Budget Right Handyman

I am very pleased with the results. Pete worked efficiently and cleaned area. .He gave worthwhile advice as well.

I'm satisfied. The door is aligned and functions as it should. The handyman was prompt, professional and effective.

Steve showed up on time and got right to work. I was afraid with this buying a 2 hour deal "something" would go wrong and run over. Well something did go wrong in that Steve was locked out of one of his tool boxes in truck so did not have correct drill bit. I let him know nearest hardware store and off he went. They did not have exactly what he needed but he made it work. Not a single mention of overtime, not a single complaint of having to go fetch a bit, nothing but friendliness and professionalism out of Steve. Possibly the only drawback was the fact there was a $25 charge for coming to my area which was not on Angie's list but I did see on their website they worked Cook County so when they told me right up front before making appointment I was not too surprised. Work was done expertly and paperwork was smooth (I had to remind Steve I owed him the extra $25!) That is how focused he was on the job and pleasing the customer instead of racking up the bill!

The picture hanging was fine. Took longer than I expected. I walked off and left pictures on the floor in front of where I wanted them hung. He didn't do one in the basement that I caught before he left and he did it in less than 10 min. After he left I noted two of the bathroom pictures were also not done. Lastly, he didn't clean up very well considering the small amount to be cleaned up. For someone who does this type of work for a living seems it should have very easy and straight forward seeing none were hung over head, on high walls etc.

I haven't heard any complaints so it must have gone well. And now I won't have to see that darn "Please rate" reminder every time I open the list! :-) Sorry I can't be more specific but I also could't find any other way to lose the reminder!

ning was a little shy of what was needed. I finished the job myself later.Numerous problems. 2 reschedules. A contractor who did not arrive with a planer - clearly requested when describing the job. The worker then spent a very long time "analizig the job and trying to convince me that what was requested was not the right thing to do. It became clear this "handyman" was not competent. Eventually with weeks delay the supervisor came out and with my assistance the job was done within 2 hours. Unfortunately the planing was a bit shy of what was needed and later i redid the job myself. A hassle from beginning to end. PS Never again!

A bit late but she called and I wasn't inconvenienced so it didn't matter.

Did poor job on recaulking shower area. After waiting 24 hours for the caulking to dry, the water continued to leak during showers. After complained to Matt about the problem, Maureo, the man who did the job returned to finish recaulking but I had to stand by to make sure he recaulked the shower frame area where the water was leaking. Maureo said that he did not caulk that region since the work did not specifically mention recaulking the bottom region of the shower frame. A ridiculous excuse since repairing the water leak was the main reason for the work. He did not even bother to check the caulking for leaks when he here the first time. The job listed in Anies list was two hour job for $110, but Matt charged $25 for travel costs which was not mentioned in Angies listing for the Budget Right HandyMan. An additional charge of $86.49 was for labor and materials.

Oved did a fantastic job all around, even some help picking the right door and made it work.. Would hire again!

I enjoying working with Budget Right -- they do what you ask them and their quotes are on point. There was no dragging of feet or instances of having to go to the hardware store for items - their handymen have with them everything needed to complete the job on time and within time/budget quoted. I'm looking to get my bathroom remodeled and will strongly consider using Matt and his team!

Everything went well. I was not present but my husband was quite impressed. I had creative mirrors install 2 large custom mirrors and was sure the way they cut out the openings for the light sconces they would not fit. Not only did they fit but they look wonderful. They also installed two ceiling fans and gave suggestions about a few other things that need to be done. They were courteous and professional and I highly recommend them to anyone needing projects done around the house.

Work was done in a timely manner. Would hire again for any type handyman projects.

The handyman did a good job but I felt very ill at ease with him and I would not have him back. He was polite and did his work well, but seemed to be out of sorts and I got the impression he had little patience for women.

Oved did a great job...he came 15 minutes early and asked if he can start early. Reviewed all the things I wanted to get in done in 2 hours and completed on time. He was definitely reliable and I intend to use them again.

Richard was very polite and worked quickly to complete tasks, despite having issues with some of the track lighting fixtures. Would highly recommend him and Budget Right.

