Way overpriced labor charged, for work performed. A simple kitchen faucet installed in less than 30 minutes. When I told them the price was too much, they said it's still $125 for the "inspection fee." Really, that's crazy too, maybe $49. But, the faucet install was about 50% too high. I felt very ripped off, in either scenario. I will revise this review, after I contact the owner tomorrow, if he agrees to a reasonable review of this service charge. It's a company we've used before, so I am very disappointed in this transaction.

We had an issue with our drainage pipe from the AC which the HVAC guy diagnosed as clogged. We sought a second opinion from a plumber and came across Apex through AngiesList.com. We called and were assured that since the ceiling drywall has already been opened up and with an existing diagnostic already in place, an onsite estimate (bid) would be free of charge and could also begin the work immediately if the estimate is accepted. The guy was late and instead of giving us the free estimate for the bid, performed his own inspection of what he thinks needs to be repaired in the furnace closet...everything not related to the actual issue and even suggested that it was caused by the humidifier...the humidifier the HVAC guy disconnected in diagnosing the issue. Apex charged us $120 for the inspection we did not ask for and sent us a quote for $1200 to fix things not causing the actual issue...we had bids for $110 from reasonable establishments to fix and already identified the real issue. I called to dispute the charge and spoke with the rep that assured me the free estimate only to be put on hold and then proceeded to recant her story and promise. These guys are bogus and a bait and switch scam. DO NOT USE THEM!!! PLEASE TAKE THEM OFF THIS LIST!!

They’ve done really good work for me in the past. They are on time. Their price is good. Their work is great. It was just a general great experience.

So, here's the thing, I called the company for service, which they provided. The first service was 15% off. B ecause I was so agitated with needing service, and just having lost my job, I was happy I'd get a discount. The service man came, gave me a quote/estimate, then proceeded to work. I failed to mention an additional plumbing issue with the back of the toilet that had a leak. The serviceman noticed there was a leak, but didn't mention it in his estimate, and didn't ask if I wanted it serviced. Once he completed the first service, and I remembered the leak, I asked him about. He said yes he noticed it, but he never mentioned it, and he was prepared to leave without addressing it. Happily, I did ask him to fix it, and I could afford it, but I didn't get the additional 15% discount.....which I feel he should have automatically offered. I've been annoyed by this, which is why it's taken me forever to write a review. I was hoping I'd be over by now. But, months later, I'm still annoyed that I had to be the one to point it out, and ask for the additional service after he had seen the problem prior to completing the first service, but didn't mention it or ask if I was aware of it. All's well that ends well, but I can't deny I'm a little soured on this service.

Apex Plumbing & Sewer Company were professional, on time, and it was a good experience. They were knowledgeable. Their price was cheaper than other plumbers I contacted. I would use them again.

The plumber was on time, careful not to make a mess, polite, and understood the service to be performed. The drains were quickly cleared, the sink catch trap etc. replaced, and the area cleaned quickly. This was the second plumbing company I asked to fix the problem. The first company suggested replacing all the pipes at 10 times the cost.

The repair worked in the short term but was replaced a few weeks later to prevent future risk of another leak.

I initially heard about Apex from a friend who also lives in a century-old apartment building with century-old plumbing. So I checked them out on Angie's List, saw good reviews and called. Jon came out. He looked at the problem, said he'd have to remove the toilet to be sure and assess any problems associated with water accumulation. Happily it was just the wax seal. He gave me the price, which was okay, and went to work. He was in and out within an hour--maybe an even shorter time. He did the work quickly and neatly. I had warned Apex that my toilet does not have a flange, which was a problem for the handyman who replaced the last wax seal. Jon assured me that although I could have a flange inserted, his professional opinion was that I didn't need it. So he saved me some money. And he thought that the fact that I've had the wax seals replaced about every eight years was due to the fact that the building is still settling. He is not only familiar with early 20th century plumbing but also with the neighborhood and the fact that my building is sitting on sand. He pointed out cracks in my porcelain tile floor as evidence. He finished the job and cleaned up thoroughly. I was so satisfied with Apex that I called them again for more plumbing work.

