They removed then re-roofed the house. later I had a leak, Mark came out and checked it out. It was not the roof but a window that leaked. |He repaired it at no extra charge. |I also had Mark back to do the garage roof. He did an excellent job. |And as usual they did a super clean up after completion. He also let us break up the payments to ease the cash strain.

They did a complete tear off of three roofs and then replaced it with a lovely new roof. They replaced all of the vents and sealed around the stack pipes and the chimney.

Very disappointed from start to finish, I would describe workers as careless, time wasters, disrespectful and performed poor qualify work. I had used this contractor several times before and did not have problems however now I wonder about the quality of work on previous jobs as I could not see what was being done. The area on the garage supposedly repaired on this particular job is still leaking worse than ever and being that the garage roof is adjacent to the house I was able to stand on my back porch and observe all work being done. I have never observed such shoddy work being performed. I do understand the garage is old however if it was not possible to fix the leak the owner should have stated this before taking the job. The part that upsets me the most is that if I had seen the workers even try to do a good job and not succeed I would have no cause for complaint. From the moment of arrival the workers had no desire to even try and do a fair job, they just didn't care. The 2 workers arrived mid-morning as scheduled per their request, did not come prepared to start work, came with only 1 pack or partial pack of shingles and no ladders or lumber or the replacement gutter. Owner left me with workers while he went to get ladders and the gutter. Throughout the entire job he never stayed on jobsite, kept leaving supposedly to get more supplies and when the job was finished no supplies were provided with the exception of 1 gutter and gutter hangars, maybe a package and 1/4 package of shingles, nails and only one board of his approximately 6 inches wide and 12 inches long as very little lumber was replaced. The other two boards replaced approximately 3 inches by 12 inches and the board used to cover the broken skylight which the owner broke was my scrap lumber. I provided ladder so workers could start job, workers were chain smoking, I asked that no cigarettes be smoked near house or garage, workers ignored my requests and were downright disrespectful. Spent more time smoking and talking on their cell phones than performing work. I myself had to help the one worker with removal of fiberglass sheets and pipes as the other worker walked away and I did not want plastic sheets or pipes to be dropped on electric meter attached to house and that is the reason I could not remove myself, it was an easy but two person job. Plastic sheets and pipes took less than ten minutes to remove. There was a scrap collector driving by in alley that was more than willing to take metal immediately, I had to argue with worker as worker wanted to take metal. Owner returned with ladders however no wood or shingles and left again. He was informed of the problems I was having with his workers and told me not to yell at his workers. The owner also stepped on a glass skylight on garage which broke, he asked me if I wanted him and his workers to leave, I told him he wasn't leaving me with a hole in the roof, I wanted the hole fixed.He caused an additional hole and then was going to just leave. The owner left to get more lumber which was never used on my garage. The disrespectful behavior of the workers continued. More shingles were wasted on areas not needing attention on the garage than on the area of the leak or on the hole of the broken skylight. I had to phone the owner and ask him to return to supervise his workers he told me "ten or fifteen minutes". When he finally did return he was rude, put the one shingle on the house and said he walked the house roof twice and their were no other missing shingles. His attitutude and the way I was treated was horrible and I couldn't wait until he left. The area of the leak I asked if he could replace a few more shingles to cover the area good and he didn't want to spare an extra shingle even though there were still shingles left in the pack which he took with him when he left. Also, the receipt given to me it states "bad lumber was replaced as needed" which was a false statement".

They were courteous and quick to respond. We did have some minor problems with the shingles and a piece of the trim that we had to contact them about. The trim problem has yet to be resolved.

Mark and his crew are simply wonderful. He is very responsive to my calls, and is on the job when he says he will be there. He came out one week in April, 2008 to give me a written estimate, and the following week I was out of town. We needed the new garage roof quickly because we had water pouring into the garage during rain storms. I spoke to him the Sunday before I left, and he assured me the job would be completed before I returned. Mark called me that Wednesday to let me know that he was done. Not only does it look great, but also I haven't had any leaks and the garage roof finally drains properly into a gutter. I've also noticed that inside the house is much cooler as a result of the aluminum coating. My A/C doesn't cycle on nearly as much as it had during past summers. I find Mark honest and ethical, and his pricing extremely competitive. I had a leak repair company give me a quote, and they wanted 1.5 times what I paid Mark to repair only half of the garage. They weren't going to install a gutter or remove the bricks from the back wall. Mark immediately told me that the previous owner used asphalt material, which is meant for pitched roofs, and that the entire roof needed to be torn off, else I faced a major redo in a few years. Prior to speaking with Mark, I was aware of this fact. The leak company never raised this as an issue, and they wanted to keep it on half the roof and only fix the area where the roofing material was damaged. This is my second time using Anderson Roofing. The first time they replaced the flat roof on my home. During that encounter, he discovered the entire roof decking was rotten and had to be replaced. He even brought my husband on the roof to demonstrate how he was able to push his foot through various areas of the decking with minimal effort. This was an unanticipated cost for which we didn't have money. Mark was kind enough to finance that portion of the project for us. We were able to repay him on a monthly schedule that we found mutually acceptable to our financial situations. He repaired my house roof back in 2005 and I haven't had a problem to date with that job. Mark provides a standard WRITTEN 5 year warranty on labor, 10 year warranty on material. He also provided me with a lien waiver on both jobs w/o any hesitation. I gave a B on quality of work because they left the bricks behind the garage and I had to dispose of them. I think this was probably and oversight on their part, because all other debris had been removed.
