This review is completely inaccurate. We tried everything to help, and both jobs came in exactly at estimate. Please see following email chain. Hi Eric, I don't have time to call the association. All I am asking is to use your company/management discretion to reimburse me me a reasonable amount comparable to the damage (I already sent you the pictures a while back). Similarly, to the $50 credit you applied towards the damage on the sofa on the 1st move. I am also upset you sent a huge truck for the 2nd move knowing it's only 1 bedroom and going to the city of Chicago. There is no sense in going back and forth on this. Just let me know if you will reimbursed based on customer service/discretion or not? I want a reimbursement of $200.00. I have given you a business of $2000 + and two moves. Thanks and have a great weekend! [Member name] (954) 873-6594 We know what we are, but know not what we may be. I have no problem covering the cost you were charged for the damage to the walls, and I am not denying anything. You must give me the form your prior management company provided you with the breakdown of charges for the damages. They confirmed to me that they sent it to you with full itemized details. I simply can not issue you any damage reparations without the breakdown for my records with the ICC. Please call Illinois Movers and Warehouseman's Association and ask for Patricia McGloughlan and she will explain this law to you. It is ILLEGAL for me to issue a repair reparation, or refund, without an itemized, official receipt/statement of damages that we are covering. I can not break the law for you. Please give me the itemized breakdown that American Homes provided you with the full details. Or, call them and give your authority for them to release a copy to me directly. Which your guy surely did and I sent you pictures also. [Member name] (954) 873-6594 We know what we are, but know not what we may be. I can not issue you a damage credit without seeing the BREAKDOWN of the damages you are being charged by your previous landlord. Again, they informed me that the sheet you forwarded to me had the full itemized breakdown of all charges. That is the copy I need. Unless you can provide that to me I can not rectify this for you. I sincerely want to wrap this up and get it taken care of for you, but I need the breakdown for tax purposes, as well as for my legal records. ALL damage claims/repairs that Blankenship pays for or refunds absolutely MUST be documented per ICC rules. My hands are tied, I can not break the law. Please send the correct itemized form they sent you. William Shakespeare From: info@blankenshipmovers.com To: muneerahh@hotmail.com Subject: RE: Move Quote Date: Thu, 6 Aug 2015 19:23:51 +0000 Hi [Member name], I informed you clearly what the estimate was for the 2nd move based on the amount of furniture/material we were moving. I do not understand why you think I should/would refund the move to you? See below: Blankenship Movers Inc 7/29/2015 The estimate is for 3 to 4 hours. So the total would be $480.00 to $600.00. You will be pre-paying $330.00 of that, so you will owe between $150.00 and $270.00 when the job is complete. Eric [Member name] 7/29/2015 I just paid. I am hoping you would give some kind of credit for the damage with this 2nd move. Your guys already wrapped during the 1st move. So, I am hoping it's going to be the low end of the range. I can be here at 1309 Rand Road Des Plaines at 10 AM. If you felt that the estimate was to high for you then you should have informed me that you were going another direction/with a different company. This job came in exactly as I estimated it to you. As far as the damage to the walls from your 1st move, I told you we will take care of that, and we will. But I also made clear to you that I needed to see the billing breakdown from your management company. I can not just pay any sum as I need to be able to provide an invoice for tax purposes and legal business deductions at years' end. Blankenship Movers Inc 7/27/2015 Hi [Member name], I am always willing and able to take care of any situation that arose from a Blankenship move. However, we should have been given the opportunity by this management company to fix the wall, which is a simple inexpensive patch job. (happens all the time) I would need to see an itemized break down from them to see what they are trying to charge/hold back from your deposit. I will definitely credit you something fair and reasonable for the repair, but it wouldn't be $700.00 They have to, by law, provide you with a breakdown of what they are withholding from your deposit and an itemized list of said items. Do not let them tell you otherwise. I will call them and secure the details for you if you'd like, and they will be happy to discuss it with me as they are looking for money. Let me know. Regards, Eric. I Just called American Homes and they informed me that they absolutely provided a description of the damage breakdown on the sheet you emailed me? As I already knew, and informed you, they have to provide a breakdown of charges per law, and they confirmed this with me. They said the breakdown was on there when they sent it to you? I'm a little confused? We provided a great service to you, and came in at estimate both moves, so no surprises. In addition, I represented that we would happily repair the damages/scuffs/abrasions to the wall, as any reputable company would. All that I asked for was the breakdown of charges so that we can have a verifiable receipt for tax purposes which is standard business practice for any legitimate company. I can not authorize what you are asking for [Member name], it isn't even close to reasonable. I need to see the breakdown of that $532.42 damage charge. American Homes will not discuss your details of charges, but they are willing to confirm what numbers I can provide them. Let me know. Please reimburse per our conversation verbally and on comments under Angie's List. Also, I am very disappointed in the last 1 bedroom (2nd) move you did. The job cost $570, which is not reasonable for a 1 bedroom. You moved my house in June, which was 4 bedroom, an office, 2 living (formal & family) & 2 dining (formal 8 seating & 4 seating) for $1400. It went to two locations 50 miles away (Oswego to Des Plaines and Northfield) with two trucks/5 guys. This 2nd move had one of these bedroom set with one dining and a couch, which didn't even make it to the apartment (no fault of yours). In my opinion, this was barely 25% of the total furniture from the 1st move. Should not have been more than $400. In addition, the guys/helpers you sent with Manny were not as efficient as the guys that came with the 1st move. Moreover, your guy took so much time commuting due to truck not passing through the overpass/bridge. If you knew that the stuff is going in the city (11 miles from Des Plaines pick up location dock to dock), you should not have sent such a huge truck. You should have sent a small truck. Specially, for a limited one bedroom stuff. What I received was a meager $30 credit. What I am asking now to rectify all this is to credit me the $240 you charged me on my credit card in addition to the $330 I paid through Angie's List for the damages with the 1st move and the aggravation/inconvenience for the 2nd move. Let me know what you are going to do as soon as possible Thanks
