Budget Right Handyman

We had Luis Martinez and his team from BRH come into our first-time homeowners new condo and build a wall with a door and electrical fixtures. We received three quotes on the project and went with BRH because of their professionalism, detailed and upfront quote process, and business ratings. Luis and his team were done early, very respectful, and were extremely accommodating when it came to making the project exactly what we wanted. Since we lived elsewhere at the time, we appreciated how well they worked without our direct supervision and their willingness to send update photos via text at the end of each day. Luis was always extremely responsive when it came to questions or concerns, even if they reached him after working hours. We were also very appreciative of the fact that the team took the time to match newly added parts (example, door frame, electrical casing) to other pre-existing details of our condo without our specific request. Not only do we have a beautiful new bedroom wall but we also had a great customer experience with Luis and his team. We love our new wall and will definitely get in contact with BRH next time we have another project to send their way!

Technician (Mario Chavez) called and arrived earlier than appointed time, and did an excellent job. He answered all my questions and explained the processes thoroughly. Would gladly use this company again. Highly recommend!

Cleo was great problem solving, was efficient and completed tasks in a timely but complete way. Asked us about other projects and checked quite a few things off of our to do list.

Art was on time and professional. The jobs were done correctly with no problems in about 2 hours, as expected.

My appointment was originally for 4:00 pm but at 3:00 I received a call asking if it would be o:k to arrive at 3:30. This was fine by me. Alfredo Lopez arrived promptly at the revised appointment time. He was pleasant, friendly, and professional. He quickly began the job of replacing the two faucets. Upon completion he tested them in my presence only to realize that one of the shutoff water valves was stuck and so no cold water was coming out of one faucet. He quickly went back to work and in another 2 minutes solved the stuck valve issue. He again retested the faucets and all worked well.. He cleaned up the area and was then on his way but only after saying if a problem were to develop to call him back immediately and that he would return to fix it. From promptness to pleasantness to doing a fine job he was great.

The team was pleasant, helpful, easy to work with, and efficient.

Art was great he measured everything, made sure that they were level, covered his shoes and asked if I was satisfied after hanging each picture .

Sam C, the technician, came and checked out the damage. After taking some measurements and doing some evaluation, he went to Home Depot. Upon his return he went to work. He repaired all the damage and fixed the piece of siding where the leak was coming from. Overall the process took about 5 hours. The only thing he didn't fix was molding above the door due to Home Depot not having any that matched my current trim nor did they have any that was the same measurement. All and all, I'm happy with the work and will have Sam come back once I find a different set of trim.

It worked out very well. It was very good. The handy man did an excelent job. They put molding all around my basement. There was about 150 square feet of molding that they painted and put down. Yes, what happened was I moved from Chicago to Kentucky, and that work was done on my home in Chicago. They were right on time. I would difinitely use them again. If they come out to Kentucky I will be more than happy to use them. I actually was looking for some ideas on what to do with the molding and how to put it up. I like the fact that they gave me ideas. So instead of just doing it the way that I wanted it, it might not have been done as professionally as somebody that has great ideas. It only cover 1 room and I had 3 rooms I wanted done so he prorated it for the other 2 rooms.

Mario Chavez was amazing. I would hire him again -- and will hire him again!

Most fans were installed quickly and efficiently. Mario S did an excellent job installng the one difficult fan.

Exceptionally well Luis did a great job

Mario Chavez called me the morning of the job to say he was in traffic and might be 5 to 10 minutes late but he actually arrived on time. We went over everything I needed done and he had suggestions for me how to deal with the uneven framing that was already there and the corner edging and how to deal with the bottom edging in case I ever got water in the basement where this project was being done. He then left to go to Home Depot to get supplies (a little over an hour). Came back and got to work. Did the cutting outside in the gangway to minimize dust in the house. I just went and checked in with Mario every once in awhile to see how it was going (all good). One time I went down to check with him, he let me know another option - how to have access to the clean-out pipe. Since I had to go out for a few errands, I went to Home Depot and got an 8” x 8” access panel for him to add to the project. He finished between 3:30 pm and 4 pm. It looked so much better than I expected. The wall was “even and seamless”, all the cutouts were done; took care of electrical outlet on wall, corner edging trim and access panel was added and he even caulked the drywall wall that was flush with the brick wall. The drywall “mudding” still needed to dry and all I have to do is lightly sand it before priming and painting. Mario helped me store all the leftover material in one place and he cleaned up all dust and debris. Budget Right Handyman. Good Communication and Excellent Work. Very satisfied. Would use Mario and Budget Right again. Final cost was $484.00 (which included the $74 for Home Depot supplies). Used Angie’s List/Budget Right Handyman coupon for 10% off labor for first time customers.

Edgar did awesome job to isolate an fix an outlet issue. Issue was simple but tricky one , all simple issues are the hardest one to find. Edgar was able to locate and fix the failure. Door bell installation also went perfect. Thank You.
