On the initial install, one of the deadbolts functioned and the other did not. It was about two weeks later that they came with a replacement. I knew it had to be special ordered from the manufacturer but was a bit concerned that I had to reach out a couple of times to see where we were in the waiting process.

When our condominium building intercom system started working erratically, I called several locksmiths for estimates on repair or replacement. The employees at Ashland Lock spent time with me on the phone discussing my options before sending a technician to give an estimate. The estimate corresponded exactly to what we discussed in advance, however, the technician went on vacation without sending me the written proposal and it took several phone calls and confusing conversations before it was emailed to me. I opted to replace the existing intercom panel with a more weather-resistant model. The technician was prompt and efficient. The new intercom panel looks great and functions well. The only downside was that the project cost an extra $50 for a back panel (which the technician also had to leave the site to acquire) -- the new intercom was smaller than the previous model -- the initial estimate might have taken the size difference into account.

Their proposal was quick. They were very timely in their initial response. After the initial installation, they did a lot of trouble shooting for us over a period of two months. It was great that they did the troubleshooting for us. They were really helpful with the troubleshooting. It was a good price.

I scheduled and initial appointment and they were very busy and it was a few days away. I asked if something would open up if they could call and come earlier, please do. Well, they did, and ended up coming that day. It was great. The locksmith who showed up was very professional and a nice guy. He went out of his way to make sure every lock or door he worked on was in good working order. Even if I did not point out a problem. One of the doors had an issue he did not have a part for, so he came back a few days later to fix the problem and did not charge for the visit, just the part. I am very pleased. So much so, I went to their store to get extra keys made, just to support their business. I would use them again in a heart beat.

I have used Ashland Lock for years for various projects and they have been good. However, something has changed there and it disappoints me. The attitude of the staff is bordering on rude. I had spoken to Sean about replacing/repairing the hydraulic hinge on our door, as well as the key tumbler that is sticking. He told me that the hinge we have is junk and it's a wonder our door ever worked (I've lived here almost 9 years and have never had a problem before). Then, he said the reason our tumbler is broken is because we are lazy and open the door by pulling on the key versus the door knob. Not impressed with the unprofessional nature of insulting a customer but I chose to ignore that. He said he had an appointment at 2pm Monday or 10am Tuesday. We went with Tuesday at 10am, but after I hung up, I realized I couldn't make it at 10am Tuesday. So I called back and he said he would come at 2pm on Monday. Well, he never showed up on Monday. I called back that afternoon and left a voice mail. I called again Tuesday morning and they said I was on the schedule for Tuesday at 10am. I explained that I had changed that appointment and the person I spoke with said he didn't know what to tell me. No apology, no courteous tone, nothing. Just "what do you want me to do about it" attitude. Not impressed with this new attitude they have developed toward customers. I will be shopping for another locksmith now.

Did job right away took 20 minutes wait. Very efficient.

It was an old lock and I brought i up and asked them if they can do it and they ended up taking it about a week and they finally got it. When I called them to pick it up, they told me they're going to need a few more days to work on it got it.

Seth came out to our building to discuss what kind of system we were looking for. He was very knowledgeable, and took the time to describe the system, and all of the options we had. He even set up an appointment for he and I to look at the same access control system he had installed in a building very much like ours. This proved to be invaluable. I was able to see the system, and its computer interface, in action. Seth's bid was the lowest of the three we received for the project, but that was just an added benefit. I had planned to go with Ashland Lock even if the bid wasn't the lowest (as long as it was competitive). Once installed, Seth helped us set up our database, and made sure the system was working how we had planned. It has been installed for several months, and I couldn't be happier. It does everything Seth said it would and more. Most importantly, our tenants love the new system. It has made our building both more convenient and secure. We continue to use Ashland lock for all of our Security and locksmith needs. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Our video doorbell system died a couple months ago. Usually, when you ring our condo, the phone rings and we can see an image of the person outside. Seth came over to take a look. He was familiar with the system and delicately popped off the cover, looked inside and realized there was a loose wire. He reattached it and it worked perfectly. This may sound like no big deal. But this is the thing, they don't make our system anymore. Everyone in our building has the same one. Seth explained he might have been able to get some spare parts, if that had been the case. If not, he would have tried to "cobble' something together. Otherwise, we would have had to replace the system in every unit. And that would have been very expensive. At first blush, reconnecting a loose wire doesn't seem like a big deal. But in the end, Seth saved me and the other tenants a heck of a lot headache and cost. He did it for a fair price, arrived right on time and was incredibly professional and kind.

