Highly professional company. Love the fact that they don't nickel and dime (charging for tape, blankets, etc.) and the price is fixed upfront. Headboard broke during the move and they got that fixed immediately.

Money was stolen from my purse...over the course of the day $50 and my deceased husband's Swiss utility knife. When reported to the lead person, he swore the members of his team would never do such a thing. I made a police report although I didn't view them taking the money so nothing could be done. It's unmistakeable that one of them stole the money from my wallet that was in my purse where the Swiss utility knife was also located. They failed to move two closets of clothes, shelves and multiple other heavy items. After crying on the phone the next day, it was arranged for them to come the following day to get the rest of the things. They charged me an additional $100.00 although Sean said it would be $50.00 per person, I asked to only send one person cause I couldn't afford more. The second day went better except the glass shelves were left on the truck and Sean would not accept or return my call in order for me to retrieve those items.

Perfect. It could not have gone better. They confirmed the details the day before, confirmed arrival time before it began and showed up ready to work, and work hard they did. They paid great attention to detail, protection of our property and wasted no time.

Arrived later than first stated since had to come from Chicago to central IL. Called to notify they would be late. Crew was efficient and very polite. They worked quickly to load the truck. All of the items were wrapped well and arrived undamaged. Their truck broke down on the way to new destination. They called to let us know, and while they arrived later than expected, they were still very polite and efficient. (They didn't get paid while waiting for another truck) They kept us informed and worked hard. i would recommend them and use them again without reservation.

They made our move seamless. Wilson, Jason and Luis were professional and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with set up and furniture placement. Prompt with start time and stayed until all issues addressed. I would highly recommend this company. We did have a small problem with scratches of wood floors but Blankenship took care of it quickly and to our satisfaction.

As well as a move can possibly go. Eric at Blankenship was super helpful from the first time I called. The guys showed up on time, and they were real pros. Our move was estimated to take 8-12 hours...they got it done in six. When the city made them move the truck (as luck would have it they were paving our street that day), the crew found a way to keep working. Not a scratch on our new house or any of our stuff. I hope I don't move for a long, long time...but if I do, I'll use Blankenship for certain. Best experience I've ever had with a mover.

Paid for this service and he called and said they weren't really doing these deals right now as "it was their busy season". I don't understand how you sell a deal that you "CANT DO RIGHT NOW". If you notice his bad reviews it is always a mistake or they have the wrong mover. I 100% HAVE THE right mover- he called once- said they were too busy but he "would see what he could do" and never called back or returned all 4 of my messages. Still waiting to get my money back from Angies list.

Worst move ever. The move took all night and they still weren't finished yet they had to come back. And when they came back they still weren't finished. They refused to bring things in the basement that belonged in the basement. They left them in the garage for my 70-year-old husband to take downstairs which is not fair. for that is why we hired them. I could not find my clothes for a few weeks and then then I started bugging them to tell me where my clothes were and when they did I found them. My husband's clothes were thrown in a closet box not hung up. Things were taken apart and not put back together again. My clawfoot table was broken amongst other things. It was a mess. It's been almost a month and we're still straightening out things from what they left. A move shouldn't be that hard and with them it was . It cost us over $4000 for this move and it was a rip off do not hire them !

Rudy, Luis R., and Marcelino were awesome! They were very professional and efficient during the entire move. These guys were willing to get the job done. Would highly recommend, they made moving a breeze and stress-free.

Very smoothly. All three guys -- Wilson, Al and Adam -- were terrific. They were very fast and efficient, yet very careful at the same time. Clearly knew what they were doing. In addition, they were very friendly and professional. Would definitely use them again for a local move.

Great!!! The guys (Andrew, Jason, and Angel) worked really hard and efficiently. They shrink-wrapped the beds, love seat, and recliner, and were careful with all of the furniture, especially the potentially fragile items (like my glass dinner table, African art, and multiple framed large pictures. Check this out in terms of keeping to the estimate: my estimate was 4 hrs labor plus fuel charge. When we hit the 4 hr. mark, the movers were not through. Andrew said he was going to (and did) stop the clock while they finished the move so that my move would be within the estimate!

