I'm not much of a reviewer but I just had to review on this experience I had. Set up was quick and easy with Eric and was given a time window. The crew was a little late(due to another job) but they called in advance to let me know. Great communication! Once they arrived, well, like other reviewers have said, they were amazing. I had an awesome 3 person crew. Andy,Josh, and Elliot. They asked me what was being moved and the whole team was on the same page from the start so no confusion. They assessed the best way to move the heavy and odd objects (thru the front and the back) and they got to work fast! No standing around to figure out what to do, it was just done. Before I knew it, we were heading to the destination and once there, again a brief discussion on where things were going and off they went. No fuss and for these young guys, they were extremely professional,polite and courteous. I was so impressed that I called Eric as the crew were driving away just to tell him how awesome they were. I would definitely use them again.

Everything went very well. They were very helpful and efficient.

Amazing. How many superlatives can I write? Freakin' Amazing. Excellent communication and customer service with Eric, and Lou, and Lloyd, who were polite, professional, congenial, and bent over backwards to help me in my situation -- my movers were four of the nicest, hardest-working gentlemen that I've met in a long time, anywhere. Andy, Joshua, Elliott, and Jonathan -- you guys are the epitome of professionalism, and your hard work was astounding yet you never lost your good spirits. They started promptly at 8am, showed me the clock before writing it down, and they went until 7:30pm, showing me the clock at the end. I had a close of my sale in the morning, a close of my purchase in the afternoon, and the move all day long. I had friends coordinating, but these guys were magnificent. They're worth every penny and then some. Everything is safe, secure, unbroken, including my walls and stairs. They did this yesterday, so I'm still stunned by my entire day and by these excellent lads and the excellent service I got from Blankenship Movers. Even my ex- hired them! I would definitely use them again.

OK, the setup went smooth. I contacted them through Angie's List, and they responded back short after. Then I called Eric, the guy that responded to me. He asked when did I want to move, where was I moving from and to, and how much was I moving? I gave him the information, and he told me he would check the availability, and get back with me shortly. Eric called me back later that day to let me know that they could move me on the date I needed, and what time would I time would I like them to be there. I told him I was checking first, because I wanted to use the deal they had on Angie's List. He told me that was fine, and to go ahead and use the deal. I went online and paid for the service. It was a 3 men for 2 hours @ $300 deal. The next day Eric called me to confirm everything. The day before the move, the crew-leader called me to confirm that they would be at my home the next morning at 9:00 a.m. He also wanted to confirm the from, and to addresses. I thought that was very professional of this company. The day of the move, the crew-leader called again to inform me they where on their way, and should be at my location on time. They arrived at my location about 15 mins late. The crew-leader explained they got caught up in the morning rush hour traffic, and was very sorry for being late. I was fine with it, because it gave me a little more time to get things together. Plus, I work on the highway myself, and totally understand rush hour traffic. You just never know from day to day how it will be. Well they got straight to work. They ask me what all was going, I showed them, and the move began. Once they loaded everything, off we went to my new location. As they unloaded, they asked where I wanted each item? I told them and that's where they put it. Before long they were done, and presented me with the updated bill. You don't seem to have as much as you think, until you actually move it that is. The updated bill was an additional $165. I was more than OK with that. Because as I watched them, I thought ... that was a lot! So, to move all that stuff for under $500, what a deal. But, the best part was, I came away pain free, and only a couple of small chips on my walls. The guys told me about the chips. They didn't try to hide it, or lie about it. I don't plan on moving again anytime soon. But, if you are I would defiantly recommend the Blankenship Movers Inc.

The three man crew was on time even in poor weather conditions. Each member of the crew introduced themselves and were very professional throughout the move. It was a snowy/slushy day so the crew laid down moving blankets and plastic to prevent tracking snow and water throughout both houses. i had not had time to shovel the sidewalk at the property where the items were being delivered to so the guys shoveled the snow before they brought things into the house. All items made the move with no dings or damage. Overall a great moving experience!

