Budget Right Handyman

I paid for a "deal" on Angie's List and was able to schedule services right away after purchasing. The person who scheduled was professional and helpful. Anthony R arrived with tools in hand and was helpful and nice. He measured for installation of hardware and bamboo poles for a canopy. He didn't over charge us and he offered suggestions. We have been looking for a "handyman" for three years and I would like to say that I think that Anthony is excellent!! When you have holes that need drilling or large bits of house that needs fixing, you want to have someone doing the work who you can have confidence in. I would recommend this company and Anthony.

Outstanding, Art was very fast and very professional, I'd definitely hire BRH to do work like this again. The office staff was also extremely responsive and professional, with the exception of billing. I've called again and again over weeks asking for an emailed copy of the final invoice to provide to my insurance company, and I haven't seen anything. But the work itself was very good.

My issue was resolved with my curtain to my satisfaction.

Work took twice as long as quoted and still incomplete. Handyman very late for one of the appointments. Not detailed in the work done, so part of the electrical work looks more like I did it rather than a professional. Do not respond to concerns.

He spent the time on the door and going to the store. He added a light bulb. I'm not happy about the door, the minor things were okay. That door is not right, its beginning to stick at the top. I can't get out unless I hurt my arm doing so.

Glenn Murtagh is the real deal. He was professional and did an amazing job with both of the tasks we needed to have done. We will be asking for Glenn by name in the future. He's great. Our bedroom went from drab to fab-ulous. We are so happy with the outcome.

Rebuild drywall from a prior job where the other contractor did not use bead board or miter the baseboards. They said they could do the job. The paint job was horrible. I had to hire another company to finish what they did. They charged me approximately $3,300 for the job and I asked for a $1,200 refund which I thought was appropriate since that is how much it cost me to hire someone else and finish the job. One of the contractors left his marijuana pipe in my garage. They showed up late and attempted to come back once at 8am on a weekend when I was asleep No appointment was made. Do not hire this contractor. They will promise you the world and then rip you off.

Quick installation in and out door was hung and the toilet was installed.

Project went great, there were some unforeseen complications that made the project run a little longer than expected but the handyman was able to work through them.

It was great. The handyman was punctual and honest. A little dry-wall mess/dirt left around at the end of installation but the work was done perfectly. It's been 6-months now and I have had no issues with anything that the handyman worked on. I will definitely retain them again in future if needed.

Phil C. arrived at my home promptly at the scheduled appointment time. Phil C. was very professional. We walked around the house as I pointed out areas of concern and he noted some I had not seen. The gutter issues were all repaired within the two hours covered by the coupon I had purchased. And after the job was completed we discussed other projects I have planned for my home and my mother's house. I will definitely call Budget Right again for help.

I have used this company serveral times in the past and was happy with the quality of work, until my last job order. My request was simple, install a curtain rod. The rod was specifically made for the ceiling. What should have been a 40 minute job ended up taking close to 6 hours over 2 days. I was overcharged, the curtain system doesn't work, I have holes in my ceiling everywhere, and I have tried for close to 3 weeks to get a resolution. I was told last Monday from John that someone would call me back and set up a time to review the damage. Today, 9 day's later I still have no resolution and had to call myself to find out the status of my complaint. Their vm states 100% statisfaction, however, I still have holes in my ceiling and a curtain system that doesn't work.

They were very professional and did quality work. I was very satisfied.

Chris was extremely helpful and communicative in terms of scheduling this work and adjusting to my schedule. The technician that came out to our site was able to complete the work in less than half of the estimated time. I would definitely hire this team again.

It went very well. Nate R came out and re-cut the door so I could get in and out easily. I was very pleased.

After 8 hours of work only one of the patches out of 8 total was totally done and sanded. The technician over applied the plaster so thick in one of the openings that he spent 2 hours sanding a two foot by two foot opening with a small palm sander to no avail. Budget Right's offered resolution after I was assured that they stand behind their estimates and work is that they send the technician out and continue billing me to complete the "unfinished" job. Their new estimate is for an additional 4 hours of purely sanding time to "finish" the job. That alone tells you that there was an issue. As you can imagine I declined their offer to continue paying for their mistake. In hindsight a read of some of Budget Rights other unprofessional responses to past criticism should have told me to avoid this firm. Pay particular attention to how they turn around and criticize their customers making unsubstantiated claims back having the last word, instead of owning up to their issues. Based on some of their other responses, I am sure that Budget Right will claim that I am an unreasonable customer not willing to pay for the service and this is just the case of an unfinished job as they had to over apply the plaster to cover the opening because the plaster shrunk. As if they were not expecting it to do so. That may be the case for an unskilled plasterer, but understand that done correctly these were simple patches that should have only taken 8 hours with some light sanding and I was perfectly content paying a fair price for that work. Needless to say do not make the same mistake as me, hire a skilled plaster company to do plaster repair. Count me as a fully dissatisfied customer

I had a deal for 2 hours of handyman services. I initially scheduled them for a plumbing project and another small project. However, once they came to my place, they quickly determined in addition to the running toilet problem, there was another issue that first required water to my entire unit (in a multi-unit building) to be shut off, which needed to be done by a licensed plumber. No problem, I had another project that needed assistance. I called them to reschedule for a shower re-grout project and they were very accommodating. They did not even charge me for the 20-30 minutes their plumber was there previously. For the grout project, Carlos was great. He worked cleanly and efficiently , and came with all of the necessary materials. The end result was excellent. I could not be happier with how it turned out or with my dealings with the Budget Right Handyman company in general.

Dan finished all the job in 6 hours!. It was a very pleasant experience. Would definitely hire again. Prices are very reasonable too.

The technician wasn't prepared for the work and came in without appropriate tools even though all related documents were provided ahead of time. $118 were charged for the time with nothing was done.

Joe Fink was excellent. He showed up early and performed all work professionally.

Excellent. The structure of the garage required some creative thinking. The handyman and I came up with an effective solution. The work was done right and in a reasonable amount of time.

I couldn't ask for better service! Budget Right maintained great communication before and after the visit. The handyman was punctual, courteous, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. He did a great job on the tasks and helped me identify the correct materials to order for some future jobs I inquired about (which I'll be bringing Budget Right back in for.) I really enjoyed working with Budget Right, they clearly take pride in the quality of their work and their customer service.

On time and on budget. Looks brand new, very satisfied with the work and the price.

james did a very good job. he was professional yet friendly, he did what I asked him to do in an efficient and competent manner.

The handyman was late getting to my house. He did call and say he was working on another job in the city and it would take some time to get to my house. When he came to my house, I explained what needed to be done and he got to work. He said he sealed the floor around my tub and toilet. The caulk he used has since come up. He then started to repair the water damage in my ceiling. He wasn't able to do what needed to be done and had to leave. He came back the next day, charged me, and did a very bad job. He said I needed to sand my ceiling and paint it with "Kilz" to finish the work he started. My ceiling looks bad and I have to redo it myself. While the initial price seemed great, the final price was not because I had to pay twice. Although he called, he was late. And while he was nice, I didn't feel comfortable giving him feedback. I even had to help him carry his ladder to his car. I will never use Budget Right Handyman and I now have my doubts about using Angie's List.
