+ 0 moreExcellent! Excavation crew was on-time everyday. Cleaned up each evening. Washed down the alley and swept the garage. Very polite. Worked very hard. The installation crew was on-time every day. Cleaned up each evening. Very detail oriented and did not try to cut corners. Outstanding job!
Description of Work: Install unilock patio and walkway. Removed concrete step into the garage, poured new bigger step of concrete which then unilock pavers were placed on top. Created a herringbone design for the patio and designed an 8 point start in the center. Removed all grass, dirt and concrete.

+ -1 moreEdgar from Aztec has to be one of the nicest and most responsive contractors I've done business with so far. He is passionate about what he does, and always answered my questions in a timely manner. Our project was delayed a bit by some unforeseen difficulties related to our porch construction. Edgar was very understanding and paused work while we had the issue taken care of. After we finished the repairs, Edgar's crew resumed work quickly after that. The crew that worked on my project was also very friendly and seemed like they enjoy what they do as well. I look forward to having Aztec come back out for Spring maintenance next year.
Description of Work: Design drawings, demolish and excavate 600sqf concrete patio, install new unilock paver patio, sidewalk, and retaining wall. Demolish and replace front porch stairway landing with Whitacre Greer clay brick pavers.

+ -1 moreIt was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went really well. It was worth the deal. The guy was very detailed, he explained the entire process, laid everything out, and gave me a bunch of flyers. He explained to me what it would look like so he gave me a pretty good visual of what to expect. He did a good job. The price was good for the design. I didn't end up using them ultimately for the job. Their responsiveness was great.
Description of Work: Aztec Stone Design gave me a 3-D design of what the patio will look like if I go with them as far as doing some brick stone design.

I am extremely pleased with the quality of the work and commitment to making sure no detail was missed. This is my second time working with aztec and not my last. They use quality materials and ensure that my work is solid and will last me for many years. They had higher standards than the city of highland park when it came to grade and amount of backfill required. I Highly recommend them above their competitors as I see my neighbors use contractors that may do nice work but it does not stay that way for long.
Description of Work: Edgar and his crew replaced my driveway, front entrance, side entry and back yard slab of concrete.

Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for outdoor living space evaluation plan. Edgar contacted me within a day of having purchased the deal. I scheduled an appointment and he showed up at the appointed time. After I explained what I had in mind, he took the measurements and got back to me in a few days with the design plan. We met several times after the initial meeting to look at samples of the stones we are considering for a patio. Edgar was professional and responsive to all my concerns.

+ 0 moreEdgar did a great job working as a general contractor of sorts on our job. His compnay Aztec hired a subcontractor to do the demolition of our deck and rebuild the back steps. Then his guys came in and prepared the foundation for the patio and laid the bricks. I have nothing but good things to say about Aztec. The crew worked hard and didn't overlook any details. We love our new back yard!
Description of Work: Ripped out old deck, rebuilt wood framed steps to our back door and laid a 200 sqft circular brick paver patio plus walkways connecting patio to garage and front of house.

+ 0 moreThe initial consultation with Edgar went very well. He explained all the different stone and design options and was very knowledgeable. He initially gave an earlier start date date for the project when we agreed to the scope of work but weather held back the work for a couple of weeks. What I expected to be about 3 days of work ended up being only 1 and 1/2 days. Edgar had a four man team that worked extremely well and the bulk of the work was completed on the first day. The first day included the excavation, gravel, tamping, and initial layout for the design. The next day they completed the paver design and finished off the job with sand. We are very pleased with the finished look of our patio and are ready to enjoy the rest of summer.

Description of Work: I had a long unilock brick walk in front of my house leading to a side patio,with a walk leading to a back patio. All of the brick and plastic side holders were sunken,twisted and most had moved from the side plastic holders. They had to remove the bricks, add gravel and sand and reinstall. After this was done they power washed the bricks and sealed everything. they came on Sunday because I was having a July 4th party. It took from Sunday to Thursday of intensive work to finish the job. It is perfect. I called four other companies given to me by Angies list. All took at least 2 days to call back. One sent a man that quoted me a price of 3,500 for just repair. He had no estimate paper work with him and said he would email me the price and never did. Another company from angies list made an appointment and never showed up. This company aztec Stone is a gem. I couldn"t say enough good things about it. The owner came out every day to make sure every was done right.