The movers were about 45 minutes late, but, did call to let me know they were stuck in traffic. Hey it happens, it's Chicago. Once they arrived, George, Jason and Juan got to work. They were thorough and took good care of my belongings. When moving you expect a few dings and bumps, so I wasn't upset that there was some bruising to my new house, what upset me is when George attempted to tell me a very serious dent was in my wall already. Other than that, the move went smoothly. The entire move took about 5 hours and forty-five minutes. Much longer that I expected, but, not a bad move.

It went really well - they were on time and finished within the 2 hours for the deal I had gotten through Angie's list. No extra fees or costs. The movers were friendly and professional.

I am a church musician and I own a great deal of music, books and other supplies. I took a new church gig and needed to move all my music. On the day of the move, the men showed up and really everything went well. There was no damaged items. They were all polite and very professional from the start. Everything was moved in a timely fashion. I will definitely use this company again. Though it is more costly using a professional company, the time saved was an excellent investment on my part. I was very happy with this move.

Excellent. Very happy with service. They were a bit late in arriving, but called and let us know they were running late, so that was not a problem. Very efficient and professional. Called the next day to make sure everything went well. Will use again!

They were very professional and accommodating. This was a small job but they treated me as an important customer which I very much appreciated.

The guys were obviously professional and courteous. They moved everything in a quick and organized way. A couple small hiccups, but for this being my first time having movers it went very well.

My recent move using Blankenship Movers, was the BEST moving experience I've ever had. The movers who handled the move (Rob & his crew) were FAST, careful, courteous, and very professional. They not only did what Eric said that they would do, they, in my opinion, went way over and above. This move was for my 86 year old father, and was a very stressful situation. Blankenship movers were very sensitive to his issues, and made the move as stress free as possible. Besides their professionalism, their pricing was very fair. I had a great experience with the moving crew (Juan, Ron and Drew). They showed up early and finished the move BEFORE the estimated time given (which also saved me money). This company was recommended to me by two of my co-workers, who also had positive experiences with this company. I would recommend them to my own friends and family. They moved me from Chicago to a storage unit in Gurnee in a timely manner and without any issues.

I used Blankenship Movers recently and it was a great experience. Not only were the movers prompt and professional, they handled my possessions with the utmost care and consideration. Since I moved from one multi-unit condo building to another, I had to coordinate the use of each freight elevator bank and needless to say, we had very aggressive time constraints. The movers were incredibly mindful of this inconvenience and executed flawlessly. I did not imagine extracting this level of value for the price I paid but Blankenship Movers certainly exceeded expectations. If you have to move, I'd recommend Blankenship Movers without hesitation. I will definitely be using them again for my next move.

Blankenship Movers were a great partner during our hectic relocation this year. My girlfriend and I were moving into a new place of our own, so loading her apartment (after 9 years of occupancy) and mine (after 3 years), required a LOT of work. Couple that with the fact that we moved during one of the hottest weekends in August and it looked like it could be an absolute bear. The team from Blankenship, and the movers that were assigned our job, tackled the work without complaint. Even at our new place, where a steep staircase was the only means of bringing up all of our belongings, our property was treated as if it was their own. Additionally, Eric was very approachable and helped discuss any costs and timing and was thorough in his follow ups. I recommend them for your next move, and ask for Isaac on your crew! That dude is a workhorse.

DO NOT USE ---- the move was terrible. they were supposed to arrive between 2-5pm showed up at 745pm. loaded truck then went to new residence. driver was inexperienced and did not know how to park the truck & the neighborhood business got frustrated because it was his prime business hours. if they were not late this would not have happened. driver then insisted on taking belongings to an overnight storage facility which was going to charge an additional 150. my stuff was already in the truck and i had no recourse. then they arrived the next day and charged an additional 85 delivery fee which i already paid for the prior day's move. in addition to that they broke a lamp and scratched a dresser. then in the end they charged an additional hour for moving which they did not provide. after conversations with eric the owner it was clear he was not professional and just wanted to swindle as much money as possible for the move. so a $350 negotiated move ended up costing $700.

