They were pretty good, actually. We bought like 11 windows and doors. They did a really good job. I think we had one issue afterward. They were pretty responsive about answering our questions. I think they had somebody out to take a look at something, but they were pretty quick about that too.

Contacted me with quote. Did a professional install, removing entire door.. Pane is beautiful. Later on a very windy cold day noticed the blinds were getting blown and contacted them. They came out promptly and took the door off, rechecked all door parts, re-caulked entire pane and reinstalled. They did show me the age of the door frame and worn track (25 years old) prevented full address of the problem but the draft was fully address. No charge for this second visit.

It was considerably more, I said $2800 for them, it must have been about $1000 more. I would say that they seemed to be very knowledgeable, very professional and very helpful but the price was just high. Sometimes the price is higher because the work is better but I just felt like it was too much higher. We'd be comfortable using them if the price was right.

We have an older home with a decorative sidelight by the front door. On one of the coldest days of the year our teenaged son tossed his book bag on the floor by the door, as is his habit. On this particular day, the lock he had hanging on the strap (don't ask) hit the window and caused it to spider crack. I used the Angie's List app to take a picture and request a vender response. A sales rep from Ashland Glass called and we set up a date for him to come out to take measurements and give me an estimate. I was told that the glass, due to it's age, could not be matched but something very similar was recommended. The installers came out and, sure enough, only by really examining the glass can you tell the difference. In less than an hour they were done. They cleaned up everything and the window looks great. I did check other places and Ashland's price was a bit higher but I feel that with the age of the window and it's unique design I got what I paid for.

Estimator came and inspected the opening and shower components and assembled a detailed bid. As the wall tile was a bit thicker than what had been used in the past, it was a very tight fit, but the estimator believed it would fit if we didn't use vinyl seals. Two different workers came to complete the install several days later. The work took longer than expected, but they did a nice job of cleaning up the door - removing all the old caulk, etc. and were able to get the door into place. However there was a significant gap between the door and glass panel at the bottom, and it was a very, very tight fit at the top. On initial inspection I just accepted this as the best that could be done with the situation I provided them, but looking at it later, I realized that they had flipped over the door, which was cut slightly wider at the bottom than the top (this also left some caulk/hard water stain at the top of the door where the old seal had been). Further inspection after the workers left also revealed some messy caulk work, some nicks in the new marble curb top, a scratch in one of the new hinges, and just general dust and mess in several parts of the work area. I contacted Ashland with my concerns. While the response was not as quick or complete as I would have hoped for, they did follow through and come out to flip the door to the correct orientation and replace the scratched hinge plate. The final result operates very nicely with an even gap on the door from top to bottom. The hinges are a bit offset (the top one is further into the door than the bottom) - while not ideal visually, it does not impact the operation of the door. There also was a part that we discussed in the initial estimate that ended up not being required - while I was originally charged for it, as soon as I raised the issue they refunded that portion of the fee. I'm happy that Ashland was willing to work with me on a door that they did not supply and that was challenging to install, and I appreciate that they followed through in fixing the key issues. I would recommend them with some reservations.

I have known them for a long time. They gave me an estimate on some pieces I designed to cover cracks for my closet mirrors. They are pretty nice people and well known in the neighborhood. They are a small store front and do a lot of work in the neighborhood. I would send people there because it's convinient.

I had used the company previously to replace a window that I was able to bring the frame into the store. That was also an excellent experience. The Company called me back immediately when they opened at 8:00 a.m. Cesar came out to measure shortly thereafter. He called with a price quote. The repair technicians came a couple of hours later and completed the job in an hour and a half. The couldn't have been more professional. I really appreciate the responsiveness of this company. I whole heartedly recommend them to Angies List Members.

I had a terrible old shower door and they replaced the door with a beautiful new frameless door at a reasonable price. The staff was accommodating and friendly. There was a slight issue with the glass, but they came out to fix it right away. The scheduling was a bit tough but I would use them again without hesitation.

There is free 15 minute parking out front and it was very convenient. I was told that it would take 2-3 days to have the mirror cut and installed in the frame. I was delighted to be called the very next day about 4 p.m. and was told that it was completed. When I asked what time they close, I was told that they were already closed - but where do I live? They told me that if I could leave right away they would wait for me! They exceeded my expectations and I will use them when I am ready to order the customer shower doors.
Description of Work: I am doing a complete remodel on my master bathroom and designed a vanity. The cabinet store made a mirror frame to match the vanity. I took the frame to Ashland Glass & Mirror Design mid morning on Friday, 11-22, and dropped it off so that they could cut and install a mirror in the frame.