There was a small noise after he left. I called and he came right back. He went out to get the correct part and fixed the problem right away. They responded very quickly on a Friday or Saturday and came out on a Monday. They responded quicker than other companies I called.

They don't charge a lot money. I have recommended them to multiple friends. They are excellent.

Two Apex plumbing guys showed up right on time with plenty of tools to help them troubleshoot. They began to try and find the problem and were willing to work with me and listen to my ideas (since initially there was no obvious source of the leak). In the end, they located an open pipe that was meant for our hot water heater to drain into - that had recently been modified by an HVAC guy to also drain the condensation for our 95% efficient furnace and AC. The realized that recent construction had filled it with gunk and that when our AC ran, intermittently it would cause the pipe to over flow. I was impressed they were able to figure it out as it was not happening when they arrived. They fitted the drain with a custom overflow assembly and cleaned the clog. I thought that for the money and promptness the service was really outstanding. A year later the fix is still holding up and our building has called them for some other work.

They were efficient, professional, and when we didn't like the original plastic hardware attaching the seat to the toilet, they brought us another, more solid seat with metal hardware - no cost. They want to make sure the customer is satisfied!

APEX Plumbing did a very good job. They were prompt and came the following morning. The guy who came out was very polite and respectful. His solution was simple and he solved my problem. They could have made more money from me, but they were very honest. I didn't know that buying a new hose could have solved the water pressure problem. I would recommend them to anyone.

From start to finish the quality of the service was excellent. I have been using Apex for over 9 years and have always been extremely satisfied with their quality of work. That is why I always call them first for any plumbing repairs. I am always provided with an estimated arrival time and called prior to arrival. I know that the job will be done so that I won't have to worry about something needing to be re-done. John has been the plumber at my last 2 service calls and I have been extremely satisfied with the finished product. Sometimes the cost seems a little high but I believe the quality of service provided is worth it.

They were very prompt, professional, quick, clean and nice. Because they came back out to our place for the 2nd time in such a short time frame, they offered me a discount. I thought it was fair. Would definitely recommend them to others!

It was okay. We bought the part and they put it in. I thought it was a lot of money for the fifteen minutes they were there. I had a bad leak and they fixed it. For the amount of time they were here I was shocked at the price. I’ve used them in the past but I’m not sure I would use them again. The job turned out fine.

They were prompt and quick, the price was insane but I needed to get it done, they said it would take about an hour. It was over in 20 minutes and cost me 270 dollars. I have more work to be done and thought this would be a good test run. Now I know the cost of something bigger would probably bankrupt me.

I called Apex at 8am after I discovered that the plumber doing our renovations forgot to move the gas line for our range. We had drywall starting that day, and the gas line needed to be moved before drywall went up and closed off access. Apex responded that they would be able to come between 10am and noon that day! While they do not give phone estimates, they did give a free estimate once they arrived and I hired them on the spot. They completed the work in under 2 hours. I am satisfied with the quality and professionalism, but most importantly for this job, the speed with which they were able to respond. I will definitely call them again.

We had Apex come out and fix a broken tub drain. They estimated the work would cost $500. They had to open a wall to do the work and found more damage, they charged an additional $70 for the extra pipe that needed to be replaced. They were on time, clean and fast. We also had them out to replace a leaky pipe under the sink a few weeks earlier. That was in the $250 range. They provided an estimate over the phone. There were no surprises, again on time, clean, quick and good work. Our condo association uses them as well. They charged $4000 for a major repair to our flood control system. They had a team working on it all day. There initial estimate was a little higher but they were willing to negotiate down. They were the only company I found that was even willing to give us a price. In addition to that work we use them to rout or storm drains and they are by far the cheapest. We recently had to call them out after hours when a storm drain outside our back basement door flooded and some water got into our condo. They knew exactly what to check to diagnosis the problem, as soon as he turned the water on in our kitchen, the water level in the storm drain started raising. This sewer line from the building into the sewer basin was clogged, causing water to backup into the line and eventually out of the lowest opening. Apex routed the line the comes from the front building into the basin clearing the clog and eliminating the problem. The bill was $410.