We had some initial issues with Blankenship but Eric went above and beyong in resolving them. We were so impressed with his willingness to remedy the situation and protect his reputation that we subsequently used him for another move when we needed to move stuff from storage to our new home.

First, this is the second time we have used Blackenship Movers so that is a hint of their quality. I just did not get around to reviewing them then so here goes. We were adding a parent to our home and the first move done just before Christmas was a great even though the weather wasn't (4 degrees Farenheit). The crew was phenomenal in both patience and professionalism. No drops, dings or anything given the challenging cold and we were glad there were no injuries nor slips. This first experience went so well we enlisted Lou's services again when the weather warmed up and we could move the last of the big stuff. The second move was as good as the first and done for Valentine's day so while the weather was better it was still quite cool. But Blankenship was up to the task. We had most of the same crew and had the same great results so quality is across the board. While neither job would be considered big, they were treated as such and this is appreciated. I/we recommend Blackenship for their quality and professionalism and attention to your needs.

Moving a dresser or other basic piece of furniture was no surprise. Our concerns were for a curio cabinet with lots of glass panels and parts. Additionally were a large china cabinet with large glass doors with brass accents and you have a good reason to appreciate a good moving crew. This and a couple of luxury lift lazy boys and a lazy boy love seat and you have a lot of things to worry about in terms of weight and fragility. Danny, the other Danny and George were the crew and they were prompt in arriving at the move from site. They put us at ease and there were no dings/scratches on any of the items moved nor the walls/doorways or floors. The price was most reasonable and we have another job scheduled for them soon as we have additional projects requiring their expertise. We look forward to not worrying about the next move.

First they came in a truck that was not large enough. They had to load my husbands truck and the next morning I had to load my car and my husband truck again. Then when they got to the place we were moving too, they took the blankets off of everything. They could not get our couch in the front door as they were trying they damaged the wall, along with our couches. We are renting, so it is not even our house. My husband took the feet off the couch and then there wasn't a problem getting them in. But by then they had scratch brand new couches. They also scratch all our patio chairs. They have scratch almost every piece of our furniture. And now they want to pay us 30 cents per pound which is bascially nothing. Most of my furniture was band new. I have never ever had a problem with movers. I will never use them or recommend them.

They were punctual and behaved professionally but after the fact I found numerous dings and dents that definitely weren't there before. It indicated a general carelessness to me. I had asked ahead of time that they be prepared to lay down protection for floors. Some were newly sanded others newly carpeted. Person on phone said no problem. When the time came they didn't. I didn't bother saying anything at that point. I actually used them twice before and was happy though there were casuslties then too. I chose to overlook them because they were professional and punctual. This time there were just too many casualties to overlook.

December 11th was one of the most stressful days of my life. It snowed on the 10th and the temperature was in the teens. Also, it was moving day! The move was scheduled two weeks in advance. Lou from Blankenship arranged everything and assured me that all would go well. On the day of the move four of the most professional, hard working, sensitive and last but not least, LIKEABLE group of men arrived. After listening to my long list of do's and dont's they began moving my three level house of furniture and belongings. After some hours passed, I began to feel sorry for these hardworking and freezing men who constantly kept my wishes in mind throughout the entire move. Lou was correct. All went well and since my husband and I are DOWNSIZING I promise to get rid of some more items before I call them back for our move to our new house. The West Family

Excellent, AS USUAL! Have used them 3 times before and always excellent.

Met me at my storage unit and they were early. It was nice to get started right away. Took an hour to empty it out and head over to the apartment. About 2 hours there and 2 hours and the final destination. The three guys were friendly and professional. Small moves may be worth doing on your own, but a large move like this would have taken at least twice as long if I did it myself and with friends. I would use these guys again, although I hope to stay put for a while first!

The move went smoothly. Nothing was broken or damaged. They took care with everything. All furniture was padded. Mattresses were shrink wrapped as was all the upholstered furniture. The crew of guys, Carl, Manny, John C., Ralph and Danny were great. John Pontarelli, the VP of Sales was accessible by cell phone and returned my calls promptly. I would recommend them. I was very well satisfied.