It was a great experience (see above) with professional, old-fashioned (in the best sense of that term) artisans. (See above).
Description of Work: Ashland Glass was fabulous. I had ordered a large mirror from a mail-order house that was encased in a beautiful wrought-iron type of frame. When it arrived, the mirror was in shards, due to the inadequate packaging. Ashland Glass replaced the mirror in less than a half-hour and everyone there was so helpful. I would highly recommend Ashland Glass.

I spoke with Omar at AG and he said he could send someone out to look at the seals on our custom shower door (we have been experiencing leaks but can't figure out if it is a seal or grout issue). He said this would be a flat $250 for the initial inspection and subsequent repair. His guy came out the very next day, although roughly 30 minutes late (had been given a window of 1-2pm and showed up around 2:30). He looked at the seals and pulled the bottom sweeper down so it made a tighter fit and said the small tear in the side seal really was not the issue. It seemed to be more in the grout - he pointed out specific spots to be fixed. He did not charge me for his visit. Thank you for saving me money! I would use them in the future.

First of all, when I was quoted the price for these small pieces of plastic, I was immediately taken aback because the price was so high. I mean $340 just seemed way out of line. But I signed the contract because I expected a totally professional job. I was promised that I could pick up the completed pieces on Wednesday morning at 9:00am. That day, just before I left the house, I called to make sure that they were ready. I was told that they had not started the job because they did not have the plexiglass in stock. I found that hard to believe because I have been shown a piece of the same plexiglass when I came into the store to place the order. Then I was told that it would be ready the next day. I needed the covers in a hurry, but I called back 10 minutes later to cancel the order since they hadn't even started it. Then I was told that the pieces were already cut. They then said they would be ready in an hour. So my niece and I drove to the shop an hour later and they were just then cutting the pieces. We took a fish tank with us to make sure the pieces would fit. Even though I had provided exact dimensions, about half of the pieces were either too wide to fit or too narrow to sit securely on the top. In other words half of the pieces had to be recut because they weren't to the agreed on specifications. The notches for the back pieces were cut unevenly. And as a matter of fact, when I got the piece home and removed the protective paper from the plexiglass, the notch cutouts were not only uneven, they were full of cracks and chips. When we told the owner that we were dissatisfied with the service, he offered a $5 can of plastic cleaner "for out trouble." Then I told him that I am a member of Angie's List and was going to make a negative report, he reached in the cash register and threw $40 at us (which we didn't take). If I had wanted an amateur job, I would have gone to Home Depot for the plexiglass and done it myself. I could have avoided overpaying for an hour or so of sloppy work, and being patronized and insulted to boot. By the way, I have never given such a low rating on Angie's list.
Description of Work: Constructed five 2-piece plexiglass covers for fish tanks. The tanks are 12" x 24", and exact dimensions were provided so that the covers fit inside the lip of the tanks with 1/16" clearance on all sides. One of the pieces needed a thumbhole for easy removal, and the other piece needed a notch in the back for air supply and electric cords. The plexiglass was 1/8" thick.

The initial phone call was pleasant. When I took the door to the shop, I was basically ignored. When I finally got helped, the worker continued to talk to and help other customers while ignoring me. They did not call me when it was ready, I called them. When I picked it up, one of the decorative hardware pieces was missing. Plus, the trim is chipped. I would go back if I only needed a simple glass order and courtesy wasn't an issue.

I called Ashland Glass and Mirror after finding them on Angie's List. In the past I had used a different local glass company, but my most recent experience with them was not good, so I needed to find someone else. After giving Ashland Glass the exact measurements and getting a cost estimate, I was able to place my order over the phone. I picked my piece of glass up the next day and it fit my table perfectly. I appreciated seeing all the examples of what they can do with glass and mirror in their little showroom. The price at Ashland was about 10% higher than the company I used to use, but the transaction was positive and very easy, which I think is worth a lot, so I will definitely use them again in the future.

They were great and everything was fine. My only issue is that they don’t come out to measure themselves; they have you bring in the measurements. He had us use wrapping paper to make a template and the glass fits perfectly on the desk. The price was good, they do good work, and they are nice people. Even though there was two feet of snow on the ground they helped me load the glass in the backseat of my car. They had it nicely wrapped so it wouldn’t break or anything. It was a professional job and I’ll use them again for glass. They have all sorts of weird glass things in their showroom like bathroom doors, street signs, mirrors, and anything you can think of. They did everything in one day; I took in the measurements in the morning and had the glass by the afternoon.

My husband called Ashland on a Saturday to get info/estimate and was able to take the frame over to them the same afternoon. They repaired it as he waited and we were able to reinstall it that same day! They were clear, consise on the phone and happy to do the work immediately! We will definitely call them again.
