Budget Right Handyman

We kept in constant communication because it is a condo and the times that the workmen can be there is very finite and because of my busy schedule too - but finally got the guys (2) to come and do the work. Luis and Alfredo were both professional, punctual and great to work with. Luis explained everything at the end of the day along with updates/status of the job along the way. It is not easy trying to find a handyman (at least in my experience) but I would recommend both of these guys again without hesitation. Brad (the contact in the office) was also a pleasure to deal with as we were in constant communication about the project as well and kept each other updated on everything.

James was fantastic. He was punctual, kept in touch throughout the day with updates on the work, and was very friendly.

Nate was knowledgeable about the work I had asked him to do, and explained things to me as he went along. He was respectful of my home, and not making a mess. I would hire again.

The project manager booking the project was very attentive and friendly, and able to find me a handyman within a few days. When Stan arrived, I was greeted with professionalism and friendliness. The rain slowed things down a bit, but overall was pleased with the project.

It went great. They finished in under the quoted time, and the work was excellent.

The job went well, he (David F.) had it fixed in no time at all. He was very professional & explained everything. Tried the doors to make sure they worked properly and they did. Great Job!! Because it was a return fix on the exterior door they didn't charge me for that repair...THANK YOU!

SCAM ARTISTS!!! THEY SAY ONE THING TO GET YOUR BUSINESS, THEN UP-CHARGE YOU AND CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE! DO NOT HIRE! The beginning portion of the transaction was professional enough: called for a quote on drywall repair, and received it promptly after sending in some pictures of the issues. Over numerous phone conversations, I asked about pricing, and was advised that it's an hourly rate, and that they estimated about 2-3 hours for the job, at $65/hr (plus materials, which was estimated at $50 or less). So I then confirmed that the total charge, including materials, would be approximately $200 or less, and they said yes. After this, they then said the job would take place over 2 days: the first day would be the repair, and the second day would be sanding and priming. Once I heard this, I again asked whether I would be charged anything extra for that second day, and I was specifically advised "no". I again confirmed that the *total* for the job would be around $200 or less, and would be based on exact materials price (they said I would get a receipt of items purchased), and the amount of hours on the first day of the job (again, estimated at 2-3hrs). Again, I confirmed that the second day would be free of charge, given its extension of the first day; and again, I was advised that it would not be extra. Then, on the day of the job, I was called by the worker promptly enough, and upon arrival, I had to re-explain the job on the phone (I was not home, and I set up someone to be present, which they knew about). The worker then told me that he hadn't yet looked at the paperwork for the job (this is after he arrived), and he would do so and take a look what he needed to do. On that first day, the job took less than 2hrs (per the person that was home). At the end of it, I received an invoice with a total charge of $130, with a caption mentioning that they had a minimum charge of that amount. This was my first time hearing about a "minimum" charge, but since it was close to the anticipated charge, I let it go. I did not receive any receipts noting any materials charge, as was mentioned to me on the phone. And that day, my credit card was charged (apparently they keep it on file after you book the job). On the second day, I again had someone present in my absence, and the same worker came and went. I did not receive any further invoices, nor did I receive any phone calls with any updates on the job. So I assumed everything went well and the job was done and paid for. About 3 weeks later, I notice a *SECOND* charge on my credit card of $130. I call Budget Right thinking there must be some mistake, and asked why there was another charge for a one-time service. I received a call back, and was told that after checking on their end, the second charge was because of the second day. And that they charge *every time* they come out, and per hour, with a minimum of 2hrs. What a load of nonsense. I clearly asked this exact question multiple times, and was assured this was not the case. Despite this, they went against their own words. I asked for the charge to be reversed, and they said they'd look into it. Then they send me an email, showing the signature of the person that was home (not me) signing for two separate days on *two* separate invoices. But -- I only received *one* invoice from the *first* day of the job (I even asked if the worker had left any paperwork after the second day, and there was none). So apparently, they made the person at home sign off on an invoice on the second day, but they made no mention to me that there were any additional charges prior to signature, and they didn't leave any copies of the invoice. Thus, I would never have known about the second charge if I wasn't watching my credit card charges. Completely shady business practices. Once I explained all this to the contact at Budget Right, I was advised that I would receive a phone call for clarification, and reversal of charges. Apparently, they record their conversations (perfect for me since I asked about the charges beforehand), and said they'd listen to them and get back to me. The professional thing to do in this instance would have been to immediately reverse the charges, and look into the miscommunication on their end (i.e. why they told a customer there would be no additional charges when their practice was otherwise). Instead, they decided to drag out the situation without a prompt refund. It's now the next week, and no further contact from them. Based on how this is going so far, I'm not surprised at this point. The charge is now under dispute with my credit card company. DO NOT HIRE! SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES; THEY KEEP YOUR CREDIT CARD ON FILE AND CHARGE IT WITHOUT TELLING YOU. *Update* “the merchant contacted me today and apologized for their mistake. They confirmed that in listening to the phone calls in question, that I was correct. They started the refund of the extra charge.

Technician was excellent and allowed me to follow along and discuss what he was doing. Provided pointers about caulking, what material to use, and provided an opportunity to inspect each window before moving on

Fantastic. They fixed the leak that the plumber failed to diagnose and fix. The put drywall up on the bathroom ceiling. The communication was great and very professional. Their price was reasonable. I would definitely hire them again!

The man's name was Cleon, and he did a very good and efficient job.

Stanley did the work and was prompt and completed all work with the exception of the electrical since it was more involved work. Needed to come back and fix the toilet since it was still leaking however did this at no additional charge.

the work was excellent I will hire again for my various projects. I highly recommend this firm.

I called Budget Right to get a repair on a wall that had a small amount of damage needing to be repaired and then match up the paint on a wall that was painted 11 years ago with a custom color. I did not have much hope it could be completely matched but Art did a great job and way ahead of the time quoted! Was respectful of my home, great with my little dog and cleaned up afterward. Would absolutely hire again.

Went great, Cleon from Budget Right came on time was very professional, Went to work right away and had the doors hung and aligned in no time at all. I will use Budget Right again for my home repairs.

Luis came and hanged many shelves in our closet very quickly and professionally. He also gave me an advise on other shelves and how to make consolidate the space. I am thrilled I can use my closet now. The company has communication issues. They mixed up the appt day and had to reschedule. But the work is very professional and you do not have to wait long for an appt which is a big plus. I gave the highest grade for the best service

Because electrical wiring is installed incorrectly at ceiling. I am waiting for the contractor to correct the issue.

Luis did a great job installing our removing our old installation and installing our brandy-new kitchen hood! Luis was super punctual, friendly and kept to task. BRH is my new go to handyman! Thank you.

Very well, Juan found a problem within an hour of the first day, which needed to be fixed before any further work was done, and immediately brought it to my attention. I received a quote very quickly, was able to sign off and Juan immediately addressed the issue. Juan did a fantastic job and will request him for any jobs in the future.

It went pretty smoothly. We communicated with Brad, our project manager. He gave us the price per hour per man, and was able to estimate the amount of time per board. Wood and supplies would be purchased by them, and charged to us at cost. At that point we set up a day for the job, and he told me who would be there. Our only negative was that the nails used were not as large as the ones used on the original boards. Mario and Art arrived about 15 minutes early and started working pretty quickly. The job ran about an hour over the original estimate, but they had to pull up a lot of nails to get the old boards up. Also, we thought all the boards would be 2x6, but it turned out one was 2x4, so with my approval Mario and Art cut one board down to fit.the guys were polite and nice to deal with.