They were punctual and they fixed the problem; however, the price was unfair. I asked for the hourly rate, and they said they did not have an hourly rate, but they give free estimates. I set up a time for them to come over. Two men replaced the part and charged me $200 for labor. The replacement was so fast, it took me longer to open the door than it did for them to fix the problem. I feel that their rates are completely outrageous. $200 for 20 mins for labor?

Ive used Apex numerous times--including for a fairly large installation of new water service to a laundryroom sefveral years ago--and have always been very happy with the quality of the work, responsiveness, and over-all service. Highly recommended.

Apex's price was substantially better than others I checked, and--perhaps more interesting--in return for a lower price, the actual work appears to have been less disruptive and time-consuming than other options. Apex seems to have invested in modern excavation technology that enables them to install copper pipe without digging a ditch across the entire surface of the yard and breaking a hole in the side of the foundation of the house. (they did have to dig a smaller hole in the parkway and also a small (6 by 1 foot) hole in the floor of my basement, [which they recemented after the installation was completed].). After that, an automatic tunnelling mechanism burrowed under the foundation, creating a small tunnel sufficiently wide enough to enable pipe to be laid. This probably saved at least a day or two compared with what would have been involved in digging an actual trench. It would probably be fair to note that I have a somewhat anxiety-prone temperament, so the prospect of using this kind of technology seemed a bit unnerving--particularly after a competing contracter disparaged this technique, claiming that use of such devices were either illegal or ill-advised, and that the only prudent method would involve digging an actual trench--which would have involved several days of excavation, serious disruption of trees and bushes, and probably several thousand dollars additional cost. Fortunately for me, Apex's owner anticipated such objections and called back to counter them. I had previously used Apex for much smaller jobs--my initial experience involved a clogged drain which I had called about having routed---Apex's guy came out; took a look, noted that the basement was cold (it was winter), and suggested that while they would be willing to charge for routing, that he figured a more plausible explanation was that the pipe was frozen, and that if I could get the pipe to warm up, the drain would work again--so he left without charging me for this suggestion. Interesting to find a plumber who would offer such advice (which proved correct), so when the weather got warmer, I did eventually use them to route the drain, and for some other jobs, all of which they did well. But the excavation project seemed more challenging and daunting. Other firms--some with very impressive internet advertising edifices--were quoting prices twice as high, and suggesting projects twice as disruptive, and requiring twice as much time---so were Apex's promises just too good to be true? Over the years, I'd seen other neighbors hosting multi-day (or, in some cases, perhaps multi-week) excavation projects on their front lawns, and it seemed to me that any hopes of avoiding such a fate might have been unrealistic---but the prospect of saving several thousand dollars and having a job take only two days, ultimately proved too tempting--so I went with Apex, and I am very glad that I did. Conceded: if you were planning to leverage your water-line installation by also using the trench to stage a reenactment of "All Quiet on the Western Front", then maybe Apex would not be a suitable contractor for your purposes; but otherwise, if you just want quick and a trouble-free plumbing installation, you might do a lot worse than to give them a call.

They did a fantastic job. Our sump pump starting making strange sounds on Thursday and stopped working altogether on Friday. I called them at 5 pm on Friday and left a message with their answering service. I did not expect to get a call back until Monday to be frank because I'd been trying to reach a plumber for about an hour and was about to give up hope. Chuck from Apex called me back about 5:15 pm and said they could come out Saturday morning. They called twice on Saturday to give me a more specific time and to let me know when they were about 20 minutes away. They examined our sump pump and told us we needed a new one and offered us an option on two different models--one was about $100 more than the other. We opted for the better pump. They also told us we should replace a $28 valve. We agreed. When they finished they mentioned we should probably have our sewers routed sometime soon. I asked them if they could do it now and they said they could and that it would cost us $75 less than usual because no separate visit. They routed the sewers and pointed out some unusual features in our system that were very good to know. They cleaned up and left and we were thrilled. The do not charge an extra fee for Saturday visits which is great! Every other plumber I've contacted has charged much more for weekend visits. I will use them for all plumbing needs going forward.

They are excellent because they are very punctual, and if they are going to be late they call and let us know that they will be running late, but other than that they have been great. We have used them several times, and we will continue to use them in the future.

They billed us wrong and they said that they would refund our money, and now six months later he still hasn't. He had to come back a correct a mistake that he had done.