Just moved into new home and needed a locksmith to re-key my medeco locks. I called several locksmiths before finding Ashland Lock & Security who could change out cylinders. Many locksmiths don't work with medeco.

I had same-day service (they showed up 30 minutes after I called to make the appointment). The guy who showed up was very professional, helpful with all of my questions, and walked through the house with me so I could point out everything I needed and ask more questions. In the end, the service was very good. There were some problems with one of my doors that they couldn't help me with, but it wasn't their fault and he tried to do as much as possible.

The repairman actually arrived early, did what was required and left promptly. We were very satisfied with the results.

Our Aiphone intercom system had been discontinued (and our building is only 6 years old). The "approved servicers" that we contacted through Aiphone were either unwilling to come out to give us a quote, or were trying to talk us into replacing the system, at a cost of $10-$15K. Everybody said that parts would be impossible to find, and there was no guarantee that replacing the parts would fix the problem. We called Ashland, and Seth came out, wrote up a one-page summary of four or five different options for us, with the costs, timelines, and risks involved for each. Just exactly the kind of information we needed to make the right decision. Once we let them know what we wanted them to do, they came out and replaced the four outdoor components (not a word about the difficulty of getting the parts), and went into a few of the condo units to make sure the system was working. They offered to come out again to set up the rest of the condo units without charging us for an extra service call. We had literally spent months looking for someone to do exactly what Seth did, and they did it in a few days with no drama and at a reasonable price. Any more locksmith needs, we're going to Seth.

One of my tenants had her purse stolen so we changed all the common locks and their apartment locks. Since Ashland Lock was able to come within hours of the incident, we were safe last night. Steve came out and rekeyed all the cylinders and gave me duplicates on the spot. He arrived early and finished quickly. This is the 3rd time I've used Ashland Lock to rekey my building. My experiences with them are always the same - fast, punctual, and seemless. What more could anyone ask for?

I brought in an old door lock that did not have any keys to go with it. I left the lock there & Joe called a couple of hours later to say the keys were ready. When I picked up the lock & keys Joe took the time to explain how to install the lock & gave me screws to install it with.

The original work was to install additional high-quality deadbolts. Gave me plenty of options, gave great advice, and when it came to installation ... perfection. You can tell the difference between a DIY or non-experienced locksmith and one who has experience. They are professional and very polite. Their prices may not be the lowest, but they are certainly not the highest ... and they seem like locksmiths you can trust. Follow-up call was because I locked myself out of my house. Steve came to the rescue and got us back in ... again very professional and high-quality service.

Ashland locks did a very nice job and I would use them again. The locksmith arrived on time, was very professional, and worked quickly to change the locks. The only downside to the experience was that regular appointments were only available on weekdays and the latest appointment was at 3pm.

I didn't want to spend money having a locksmith come to my house, so I removed the door knob mechanism and took it to Ashland's office. They removed the broken key in a matter of minutes and only charged $10. I know this is a small matter, but I was very pleased with the service.

Ashland Lock is the best. They have done work for us for years and every time it is done professionally, fast and right. Highly recommend them.

We had several problems with our front lobby intercom. Seth Strong was very accessible via email and phone to assess the problem. He came out when he said he would and painstakingly determined what the problem was and fixed it. He also replaced our front gate latch. Very impresed with his and Ashland's service.

They did good quality work, and their technicians are competent. The price was a bit high but the quality of the work matched the price. The thing that impressed me the most was that they had everything in stock.

The job was done with only a single trip and without supervision. Very happy with the experience.

I explained that I had lost my mail box key and needed a replacement. The man with whom I spoke suggested that I talk with my postal carrier first to see if they could get the number of the lock on the mail box after I told him it was an individual box. I was confused by how the postal carrier could help since they do not use a key to leave mail. When I asked him to explain that to me he became surly and insulting. I ended the call.
