Budget Right Handyman

they were excellent. they just did an outstanding job. they came in, my closet had fallen and clothes were just all over. The man came in and fixed it up so good. Did an excellent job cleaning up behind themselves. They really make a different. They try to get everything done in two hours.

This was a $110 big deal purchase and it was okay. The guy was good, he was legit. It wasn't like A-plus -- he did well. The only problem was when he mounted the TV he left some holes in the wall. Other than that he was good. They were giving me an estimate so I paid for an hour of that and we walked through. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. The staff calls you and you don't have to wait for service. I called them one day and the guy was out the next day. They are really good with that. They get back to you and you can always get them on the phone. I have never had to wait on the phone or anything like that. The people that have come out have been above competent. The amount of work he did, for the TV installation alone, that is what you are paying.

I thought it went fine until I tried to take wreath down. The way the guy had put the hook in (upside down) and then jammed the wreath into it made it impossible to remove. I called and was told if I wanted someone to come out, it would be another service call. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. With the help of two other people we finally removed the wreath from the hook, but I shouldn't have had to ask friends to get up on a ladder and help me because of what the handyman did. I have used Budget Right several times, but never again!

I spoke with the technician they were going to send out before he came so I could explain what I needed and make sure it was things he could do. He said he could. When he showed up he lacked the skills to replace the door lock and hadn't even purchased the door lock a head of time but said he could go to Home Depot while on the clock to look for it. He didn't have the skills to install the Ring Video Door Bell so that didn't get done either. I bought replacement hoses for my washer. He installed the cold hose on the washer and one on the dryer but not the hot water hose for the washer. He left the rubber one on there. When I brought it up he asked if I wanted him to correct it but said he would need to take a smoke break first. He couldn't do 2 of the 3 things I hired him for and I had to pay for a certain amount of time so I had him hang pictures instead which is something I could have done on my own. Budget Right Handymans customer service department called me 3 days after to see how my experience was. I explained nothing I hired them to do got done and I didn't have a good experience. After I explained the experience he asked me if I was satisfied with work like he just wanted to me to say yes. I said I wasn't and I was going to leave a negative review on Angie's List. He then asked if I was threatening him. He offered to have the same guy come out as a resolution because they have a policy of having their technicians correct their issues. I explained again that the technician didn't have the skills to do the jobs I needed and that that was the same thing as me telling him I was thirsty and him offering me food and he ended the call. He called me back and said he had spoken with a supervisor and they could offer to send someone else out with the skills needed for the job. I agreed and we agreed on a time and day. I specifically asked to make sure the technician they sent out would have the door lock mechanism I needed and sent pictures so they could pick up the right one. They agreed and said they would have it when they came out and said that they took care of their customers. The day they were supposed to come out I got a voicemail from the technician saying he was at Home Depot and couldn't find the door lock I needed and that I would have to get it. I couldn't believe after all of that they hadn't looked and found the right door lock ahead of time so I called them back to let them know I didn't want to work with them any longer. The call center representative I spoke with said they do occasionally get difficult customers like myself so I asked to speak with his supervisor and the supervisor answered the phone saying "are you the difficult customer?" I called my Credit Card Company American Express who I used to pay Budget Right Handyman and had them dispute the charge. After 45 days Budget Right Handyman never responded to the American Express Merchant Inquiry and the dispute was resolved in my favor. Today I got a notice in the mail they they are going to put a lean on my property for services not paid for. So instead of responding to the American Express dispute they decided to come straight to me over $265.50.

There was a mix-up in scheduling where the original appointment was missed. This was not that big a deal. Budget right also asked me to purchase supplies that I did not need and were not used by their technicians so this was definitely unacceptable. Otherwise, the actual work went great and the price was competitive.

Would never use them again or recommend them

Dave took care of everything on my list and made helpful suggestions for solutions to some of the issues I was dealing with.

Great! Much better than expected! We were able to schedule for the next day. Glenn called to let me know he arrived and tolerated my horribly yappy dog. He installed the under sink trash cans very quickly. He made sure the coat rack hooks were installed perfectly level. I was about to throw out a Pottery Barn shelf. I had it for 10 years and after repainting the room, I couldn't get it to back to sit level on the wall; it kept sagging. Glenn figured out the problem and was able to save it! Thank you so much!!

It went very well. The young man - Halo - did a great job. He was efficient and very professional.

The project required a lot of planning given that we were removing existing cabinetry to make space for the fridge. For the actual installation we worked with Glen, who was very professional and friendly. He had a lot of knowledge regarding the installation of the wine fridge from modifying the cabinetry to the electric work to the actual install. He worked very efficiently and we are very pleased with the end result!

Glenn was the best, did a great job, was friendly, couldn't have asked for anything better. Will definitely hire and ask for Glenn again.

They were punctual and delivered the estimate in a timely fashion. However, their estimate was 4 times HIGHER than the 3 other estimates we received.

Very Good. Work completed as contracted

I most recently had the guys come out and repaint my home's first floor ceiling approximately (1600 sq ft). They did a wonderful job keeping my home clean. Even though it was a two day job, the guys completely took down all the tarps and set them up a second time on the next day. These guys are professionals and it shows.

I am very happy with the service and quality of this company. Nate was the handyman assigned to work with me, and this is the second time he's done work at my residence. He performed the work much faster than I could have and really helped me check some things off my to-do list that had been lingering. I plan to use them again for my next project.

James came prepared with the necessary drills and hardware for the installation. He did was precisely what we asked for. My contact at the company was crisp and professional. By all appearances, this is a very well-run operation. I would definitely engage their services again.
