They were phenomenal.They came in and assessed what to do and how to do it. Then they got to work. The guys worked in teams to wrap/box up my house, load it on trucks, and brought the boxes to my new house. When they got to my new house, everything was unpacked and put where I wanted it. I was so pleased with the way they worked and how easy the move was.

Managing partner prompt in phone replies, professional. Actual move day arrived early. However, move was not efficiently done. Moving company I used before used the elevators in high rises efficiently to stay within allotted two hour window. These guys did not and caused serious problems due to not finishing until nearly 5 hours after reserved elevator time (time reserved was the one that the managing partner recommended to get reserved). Two head guys on crew were methodical and careful. Last guy (with whom manager is following up because he was a new hire) was cavalier, unprofessional, very rough with boxes (I had to ask him to stop pushing and stuffing a box clearly labeled fragile at one point), complained about his job, talked on the phone, and did not consistently work. He also asked use to remove review and if we didn't he would charge our card more money. He charged our card more money since we didn't remove review.

Blankenship Movers was the perfect solution for an unexpected move for my wife and I! The workers were professional, showed up on time, and got things done fast. Eric, the business manager, was reasonable and very helpful throughout the whole process.

The movers showed up on time (although there were some mixups with them calling the wrong phone number despite me having asked it to be changed multiple times) and were very friendly! I only had my bedroom and kitchen stuff so it was a pretty small move. They moved everything with no damage to my furniture (although they did scratch the door of my new apartment) and helped set everything up for me!! I had booked 3 movers for 2 hours, and as I've moved multiple times I figured this would be more than enough time as I was moving less than a mile away and in the past it's taken very little time to pack up all of my stuff, including when I moved across the country. The move ended up taking 3 hours so I had to pay above and beyond the Angie's List coupon cost. All in all it was still a good rate compared to some of the other prices I had been quoted when I was searching for moving companies so I was happy with it, however they didn't have the tools needed to dismantle my bed so I think that added a bit of unnecessary time as they tried to figure it out (eventually one of them found it). Overall I would recommend Blankenship movers to someone else & would book them again.

After reading all the good reviews we decided to use Blankenship Movers for our rent move. Our move was a hard one as we lived on the 3rd floor without elevator. The move wasn't uneventful, one guy got injured and something got damaged. However, that is the very reason I was happy with my choice. Their business manager and other managers were easy to work with and helped us to resolve the problems. The company is big enough to care about their customers and their reputations, but yet small enough that you get to dial a number and directly talk to the person who is in charge (not a coordinator who can only takes your info and promises to call back).

Three guys showed up to help me move. They were fantastic. Got the job done in 2 hours with no problems. They were sweet, funny, professional, helpful, I would use them again without a doubt!

For the most part they were really good but there was a couple of things that I just never had the time to address. Something like the broken lamp shade and there was a couple of other things that I can't remember. It wasn't anything big but I still can't find a couple of other things because I told them to pack it in a certain spot and they didn't, so now I don't know where they are at. Evidently there was a break down in communication because I told them everything in one room, in one place and for some unknown reason the thing that they broke the lamp shade on, they put in my dinning room that was supposed to go in the storage. Then the bed that they didn't want to put...the bed that I moved from my mother's to my house, they didn't want to put that in the house. They just figured they'd use the one I had and then after they put it into the storage bin and buried it, we found out it wouldn't fit. Now I am messed up with that. So there is just a few little things like that. I paid them a couple of times because they had to come back one more day because they didn't get everything. It was a little on the high side but okay. They were real careful except for the lamp shade.

Considering the weather, things went as smooth as could be expected. Workers went the extra mile in effort and time. One problem or two but Eric stepped up and offered a fair and acceptable solution.

The movers were good but were wasting some time. There were many occasions that they were standing around watching each other. There was one guy that kept getting help from another mover to put his rope around 2 boxes. For the time it took them, each mover could have made two trips with one box out each. This was just what I observed in my crew, I know each crew work differently.

Excellent. 3-person crew came with a truck and completed the job in 2 hours. They were delayed on the way due to tireburst on the interstate but I was instantly notified about the delay and once they arrived they immediately go to work. It was exceptionally hot, almost 100F but they moved everything to a 2-floor walk-up unit quite efficiently.

Amazingly well. It was 90+ degrees all day and they never complained. In fact, they were still cracking jokes when the last piece of furniture came off the truck. Nothing phased them, no matter the weight or the awkwardness of the item. We were unsure how it would go but there were absolutely no bad surprises. They came early, worked without a break in the hot sun and charged exactly what they said they would, which was more than fair.

From scheduling to execution, the move went flawlessly. Eric was easy to reach and he worked with me to get my moved scheduled and executed as soon as possible. Johnny and his crew called me in the morning to let me know their ETA to the North Shore to load the truck and then again after the truck was loaded, they checked in to give me their ETA to Chicago. They worked quickly and efficiently to unload, set everything up and were extremely tidy! The whole Blankenship team was polite, friendly and respectful and the move was on schedule and on budget - no hidden or unexpected charges. Highly recommend them!

The 3 guys that came were fantastic. I highly recommend them. They were fast and worked their tails off. Highly recommend. Will definitely use again if I move again.