I've used budget right handyman 3 times. The previous 2 (different handymen for all 3 jobs) were great, everything that we asked was done and the job was satisfactory. So, we decided to use them again. The latest job we had was awful, the handyman that came clearly did not want to be there and whatever I asked for him to do on the job, he would say and do otherwise. After he was finished, he and I had a discussion about how bad the job was. He gave me an attitude, I was still going to pay him for his time although I've decided that day to never use them again. He, however, knew that I was very unhappy and upset about the job and didn't charge me but stormed out. Of course, I would've much rather he do the job right and I'll pay him coz now I have to hire someone again to fix his job and there will be more holes on my wall since the rod has to be moved again since it's crooked. I immediately called their office number and complained. A few days later, someone called me to apologize for it and explained the situation. I understand that there are days when we might not feel like going to work or some personal situations in our lives that put us in a bad mood. That's why I try not to write a bad review for a company. This is my first. The person that I spoke to over the phone was polite and he had asked me to give them another chance and call Matt to schedule for another handyman. I was contemplating my decision to use them for a while. A few weeks ago, I decided to give them another chance, and not look for another company just yet. I called Matt and left him a message over 2 weeks ago to schedule another handyman (or the first 2 that came here) to fix the last job and do other jobs. No response. I figured he got busy and forgot to call. I decided to call him again last week. Left Matt another message. No response. My husband asked me to give them until this week to reply. Still no reply. I have hired another prestigious company but I just think it's important to share my latest unpleasant experience with them. Whatever his reason is for not calling back, they are a business and even if you do not have any available handyman at hand or you cannot do the work, it is just common etiquette to call people back. I think, based on my latest experience, they are rude and I definitely will not use them again. They might not need any more clients now but if they continue to do this, it will not be a good reflection on anyone's business especially theirs.

I called Budget Right Handyman to fix a medicine cabinet door that had fallen off, thinking it would take the full two hours that I purchased through Angie's List. Matt was very responsive and making an appointment was a breeze. Elain came for the appointment, and fixed my mirror in a jiffy and then knocked out a long list of other pesky things I hadn't gotten around to in ages. She's amazing! Her work was speedy and high-quality. I'm already planning my next project with Budget Right Handyman and highly recommend this service.

The handyman arrived on time at my mother's house. I needed a variety of things done, faucet, electrical, and repair. He started by fixing the leak in the faucet and replacing the gasket. Next he repaired a broken bannister/railing leading to the second floor and finally repaired a couple of outlets.

He came out and he was asking me for some additional charges. It doesn't matter if I go with Angie's List or not. I really felt like there's no discount with the price he quoted me. I could have paid any contractor and they would have come out and do the same job for the same price. He was not pushy. He gave me a price of what he thought it would cost him to do the work. I decided not to go for it. It was reasonable and it wasn't outrageous.

Provider scheduled two hours. They arrived a bit early, including an apprentice. Went to work right away. My caulk was not the right type, so he went to Home Depot and purchased what was required. A panel of siding on the garage had gotten loose. That was fixed. Caulk was applied by the house and garage. A blinking light fixture was fixed. All went very well. I will call them again to do more work on the garage.

they were prompt, courteous, neat and performed the requested services. my only concerns: (1) it would have been nice for them to have shoe covers and (2) it took longer than expected to get a return call (two days) and appointment (one week after the return call).

My experience was fantastic! I emailed pictures, describing what I wanted/needed done. I received an estimate of how many hours it would take. We set up the date/time to do the work. First, the employee showed up 5 minutes EARLY!!! Yea!!!! Mario Salazar, the person sent out by Budget Right handyman, listened to me as I explained and showed him what I wanted done. He made some suggestions/revisions which made total sense and things that I had not thought about. He was extremely conscientious and meticulous, measuring and making sure everything was perfect. He did an excellent job and I am thrilled with the end result. Also, he cleaned up the area and it was spotless when Mario left. Additionally, the work took four hours less than the original estimate, which also made me very happy!

It went well. The man who did the work explained what could and could not be done in the time frame I paid for. Was also contentious and place well neat when work was finished.

I was looking for somebody that had specific experience hanging doors as I know it can be tricky to do correctly. When I called, they indicated they had experience at this and we scheduled the appointment. Steve Stephenson arrived for the work promptly on the day it was scheduled. He was super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was done correctly. He worked efficiently which was important since they charged by the hour. He also did excellent work. Both of my doors are back in operation and working better than before. I would highly recommend Budget Right Handyman and Steve for any work like this.

Dave was great but I do think next time I will ask for someone who doesn't smoke not that he smoked when he was there but the smell was strong
