We wound up using a different service provider, who confirmed that it was a bird blocking the fan, removed the blockage, and the furnace now functions as expected (the second service provider charged us about $175 for the service).

called the day before, arrived on time, confident and knowledgeable technician, made sure I knew that the unit is out of date and is, therefore, no where near as efficient or as effective as a newer one would be. Gave an estimate on replacing the unit without any undo pressure to have it done.

Our furnace went down for the 2nd time this year. We had bought the Goodman furnace in 2005. Every year a sensor or something else had to be replaced. The company we usually called could not come out so I went online and found great reviews for Besco. I called and they were here in 20 minutes. They got the furnace running but it failed throughout the day. Besco came back twice that day. Their honesty about the system and the problem it was experiencing was honest and thorough. At any and every opportunity they discussed options to save us money. The furnace required more money to repair than it was worth but Besco was going to give it a try. We decided that the furnace was a lemon and went with Besco for a new furnace. The professionalism, the service, the people are outstanding from this company. Service, sales, and the office staff AAA+++. From the minute you make that call you are treated wonderfully. Today we received a card thanking us for choosing Besco. That is the icing on the cake.

Besco Air deserves the A rating they have obtained on Angies List. Our furnace went out, and they were very responsive in sending someone out promptly. Since it was an emergency call, the prices seemed pretty high at first. The technician, Sergio Morales, was very quick in diagnosing the problem though, and we were only charged for the initial response because of his efficiency. He was able to get our furnace up and running for the night, and then came back the next morning to change the parts that needed replacement. The parts were covered by warranty, so the cost for labor was well worth it considering the promptness in taking care of the problem and customer service, including those answering the phone. We will definitely be using them in the future as they seem to be honest and provide a high quality service.

These guys are terrific! My main floor furnace went out last Tuesday (2nd coldest day of year), and after calling around to multiple repair companies, Besco was able to get me on their schedule for the following day. Even "my" HVAC guys - Four Seasons - whom I'm an active customer with, couldn't even come until four days after my call. Not only did Besco get me on their schedule, they immediately tried to help me troubleshoot the potential problem over the phone. I think Joe easily spent 20 mins with me. Unfortunately, we couldn't identify the issue over the phone, but I'm extremely grateful that he made the attempt at saving me some money. And talk about saving money, before I hung up, they made sure that I was aware of the Angie's List coupon that I could use for the next day! During the visit, the service tech was extremely professional, communicated throughout the process, and eventually got my furnace back up and running. It's still unclear what the issue was, but I'm happy to have heat and to have had such a good experience with Besco under tough conditions. I will absolutely use them for all my future HVAC needs.

The technician was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything about what was wrong with the furnace and what needed to be replaced. He quickly processed the Angie's list service call documents with no problem. I was able to schedule an installation appointment and the part was delivered on time and installed when promised. I was a little taken aback at the price of the part, but other than that, I was impressed with Besco Air.

A couple days before the actual appointment, my furnace stopped working due to another issue. The provider was able to come promptly and resolve the issue within an hour.

Went great... would use them again

They were terrible. They were supposed to put the furnace on Canadian blocks and put it on foreign blocks and then there were air spaces in the heating unit, and it was a terrible job. The price is acceptable.

We called Besco after our furnace was failing to turn on during the bitter cold of 1/7/14. This was around 7PM. We had called two other places that could not send a tech for 48 hours or more so we turned to Besco, which paged a tech to call us if they could come out that night. The tech called back within 15 minutes and suggested we do four things to see if we could get the furnace to work. 1) Change the batteries on the thermostat; 2) check/replace the air filter; 3) check the power switch on the furnace to make sure it was on and 4) Check the circuit breaker. We did those things and once we flipped the circuit breaker, the heat came back on and worked throughout the night. The tech was willing to come in the morning, but the tips over the phone saved him a trip and us the cost of a visit on a busy night for HVAC companies. Besco also called us in the morning to see if we still wanted a tech to come out.

My furnace was acting up from the deep freeze. Besco was helpful on the phone when I requested service, and although the technician missed the initial service window due to other clients running long, they were very prompt at keeping me posted as to when the technician would arrive. The tech was very friendly and professional, was able to get right to the problem, and left me feeling that everything was back to working order. I was also able to use the Angie's List deal which made it all very reasonably priced.

