Budget Right Handyman

This whole process was relatively painless. Budget Right was very responsive to my millions of questions. I had the good fortune of having the two Marios (Salazar and Chavez) assigned to my project. They arrived on time and got the job done quickly and expertly. They were very professional and explained everything they were going to do, answered my questions and when they left, made sure everything was cleaned up. I couldn't have been happier with the service.

Very bad. The clock starts to tick from the minute the workman lets you know know he is at the building and you are charged by the hour. The workman came but refused to sign the agreement on the rules of the building. After some phone calls, faxes and so on, he signed it. He carried sundry tools, a can of putty and a ladder loosely held against his chest. Guess what, he dropped them on the hallway carpet, asked me for a rag to clean it up. Then he comes into the apt, asks for the paint pan and roller. When I said I didn't have them, he left for the store to buy them, all the while charging me for the time. Finally when he was ready to start, he had less than 3 hours before he should stop because the building rule permits work only until 4:30 pm. I said to myself at least get one wall done and wanted to get it all over with. Unfortunately, the paint I had bought ($46) was not the right shade. The painter was not sure it will look good. I am thankful to him for letting me know before he started the work. He did straighten the closet doors. But other than that the whole thing was a fiasco. I do not know of a painter who comes so ill-equipped for the job he is supposed to perform. They did not give me Angie's list discount though I got their contact only through Angie's List. I was charged for parking and supplies like the paint trays on top of the charge for the hours- totally unanticipated. Bottomline: Extremely disappointed.

Okay, however there was a need for a follow-up the next day which was handled promptly and accurately.

Nate arrived on-time and performed the work quickly and professionally. I've used Budget Right several times before, and will again.

Good overall and price is reasonable compared the similar service providers. I appreciated that they were able to fit me in on the same day and the customer service was cooperative and helpful. The service person was also pleasant and did his job well.

I requested an electric work to be done and left work early twice to be there on time, but the work never got done. First time the so called electrician didn't even show up, and the second time electrician showed up and said it's too much work and will not do it. If your time is valuable, you will not do business with this unprofessional company. Trust me, they are horrible, bunch of unprofessional people and should be banned on doing business on Angie's list. The kicker is the electrician they sent me the second time had no idea what had to be done and was even complaining on how much work they are having him do and there is never a good communication between him and the Budget Right Company.

My small list of items was completed, no hassles.

Scheduled appointment for 5/8 from 5 to 7 pm. No one showed up or called. Very disappointed.

Great! They were very careful, thorough and professional.

The work that was done was substandard. The original service technician did an awful job on the caulk (looked like it had been applied with a trowel), which had to be redone, and did worse job on the faucet install -- they leaked under the cabinet from the moment he left. To their credit, the dispatcher was horrified and was able to get someone out the next day (Sunday) at no charge. Unfortunately, he also failed to install them properly - although he clearly knew what he was doing much more than the first guy. On Monday I had a plumber come and fix them.

Someone was suppose to come by on 4/22/17 at noon but never showed up. I called around 12:10 to inquire and was told by Chris that they were running late. I can understand that it happens he suggested that they come at 1:30-2:00 I chose to reschedule. Chris said they worked on Sunday so we agreed with 4/23/17 at 8am. Much to my surprise there was a no show again, on each account I had to call. Chris reassured me that this was't how they did business and said they would refund me the 1st hour.

Purchased their two hour offer on May 3rd. The company called to schedule an appointment and was trying to tell me that I needed to purchase an additional hour of work. I declined the additional hour and did not receive a call back. Four hours later I called them back to inquire as to what happened. I was then informed that I need to purchase an additional four hours from them to have the work completed. Mind you, I received two other quotes and knew that the work would be less than two hours, but wanted to have it completed within the next couple of days. I do not like people trying to take advantage of me and have requested a refund. Furthermore, the second PM did not call me back either.... Not a very honest company. Will not contact again for anything.... And want my refund.

I would recommend this company, I want to give a shout out to Andy S. and Justine, Andy was the gentlemen who came and did the work, Justin was the gentlemen who did the estimate and he was spot on on what it would cost. The men who answered the phone are very professional, knowledgeable and helpful and if you have to leave a voicemail message they call you back the same day.

The price was fair and the job they did was fine.

They promised to send someone to come to fix the microwave. Never happened and when I refuse to make payments they put a lien to my property! LACK OF WORK SKILLS, GOOD INTENTIONS AND WORK ETHIC...DO NOT HIRE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT MORE TROUBLE IN YOUR LIFE!!!

Glenn from Budget Right Handyman did a fantastic job installing a new counter, sink and faucet. Came out perfect. He was an utter professional and was clearly very knowledgeable, and was very conscious of giving me quality work a good cost. Would definitely recommend them. Ask for Glenn!

No response from them even after calling them and speaking with them a few times. I even sent them messages including a picture of my foyer, existing chandelier and the new one to get an estimate. They said they need an 18 ft ladder or scaffolding and would give me a call back but no response till date.

Luis was amazing and we look forward to having him return to our home. He was the best handyman we have ever had.

It turned out to be a pretty big fiasco, actually. I bought the two hours and I tried for months to schedule something with them. It was difficult to schedule. When I finally got it scheduled then they tell me they don't serve my location. So I said I have another piece of property and did they serve Hyde park. They said okay. I said to let me see what work I had for them there. I had a tiling job in Hyde Park so they came out and looked. I said I had other work too, so initially when it was all said and done they said it was about nine hours of work that I was contracting for. I said okay. Instead of the bathroom taking two hours the bathroom took, like, four or five hours and then all of the other stuff equaled up initially to what they said would be nine hours but it turned out to be 12 hours worth of work, so that is, like, a 30 percent increase. What initially should have been, you know, the two hour big deal that I bought turned into, you know, almost a grand -- I think it was a grand. I mean, they did do the other things -- they didn't do all the other things -- they kind of picked and chose what they wanted to do, but because the bathroom job took initially longer than they said it would take and then they went and did other stuff instead of prioritizing things to get to the nine hours. They just kept going with all the other things. One of the other things was fixing a lock on one of my bedroom doors. They shaved the door down because they said it was sticking and then they put half of the lock on the bedroom door so that if you close the bedroom door you were locked out of it and you needed to use a knife or screwdriver to get back into the bedroom. They did not even tell me they were doing that. I asked them to take pictures and they didn't because I was in Kansas while they were doing all this work. You know, they have, like, a AAA rating and zillions of customers and all of this, but I won't be using them again. The work they did was fine -- it wasn't bad. My recollection is it took a year to get something done.

Their service was excellent. They charge by the hour, but they didn't need to be there that long.

Leonard from Budget Right did a great job, I bought the 2 hour package coupon, it was well worth it.

They sent Sam C. who was very knowledgeable and very nice. I will ask for Sam C. in the future.

No complaints! They came in and did the work and I was happy with what they did. They did what I asked. They were on time and everything went as expected. The price was reasonable. They were responsive. They were professional, no issues there.

It was very good. He came and took care of that for us and we were very satisfied with the service.

Dave Federici from Budget Right Handyman was amazing! He worked quickly and efficiently with great skill. He was on time, and used good sense and creativity with some of the jobs we asked him to do. Overall, he was terrific and I highly recommend him and Budget Right.
