Budget Right Handyman

It went really well! The handyman came in and did the job good.

Our handyman re-caulked our shower in quick time and since I am reviewing this months later, I can report there has been no issues with the job. I also had the handyman look at a few potential leaky pipes, but he could not find a leak. The price for 2 hours of handyman work was steep despite the small list of tasks I needed to get done. Had I realized it would take 20 minutes to take out the old caulk and then re-caulk I might have rethought when I would have hired a handyman.

David Oliva was the lead man. He did a wonderful job.

The repairs were ok and that was fine. The handyman commented on the contents on of my drawer, including personal items,in person and via follow up email. I felt this was inappropriate and felt uncomfortable that the handyman would message me as a married man on my personal items. I would hire them again but not the particular handyman that had made those comments.

Initially, I had purchased a vanity that was the wrong size for the bathroom. Budget Handyman assist me with the return and with the selection of vanity that was the right size for bathroom. Workers reported to appointment timely, was professional. I will hire them again.

I had hired another handyman to install them. The doors kept coming off of the brackets that were mounted in the floor. I purchased different brackets for the doors to be installed by Budget Handyman. I asked the person at the company when I was was scheduling the service if I should purchase the brackets or have the installer get them. He said to purchase them or I would be charged for the time that the installer spent going to the store. When he arrived, he looked at the doors and said that the brackets that had been installed would have been OK if the former installer had put blocks of wood under them to support them. He further went on to say that the brackets that I had purchased would fail if installed because they had a plastic component to them. He spent the next 1.5 hrs installing the brackets that he said would fail. He also pointed out that the bottom of one of the doors needed to be trimmed, but he didn't have a saw with him. He drilled the holes for the brackets in the bottom of the doors without covering my carpet leaving me with four small piles of wood shavings to vacuum up. As he predicted, one month later, the plastic component on the brackets failed. I removed the plastic component from the metal bracket and adjusted the leveling screw to fit the new depth of the bracket. I remounted the doors and they seem to be working again. I did, however, discover that one of the holes that he bored in the bottom of the door was not drilled straight, but on an angle and may not last due to the extra stress added because of the crooked drilling. My questions for this company are: Why would the service person install something that he stated would fail instead of requesting the proper equipment to install? Why didn't this person have an electric saw with him for a door install? I paid for two hours and he was done in 1.5. Finally; Why did he not cover my carpeting to protect it from the wood debris resulting from the drilling? The company did follow up with a call to see if I was satisfied with the experience. I related everything that I have written above to them. When asked what they could do to rectify the situation I told the caller that I felt like the money that I had spent with them was a bad buying value and that I would like a refund. He said that it didn't work that way and that he would relay my comments to a supervisor who would call me. I received no call from the supervisor.

The stove connection was fine - the gas company serviceman and the Budget Right handyman accomplished that as a team. The bathroom tile was a little more challenging, but Andy did a great job with that, as well. We were hoping to replace several ceramic tiles on our kitchen floor, but for a variety of reasons we ended up replacing the entire floor (it is a small kitchen). Two gentlemen completed the work in less than a day and a half, and we didn't even decide to replace the entire floor until the weekend before Thanksgiving, and the floor was finished for the holiday. We were able to use one Angie's List coupon and one Budget Right Handyman special offer, since the magnitude of the job was more than we anticipated. There was a lot of cooperation between people in the office, people in the field, and even an account representative who reimbursed us for an overcharge. Andy did whatever we asked of him, and Paul was very helpful providing advice on the phone. We will definitely use Budget Right Handyman again - there is always something that needs to be done in our old house.

excellent quality, punctuality, and great price

The one thing that impressed me the most is that on the past visit the handyman installed my deck light incorrectly. The handyman visiting today went to Home Depot replaced the other and installed it with no charge to me.

Very good work done and fixed the problem which had become a huge issue

Our handyman was able to replace the wax ring seal under the toilet and went into the crawlspace to further evaluate the leak. He attempted one repair, which did not turn out to do the trick but allowed him to more specifically diagnose the issue, which he then wrote out in detail for us to give to a plumber. The wooden peg replacement was very easy with a proper size ladder, which he brought with him. He was extremely friendly and communicated clearly about the work he was doing.

I contacted this company and then had a family emergency which delayed the project. They actually contacted ME to follow up. They were incredibly thorough in gathering information upfront to ensure price and scope of the job was correct. Darren was on time to minute, kept me updated on what he was doing and left my garage looking better than when he arrived. I plan to use them again.

The whole experience went very well. They were very responsive and pleasant during the estimate and scheduling process. We needed to reschedule the install and they handled that easily. Phil arrived right on time and was very pleasant and professional. The work was completed in less time than was estimated and we were very pleased with the final result.

He was very professional and knowledgeable about his line of work

It wasn't that great. They did it pretty much right away. He was here all day long. He had to come back the next day just to put in a vanity. They didn't charge extra for it. He was there for a long time. When I called them, they said it was probably going to take 4 hours. He was there for 6 hours and he still had to come back because he didn't have this and didn't have that. I used Budget Right before and the person that they sent was really good. They should have sent somebody who knew what he was doing and prepared. The cost was okay. The quality wasn't very good. He tried his best but I don't think he was familiar with what he was doing. If they gave me the person that I had before, then that would be fine. He was a really nice guy. I think he just needs more training and he needs to be prepared.

I had an electrician (Jatton Sterling) come over to work on few electrical issues at home. I wanted to change a bedroom switch to turn ON the ceiling fan instead of wall outlet. I wanted to do this in 3 bedrooms. He was able to do only in 1 of the 3 rooms since the other 2 rooms didn't had electrical wiring synchronized with the ceiling fan. One of the pull strings in the ceiling fan was broken and had to be replaced. My door bell wasn't working and had to replace the door bell switch. He also helped me stick a ADT door sensor on my patio door. It was a pleasure working with Jatton and Budget Handyman.

He did a really good job he took his time and was very detailed oriented. They were very responsive as far whatever I need done, if they showed up and I asked them to do something other than what I initially asked for they would do it. Andy and Dave they both did an excellent job.