Our heater suddenly went out today (the coldest day in Chicago), and my husband called Jim at Besco to see if someone was willing to come out. They had a list of clients waiting to get their heating fixed, so Jim tried to assist my husband over the phone on what the problem most likely is. My husband took his advice, went outside, and tried what he told him to do, and it worked!!! I think it's so great that Jim was willing to help us, without charging us. We will definitely use him when we need to!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it turned out very good. They were pretty good and the service many who came pointed out that the last people who had serviced my unit looked like they intentionally damaged a few things to encourage repeat business, so that was pretty nice of him. The service man who came out was early for the appointment and was nice and courteous.

I can't recommend them highly enough. They were super-responsive, had an estimate done ASAP, replaced the furnace within the next day or so, and did everything very professionally. They took their time to talk us through all the options, explained everything very thoroughly, and made us feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. They even took care of processing the paperwork for us to get our People's Gas credit. And the overall cost ended up being a bit less than we had expected. So, our overall experience with everyone at Besco was just excellent!

Besco's Joe Pedota came within 24 hours, looked at it, and said, rather than pay me hundreds to lengthen the pipe, I'd call your floor guys, tell them to come back and drill two holes in the floor to set the two radiator legs closest to the pipe into, and you're level again with the pipe. He added it's their responsibility, so they should do it for free. And they did. My point: Joe could have just done the job and charged me, but instead he was honest and helpful and saved me some serious cash. You can trust Joe to do what's right for you. I highly recommend Besco.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very well. I paid additional because they had to add some freon.

Another company told me my entire unit was shot and I had to replace the whole a/c unit. I had Besco come out for a second look before I made such a big purchase and they fixed it with some replacement parts and new Freon. Saved me thousands and I'll use then for the future without a doubt.

They e-mailed me to call and set up and appointment after I bought the $40 coupon with all my information. the person who answered the phone said the $40 coupon was just the price for coming to the house to tell me what was wrong with the furnace. I mistakenly thought that the $40 paid for cleaning the furnace. The serviceman who came to the house professional clean the furnace and I paid the $89.99 cost.

The gentleman arrived right on time, checked, cleaned out my furnace and cautioned me that it had been long overdue. He changed the filter and left me feeling a whole lot better. I will call this company again every year.

Everything was absolutely excellent. We ended up having set a new furnace and air-conditioner and they did it. And this is a condo in Chicago and my daughter lives there, they were incredibly wonderful. He explained everything very well to my daughter. He explained all the options and what each system was capable of doing and would save her in the end, et cetera. They came exactly when they said they would and put in the new system. They were fairly priced.

The technician arrived on time and very professional to deal with. He spent almost 3 hours cleaning my unit (since the previous heating contractor did such a poor job - and yes I reviewed them on Angie's). After the cleaning he did a safety inspection and pointed out several wear items on my old boiler unit that should be addressed. Once completed he itemized all of his recommendations so that we could investigate them on our own. This thoroughness allows us to make plans for when we'd eventually like to have the unit replaced.

Henry arrived promptly and was very friendly and professional. He diagnosed the problem with my unit and resolved the issue immediately. It was more than a pleasure to work with Henry I will be calling Besco when I do maintenance for the summer.

First things first - service itself was fine - furnace checked out - service tech Jonathan was knowledgeable, helpful, and did a good job. Good at explaining things, and efficient. Ultimately what disappoints me is that I was cancelled on not once, but twice when I scheduled. The first day I scheduled I had to schedule about 3-4 weeks in advance. When that day came, they called and said they were overrun by emergency calls and would have to resx. Fine - understand that these things happen; however, about an hour or two later, I got a call from the tech asking for more detailed directions to my unit and parking info. When I asked him if he was actually coming bc of my conversation with dispatch, he checked again, and then ended up not providing service. The second day I scheduled, they called me AGAIN saying that they had a number of calls and would have to reschedule. I understand emergencies happen in an HVAC industry, but we do live in Chicago. It's cold. Furnances go out. Staff more people - be better prepared so you can take care of scheduled appts and emergencies that come up. After I put up a bit of a stink, things were rearranged, and I got them to send someone over, about 2-3 hours after initially scheduled time, at a slightly reduced rate. Work itself was fine, as mentioned above. Again, tech was knowledgable, for what was ultimately straightforward work.

Troubleshot a problem with our A/C not turning on.

I called a bunch of companies, and Basco was the only one that they were able to find a way to fit the service in the schedule on the same day. They gave me a window time of when they were going to arrive and arrived 15 mins after the window time, but did call a few mins prior to the closing window time ended. It took 15mins to do the job and charged my card and never received a receipt for the service.