Before the move, I expressed concern that it might not be possible to move a long dresser due to the ceiling height and hallway corners. I was glibly told "if they got it in, they can get it out". I told them that I was on a tight schedule and would like to know in advance if there would be any problems to avoid delays. They sent someone out to measure who declared that the dresser was 6ft long, and there would be no problem setting it on end. I asked "what if there is a problem?" He looked over the 4th floor balcony and explained that they would be able to hoist it. On moving day, the movers called back the same man who came out and said that the dresser is 7 feet, they won't be able to move it and that they would not be able to hoist it. They ended up coming back and sawing the dresser in half to get it out. When we got to the resale shop, the movers set down a heavy executive desk on one leg damaging it. The people at the resale shop observed it happening. They could not accept the desk in that condition. The movers indicated that I was making too big a deal of it. I wrote the office explaining what had happened. I spoke with Eric who said the movers may not have been more careful since I was giving away the furniture rather than keeping it. He agreed that that was not a good reason and that he felt everything should be treated with care. He said he wanted to make me happy. I thought about what might be a reasonable compensation. Since the resale shop, which supports local schools, might have made $100 from the desk - it was good quality and solid wood - I suggested he make a donation to them or other charity in whatever amount he felt appropriate - and perhaps have the movers chip in a nominal amount - maybe $5 each. He countered that he would make a donation of $100 if I would agree not to publicly disparage him or his movers. He also said that he would be willing to pay $17 as the desk was insured for $0.30/lb. I pointed out that a solid wood executive desk would weigh much more that $50 - I sent examples from Amazon that ranged between 169 and nearly 300 lb. He said that the desk itself was not damaged but just the leg and that $17 was more than fair. I didn't want to take him up on an offer since it bothered me that I would not be able to give a review. Since he is highly rated on Angies List, he certainly benefits from reviews. But if only good experiences are reported, then reviews will lose their credibility, and ultimately their value even for companies that get good reviews.

Great, The movers, Phil, Drew and Leo were very good. They arrived between the time agreed went over the contract, and started wrapping, packing and moving the boxes and furniture. This turned into a larger move than I had thought, but all 3 men did their best to get everything done not only as fast as they could but also with great care to the items. Once arrived at the new place, they unloaded quickly, set up things that needed to be set u, and were just a pleasure to work with, efficient, professional, and actually funny. I would use them again.

The first thing that I liked about Blankenship was the reasonable quote and the promise that there would be no further charges. Eric asked lots of questions to get all the information he needed and then got back to me (very quickly) with the quote. With the research I had done with other moving companies, I knew that this was a very fair quote. The good quote along with the Angie's List reviews sold me on these movers. Communication with everyone involved went well. Eric said that someone would call and text the day before as well as the morning of the move (and they did!). Carl, Alberto, and Manny showed up on time and were very professional. We showed them the storage unit, they positioned the truck, and then they began. They were very careful and made the effort to wrap things very well. When you watch the things you care about (the curly maple dresser that Grandpa made) get moved, your heart is in your throat. These guys wrapped, taped, and strapped items so they were safe. They worked quickly and efficiently, but were not careless. We appreciated that. The other thing we liked about these guys was that they worked so well together. No one complained, made faces, or was negative. They cracked jokes and teased each other. The truth could be that they hated each other, but you would never know that. The positive vibe was good. The next morning Carl and Alberto were at our new home and on time. They wanted to see the layout of the house and know where we wanted things. They told me that my job was to direct them where to deliver the furniture and boxes. Items that were to go in places that restricted access were staged out of the way until the end. That happened because they asked questions. It was a hot, sunny day and the truck had to be parked in the sun. No one complained. When Throughout the move they told us what they were doing and spoke to us very respectfully. We were very pleased with Blankenship Movers and especially Carl, Albert, and Manny. We highly recommend them for any kind of move.

Friendly, fun, and efficient team led by Phil. They did a great job on day 1 with a full pack of a large, 3rd floor walk-up condo. Phil, Rudy, and Louis were wonderful. It took about 5.5 hours to pack up an immense amount of stuff. Day 2 was moving day and everyone knew they were in for a long one. It took about 9 hours to complete the move including some bed assemblies. I would definitely recommend Blankenship and would use them again. Pricing and timing were competitive.

Crew was friendly, professional and punctual. Moving ran significantly longer than anticipated. Cost ran over the maximum in range quoted by almost 25% (and over the minimum by over 50%).

This was a two-step move due to closing date of sale and the move-in date for the new place. Only problem was due to the lateness of the move-out which started at 3 p.m. Two of the three movers were upset that my job was too big for a late afternoon move; said it should have been a morning move. The crew for the move-in was in a much better mood.

Our original crew was delayed, and Luis and Matt stepped up to come do the move. They were professional, efficient, careful, and friendly - everything you want people moving your belongings to be! Special props to them both for coming to help us even though their workday was already done.

They were accommodating when getting my piano moved in the time that I needed it.
