Budget Right Handyman

Mario was terrific. He was punctual, smart, and very thoughtful problem-solver.

Arrived on time and did a great job

It went ok. A few days after the work was done I noitced one door the install only put 2 screwes into the weather striappping to hold it inot place. All the other doors had multiple screws placed in the predrilled holes. I had to go out get more screws and fix the weather stripping.

I told the guy who answered the phone that I wasn't sure I had the right screws to hang pictures, and asked if they could bring screws that they typically use or recommend to hang pictures with them. I was told they would charge me an hour of service for the handyman to go to the store and buy ten screws. For a handyman service that was shocking to me. What handyman don't have screws for a standard task that like? I decided to hire someone else who was willing to help me out with out extortion. Also - the offer this company has for $110 for 2 hours of service appears to be faulty marketing. They are representing that this is a 50% discount from $220 original price, but I was told over the phone that is incorrect. Their real hourly rate is $59 per hour, so this "deal" is really only a discount of $8.

"Handyman" showed up on time, only spent about 15 minutes in our house telling us why he couldn't do any of the work he showed up to do, and then left even though we had paid for two hours of labor. This is after we called the office and were told that the proposed work was plenty to fill at least 2 hours of time. I called the office to discuss with a manager who agreed to only charge us for 1 hour of work. Even though he only spent 15 minutes at our house. I would not recommend them and would encourage you to consider other options.

This was a big deal it was okay. Every time I called them, though, they told me something different. The first guy was new. He did not know what he was talking about. He asked for my credit card and I told him I paid through Angie's List so he did not need my credit card. He told me they would provide the tools and that I needed to provide the materials. The second time I called they told me something different. When the guy actually came I purchased all the stuff I needed including the floors and the caulking. He used his stuff so I ended up returning it. So they were really kind of confused. The service was not good. The guy who did the work was okay, nothing great, but he was caulking in the bathroom and was putting down floor tiles. He was okay. They need to be on the same page so that was not good. The guy who came was nice, there was no problem with that. I should not have to call back three times and get three different answers.

Price too high for 1 hour of estimation, did not get any professional quote too

I explained our need to a rep at Budget Right Handyman who couldn't have been nicer and easier to work with. He told me he wanted to send their best electrician, and boy did he. The electrician arrived at 8am on the dot, walked me through what would be required and how long he thought it would take. He was extremely professional (I think he was formerly an IT consultant but wanted a more physical job so he became an electrician). I left him alone in our house to complete the job while I was at work. When I came home everything was exactly as promised. We discussed what it took to complete the job and it was not straight forward at all. Notwithstanding the complexity, our electrician handled it like a BOSS! As for whether I'd recommend Budget Right, let's just say I'll be calling them for everything from now on. The bad news for Angie's List is that these guys were so good, I may not need to use Angie's List to find another handyman again. These guys are my go to from now on.

It's not easy finding a good handyman service, but Budget Right was very responsive and helped guide me through the process. Cesar did a great job with putting in my exterior lights!

IT turned out to be minor issue which was fixed by tightening the pipe.

Could NOT have been any better. Wonderful from start to finish! Jeff was the technician who came to my home. He was on time and began work immediately. He moved from task to task with efficiency - not too quickly as if trying to rush the job, not too slowly - with perfect pace. He cleaned up each task prior to moving on to the next one. He was very respectful of my home. If any clarification was required he made sure that I understood what needed to be one and obtained my permission prior to doing it. Everything he installed works perfectly. I have used Budget Right several times and have always had a good experience. This experience was excellent and I will ask for Jeff for further work.

After several days of different people coming out to fix the complete mess the first Contractor created we were left with two holes in our walls and light sconces that have cracks all around the "patched" and painted drywall. Unprofessional, rude and not focused on quality work. We tried to resolve with their customer service rep, but the best they would do was have another contractor (the third) come out, but we would still be charged the hourly rate.

