I chose to have Aquariclean come service my tank. They were able to squeeze me in although the technician was roughly an hour late. He was provided an algae eating fish to my tank to try to treat an algae overgrowth and offered to sell me three additional fish for my community tank. He tried to sell me fish, tank cleaner, test kits all of which had the appeal of a QVC spot. I have had another service caring for the tank and if it were not for difficulty scheduling them, I would never have contacted Aquariclean. The problem arose five days after the service call when I returned home to find ALL my fish dead. My complaint with Aquariclean is the way this disaster was handled. I honestly don't know what killed the tank, all I knew was I had never lost a fish in a year. I had a new service come out and within a week ALL my fish were dead. First of all, when I called to report what had happened it seemed like everyone at Aquariclean went into defense mode. I was told I needed to talk with one person, then another, then they had to talk to the tech. It was very upsetting. When I finally spoke with Norm, the owner, he first implied that there may have been something in my tank from as long ago as a year which caused my fish to die. He didn't apologize until I pointed out that NO ONE had apologized for what had happened. He tried to blame me for underfeeding the fish. When I suggested the new fish might be the problem as they can be aggressive/territorial AND provided documentation of this fact he dismissed it. He initially offered NO reimbursement, he then offered to reimburse me for the fish I had bought from him(pointing out what a favor it was as the service agreement didn't require him to do it)and finally offered to sell me the replacement fish at his cost. B-S. For the retail cost of $80 worth of fish, he's lost a $130/month account. Even if he couldn't tell me why the fish died, professionalism should have evoked a much different response.
Description of Work: Cleaning and maintenance of 12 gallon aquarium, provided 4 fish for tank.

Aquariclean was great throughout every step of the buying & installing process. They initially came out to give us a consultation because we were unsure what size & type of tank we wanted. They had great suggestions as to where the tank would best be suited and what size it should be. They showed us examples of aquarium cabinetry that best matched our furniture (we had not even realized that was an option). Aquariclean also had great pictures of all types of fish to help us decide what we liked best. I was very impressed by their knowledge, creativity and range of ideas and products. The installation was fast and easy and they were very clean. They come back every month to perform regular maintenance such as cleaning, testing, changing filters and, etc. Aquariclean is a very professional, efficient and honest company and they come highly recommended.
Description of Work: We purchased a 125 Gallon saltwater aquarium for our living room. Aquariclean installed the tank, lighting, cabinetry to house the tank, a filtration system, decorations for the tank and fish. We also ordered the monthly maintenance and cleaning services for $150 per month.