This was the second time Johnny and his crew handled a move for me, and it couldn't have gone better. They got the truck loaded very quickly, and even beat me getting to the condo. Despite having to climb three flights of stairs on a very warm day with no air conditioning, it took only two hours to get everything out of the storage unit and into the condo. Couldn't have asked for a better moving experience, and Blankenship will definitely be at the top of the list for any future moves.

They were really nice and professional, gave us some space as we were driving to the new location, and managed to handle me with care when I burst into tears a few times. I hate moving, and they made it easier. I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write a review. I cannot recall the exact cost. I purchased a deal from Angie's list, then paid some more. It was not bad at all.

Awesome- Drew and his crew were very friendly, very efficient and kept it to 2 hours, almost exactly.

Movers showed up on time, surveyed the house and IMMEDIATELY began loading boxes and wrapping tv's and furniture. More than two truckloads were required, but with 6 movers, it was handled in good time. Price was agreed upon before the move (hourly rate) and there were no problems. We had only a short window in which to move and they even had a couple of option days from which to pick.

The guys arrived on time and worked extremely hard all day. They moved several pieces of exercise equipment, large televisions, and couches. They were super kind and courteous to our family as well as the neighbors. We hope that we don't move again for a while, but if we did we would definitely use Blankenship again. We have already recommended them to family and friends.

Flawless move from the original call to the end. Outstanding customer service, movers kept me informed from the time they left there business location. They were professional, competent and so accommodating in each step of the move. You could not have asked for more helpful, great personalities, bend over backwards to accommodate you movers. This is by far the very best moving experience we have had. Was shocked at price and it was easily worth twice what they charged.

TL;DR Had a fantastic experience with Blankenship Movers. Would strongly recommend. I received a call a few days before my move from Blankenship to discuss the move. They had me outline what was going to be moved and were upfront and clear with all costs and how many movers I would need and for how long. I ended up needing more than the two movers offered by the Angie's List special offer. We decided that three movers would be able to handle the job. The movers called ahead, showed up on time, and had me show them where everything was that needed to be moved. After that, I just stood out of their way and let them work. I was impressed with the efficiency with which they put my furniture into the truck, especially since my old place had some tight corners. There was an additional cost for moving the piano, but seeing how much care they took with it (wrapping it in furniture pads and securing it with plastic wrap), I was happy to pay the additional fee. This was a relatively small move as I had already moved most of my belongings myself; however, after seeing Bankenship Movers at work, I wouldn't hesitate to call upon them again to move a lot more for me (for example, their truck had a dozen wardrobe boxes for transporting clothes — normally a pain to move — directly from closet to closet). The cost was $40/person/hour plus a $40/person fee to cover driving out and driving back plus a $125 fee for moving the upright piano. They credited me for the amount I paid through Angie's List and paying by credit card for the rest was quick and easy. The only unexpected thing to occur was that, this being my first time using movers, I was unaware that tipping the movers is expected. That said, the level of service I was provided was sufficiently phenomenal such that a generous tip was well-deserved.

Johnny and his crew did a fantastic job. They showed up right on time, and wasted no time as they got all the furniture prepped and into the truck. When we got to the storage facility, they quickly coordinated sharing the one elevator with two other groups of people moving in and out. They even helped the other two groups get their things loaded in and out of the elevator to move everything along more quickly, and we got everything taken care of in only two hours.

Eric and Blankenship Movers completely saved us this week. Unfortunate circumstances required a last minute move. I called late on the Friday before Memorial Day to find a mover for one bedroom of furniture and goods on Wednesday, June 1. He was the only one out of 10 that I called that afternoon that found availability for us. He was sympathetic to our situation, found a way to make it work and booked our move in just minutes. The movers were prompt, professional and efficient. They asked a lot of questions to be sure they got everything packed properly and then put everything in the right place at the new apartment. Will recommend them to everyone we know in Chicago! Thank you so much!

It worked out well. I may have paid for something small but it wasn't a major difference. It was something a little extra, maybe like $50 or $100 extra. I understand how that business works, they get over there and they want to like add on extra costs. That is not their fault. That is the fault of the person that is hiring them to move for totally underestimating how much they add. Before they came out, I told them exactly what I wanted. I had everything ready and I told them to get what they needed to get. Why I ended up paying extra was, the time the clock starts/the way they set it up is the clock starts once they leave their facility and so, you are being charged for their travel time also. So when they do an hour of driving and an hour of driving here, they only get to work for an hour. But for 4 people working hard including myself, it can get done. I think the biggest mistake people make is trying to think that they can squeeze their whole move in to these deals and it is not meant for that. Please be realistic about your time and make sure that you try to have everything as ready as possible or know exactly what there are going to move. Don't have them come there while you are packing. It doesn't matter what mover you bring there, they are not going to come there and start taking things for free and packing them without pay/charging you. They work hard. You see these guys coming in there and they are half the size of the person who is moving and they are carrying refrigerators on their back. You have got to give them a lot of credit for what they do. The workers were good. It is over a year and I still remember that day. We all worked hard together. They put down the rugs and my carpets. They did a good job. They got the job done.

Great service. They were very quick and efficient, showed up ready to work and got the job done in record time. At my new house they unpacked everything and put it all in the right place as we directed. Great job overall.