Some of these services were small and quickly done, and others took a few hours. No job seems to be too small or too big for Budget Right. They were all completed professionally and efficiently, and we were very happy with the improvements to our home. We keep going back to Budget Right because of their quality, service, and cost. The customer service representatives are knowledgeable and honest in predicting the time required to complete a project - they take the time to listen to what needs to be done, and they give sound advice and accurate information. Scheduling is flexible, and the workers have always been on time and productive while they are on a job. There are many promotions that we have been able to take advantage of, including reduced hourly rates at different times of the year for small jobs. For us, this has been the perfect service to use when you have some random installations or repairs that you cannot do by yourself, or you don't have the time to do by yourself. "Handyman" describes their service exactly. Additionally, I would like to commend the company for reaching out to us when we had prepaid for part of a project and then overpaid at the completion. They figured out before we did that there had been an error, and we received a check in the mail within a couple of days. In our experiences as homeowners for 30 years, this kind of service from anyone is unprecedented.

Absolutely horrible! First off the kitchen faucet was installed backwards. The garbage disposal wasn't connected properly so water sprayed out. The handyman (Mario) went to Home Depot twice to get supplies. To make matters worst, Mario's car was towed because he didn't properly display the parking pass in his window like he was instructed to. I had to drive him to the tow yard only to find out he didn't have any money and he wanted me to pay for his own negligence. After getting his car back, he returned to my home to finish the sink but the idiot parked his car in the fire lane where it could have been towed again. UNBELIEVEABLE!!! My Angie list deal was for two hours plus i paid for two additional hours, He never even got to my curtain rod and picture frames. I paid for four hours and got nothing done! I called Budget Right to complain and they sent Mario back (even though I asked them not to) to fix the problem with the leak and he suggested I buy 3 additional hours so he can fix the problem. SMH! I read the reviews for this company so I thought I would get excellent service but this was an experience from ****. I found a plummer on Home Advisor who fixed my leak in one minute. I'm am now waiting for Budget Right to do the right thing and rectify this situation.

I spoke with John and described the problem. But Justin showed up and he was not prepared for the job. We asked us for supplies on two occasions. The door was fixed adequately, but we were disappointed.

I am very happy with them and will hire them again whenever I need any handyman services in the house. They were punctual, worked hard and the end results were very good. The projects were done by different handymenan, and both of them did great job. I've been looking around for a handyman for my house for a while, and I am happy to have found BRH.

Please note that I did receive multiple qoutes before hiring Budget Right Handyman. So my expectations and the reality were two different things. The man who showed up was nice and seemed to know what he was talking about. I was a bit surprised to learn he was an independent contractor. I was expecting a truck with ladders carrying the company name and a guy with a bucket full of tools. The man arrived in his own car. He had a small toolbox with no ladders. I only mention the ladders because I don't have one and to figure out the issue he had to get into the attic so he guessed at what the problem was. Once I realized that he couldn't solve what I needed, I had him do 4 small projects. He had to go to Home Depot to buy what was needed which wasn't much. Home Depot is 1.98 miles away. I figured he'd be back in 1/2 hr. He was gone for a full hour. To be fair, I don't know that much about home repair but an hour for what he got was questionable. Once his work was done, he did not clean up after himself and I had to throw out all of the trash. The one other item I did not like is that he did not put booties on or take his shoes off. It had snowed heavily the night before so he was dragging snow and water all over my floor. After he left, I called a different contractor to review some of the things this guy said on the bigger projects. This new contractor came over and was far more prepared. He went up into the attic , took pictures and was more of what I expected. He was much more thorough and explained everything. So bottom line, the work was done but I wasn't impressed enough to recommend to anyone else.

Ceasar arrived on time, and prepared to work. He was very professional with good customer service skills, and completed the jobs excellently. I was very pleased to have my new mailbox. My new curtains look great.

completed the job in less than the two hour minimum. But glad that it was done properly and didn't cost me any more. With the new paint, it looks brand new.

Could not complete as more time is needed. They charge $59 an hour. Need to purchase at least another 4 hours to complete job. Professional and punctual. Will hire again.

They were great! I will definitely use them again, and am just waiting for my list of needed items to grow.

The pressure washing was completed the first day. The painting was completed over three other days; all surfaces needed to be repainted. There were multiple colors involved. Cesar from Budget Right Handyman did the work. He was a very good painter. Supervisors from the main office called to check in and make sure everything was going as planned. After completion of the project, they called several times to request I complete a review.
