Spoke with someone via email explaining the drywall work I needed done. Sent pics and lots of details and they told me how long they estimated the work to take. They said while the drywall was drying they could hang two chandeliers. When the guy got there he had an attitude right off the bat. Not very pleasant. Put one coat of drywall on and hung the two chandeliers then started complaining that they were a "pain in the a**" and he didn't / couldn't want/to finish the drywall. Tried arguing with me for about ten minutes that because he was there five minutes past the "end" time that I owed him another hour. Um, no. I sent a message to the owner a few weeks later and they said they would "follow up" with me. A month or so goes by and I send another message a few days ago, to which I got a follow up phone call yesterday. The owner could not have been more argumentative or rude if he wanted. I give his "business" another year tops the way he treats people. He was arguing with me about the drywall, then he said if they were to come out and finish it "you do know you would pay for this right?" Then when I told him it was rude for his employee to call my chandeliers a pain in the a**, and that if he doesn't like what he does then he should do something else, he took like a twenty second pause and then very condescendingly said "Thanks for your advice." This company is a JOKE!! DO NOT hire them! He will probably respond or send another argumentative response!

Dave is excellent!! Not only is he knowledgeable, he is an extremely hard worker who is not only prompt and professional, but efficient but effective. We had so much work to be done that we happily scheduled 15 extra hours in addition to the 2 Hour Deal and the work was accomplished over the course of three days. We would highly recommend this company and this contractor and would definitely do business with them again.

He was very rude when communicating with me. He wasted my time when I had just a few days. He was not willing to listen to what my need was and he talked over me. I wanted tile laid he asked for a picture and saw my peel off tile and assumed that is what I wanted and stated it would be three hours. It does not take that long. I wanted him to put down tile and he then said that I did not want the job done and he did not want to do the job and hung up from me. I had sent him a picture on his request, it took several days to go back and forth with him via email instead of coming out and doing estimate and telling me what supplies are needed for the job I need completed.

It turned out fine. They honored the "Bid Deal". He was very conscientious about what he was doing.

The person was not able to accomplish the repair because the window would need to be removed to correct the problem and a single person could not remove an 4th floor window. The person was able to identify the problem.

Matt responded within a day to my phone call. We just wanted the drywall replaced where the ceiling damage was as we already had a painter lined up. I texted Matt a picture of the damage and he gave me a fair estimate over the phone. Alberto showed up on time and his work was meticulous. The drywall looked perfect when he was done. He removed all the debris. He swept up all the plaster dust and brought a feather duster to use on the furniture. The job took him about 6 hours. Our painter did the final skim coat, sanding and painting. We were very happy with the results and we would hire Budget Right Handyman again.

The caulking of the tub is the worst I have ever seen. I contacted the office to report the unacceptable work and a man answered identifying himself as Tim and a manager. He assured me that the caulking job would be redone at no cost to me. He also asked me to forward the pictures I had taken of the caulking work to his cell phone. The manager has not contacted me to confirm he received the pictures or to schedule the caulking work to be redone. I sent an E: Mail to the company through Angie's List indicating that I did not receive a confirmation from the manager that he received the pictures. Matt responded to my E: Mail stating that he would remind the manager again about the need to schedule the corrective work. As of July 24, 2015 I have not been contacted to schedule the caulking work to be redone. I provided the handyman directions for the installation of the mailbox which indicated that three anchors suitable for brick were to be installed through the three predrilled holes in the mailbox. The handyman installed one anchor but the mailbox appears to be adequately secured to the wall. After his installation, the handyman did not clean the brick dust off of the mailbox.

Two emails and three phone calls and still no response. After the first email I confirmed that I wanted to schedule the job and then Matt stopped responding.

Just fine. Aaron was Knowlegeable, personable, professional.

July 9: Alberto arrived on time, worked hard and well, and repaired our walls. The tile in the utility room that needed replacing was 60 years old, and Alberto did a creative job of finding a suitable color, and cutting and fitting the odd space left after a plumbing project from some time ago. Grade A. July 22: Dave had a long drive, ran into traffic, but called before he was due to let me know he'd be late, a courtesy we appreciated. He was a tornado of activity, planing and adjusting interior and exterior doors, touching up the paintwork if necessary; replacng one of the tiles from Alberto that had cracked under heavy traffic over the two weeks; moving a painting on the family room wall and removing old telephone wiring from that room. Grade A+. July 23: Steve arrived on time, and applied his cheerful attitude and knowledge and muscles to moving furniture in the office, including moving the TV and cable box across the room; installing new power strips (and remounting existing ones) and generally neatening up the mare's nest that was 15 years of cable and wire accretion. Throughout, he moved file cabinets and a hope chest down to the sub-basement, and completed his four hours by moving almost everything in the sub-basement away from the walls. Terrific work. Grade A+. Budget Right Handyman is a wonderful resource that I will cheerfully engage in the future.

I didn't realize that the work is only going to take about half an hour and so I had to pay for 2 hours. It was satisfactory. I would use the provider in the future, but I certainly wouldn't buy the 2-hour deal the way I did.
