We found Pete on yelp, there were a lot of good reviews and a few bad ones that said he's not very professional. However, Pete is well priced so we decided to give him a shot. HUGE MISTAKE. Pete seemed professional and prompt at first. He showed up, told us we were being scammed by the big box company (who had given us an ~4k estimate) and that he could to the work, labor and materials for around $1000. We agreed to these terms, he showed up a few times, sometimes with a helper to trace wires. We found him to be slow moving and continually late to the job. He would require us to come with him to Home Depot to pick up supplies, which we would pay for ourselves. On a random day he gave us a 'bill' for completion of the work so far (a few days worth) and asked for $300 in labor and we spent about $500 in materials. We paid this, he required it in cash. After we paid, he would answer our phone calls and say he would come over, but he never did. He simply stopped coming over. He just stopped showing up and we never heard from him again - it's astonishing. The work was never completed. We have had several professional electricians come through to do estimates since the 'Pete debacle' and they have said that this guy simply underbid the project, realized it was too much work and over his head and stopped coming. I would never recommend this guy to anyone.

Very responsible, professional and took the time (when he didn't necessarily have to) to teach/educate me about the basics of electrical repair. Worth the price and would use him again and plan to in the coming months.

I called Bohlen Electric for a quote on some electrical updates I need for my home. He showed up within the hour of our appointment. I took him throughout the house showing him the updates needed. This process went fine. He gave some advice and let me know that I would be receiving a quote. I never received this quote, even after following up with both a phone call and an email.

I lived in Los Angeles and was moving to Chicago. I had purchased a condo in Old Town and was attempting to do a remodel from LA. this was a harrowing experience, let me tell you!!!! However, i found Pete on "yelp", and that was one of my best decisions throughout the whole remodel experience. I initially sent him a HUGE, laundry list of questions on what i wanted done to my unit. he patiently answered each and every question. he came out TWICE to my condo to ensure he provided an accurate estimate (in the snow, which is a big deal to me since i'm from los angeles). His pricing was beyond reasonable, and he has proved himself so amazingly trustworthy again. Throughout my remodel process, he has made invaluable suggestions, which not only saved me $$, but also improved functionality. He is also handling my cable wiring and hanging my plasma tv's. oh and my husband was DYING to get DIrecTv in our condo building, which is a historic building that is super strict about exposed wiring and such. Pete went on the roof, took pictures, and devised a plan which resulted in Board approval of the DirecTv satellite dish. Pete is my husband's hero (gotta have access to a gazillion sports channels)!!! Bottom line: Pete is punctual, reliable, an expert at what he does (has been doing this for over 25 years), and just a cool guy. We have found our chicago electrician. He rocks!!!!!!

They are a good, reliable company with an unbeatable price. They were very professional and the estimate was right on target with what the final cost ended up being.
