American Thermal Window

We are very satisfied with the quality of the doors. The fire rated doors have a top latch and the installer did not install the striker plate correctly. When I conveyed to him that the door was not operating smoothly he removed the striker plate and left. I was able to properly install the striker plate and the door operates smoothly. No adjustment was made to the front entry door threshold and light was showing beneath the door. I contacted the service provider and a technician was sent to make the adjustment. The technician made the adjustment in about five minutes and instructed me on how to perform this adjustment.

We love our doors. We love our windows. We love our gutter. We love our awnings. All the work was impeccably done. Everything looks amazing and we enjoyed our experience. The entire staff - Iver, all the installers, the office folk, everyone we came in contact with was knowledgeable and committed to doing a fantastic job.

Working with American Thermal Window was a good experience. The windows and doors were all put in one day. Clean up with quick and efficient - like they were never here. ATW only has expensive windows and doors (or only tell you about them) that are Triple Pane. But the sales staff are helpful and are not pushy. My one thing that bothered me was the sign they put in my yard. They first asked me if it was okay, and I declined citing I'd rather not have an advertisement for them in my yard for 6 weeks while my doors were being built. When the owner came week later to double check the measurements and see the site, he put a sign in my yard without asking. I quickly snatched this up and tossed it, but I was annoyed by the inconsiderate nature especially since this was the owner.

very smooth.. It took a while to get the windows but once they did they set up appointment, showed up on time and installed and cleaned up everything.

It took two days, but they did a really good job. They were really organized, really professional, and they knew what they were doing.

I purchased a Ply-Gem window to install myself. The window came in exactly as I wanted and was deliver to the store as promised. I picked up the window, installed it and everything went well. Will definitely purchase from American Thermal in the future. They also handled a warranty claim for a Ply-Gem window that had a broken seal.

So it wasn't that satisfactory. The guy who came out was the owner of the company. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. He was knowledgeable but I didn't get what I was promised.

Dominick came and was very nice … he called me later to give me more details for the project .. but I can't have work done right now...

They came out when they said they would. They were timely and courteous. They cleaned up after the finished the job. Everything was as expected. It was all positive. They left materials for me to review. They made recommendations that I didn't have to replace all three but I wanted to have the same look and feel so I replaced all three and I was happy that I did.

I liked them. The salesman was very nice and very good. They came out and measured the door. If the estimate is still good, I think I might go with them. The estimate was reasonable. The pricing was very good. I had to wait a little bit.

The installers arrived on time, worked efficiently, and left the inside and outside of my home clean.

It was very good. They installed a couple windows in my dining room. I had octagon windows and they came in with the best price and did a good job. They worked very well. I've used them many years ago and I happen to live very close to them and I just kept them in mind. When I saw their name come up on Angie's List I said let's check out American Thermal. They came in with a bid for the work I wanted.

Ken Shillington came to my house, measured my windows and gave me a great price. He was very professional.

Workers arrived on-time and went straight to work. Job went smoothly with no hiccups. Workers were very professional. Job looked as i had hoped it would. Workers cleaned-up area and left.

Iver Junior came all the way out to our home in Lake in the Hills and the visit was great. The only reason the we did not go with them is because we have a baby on the way and I felt that we found a very comparable window to what he showed me for slightly cheaper but it was a hard decision to make. I really wanted to work with the company because of how great Iver was, he explained everything very thoroughly and came up with great ideas for our situation and home that I didn't even think of (some of them even cost less). The window samples and pane test he did showed the great quality of the windows and my own research confirmed that the Great Lakes windows were great quality and what I was looking for. They were referred to me from friends that had about 15 windows replaced with Great Lakes triple pane and they also raved about the quality of the windows and the great service of American Thermal so this is why I went to them in the first place. I plan on replacing some doors next year and absolutely plan to call them for a quote and will likely go with them because quality is definitely not an issue with their products and with only two doors to replace (versus over 20 windows) a slight difference in cost won't be as much of an important factor next time. Thank you so much Iver for spending so much time with me and answering so many of my questions.

The gentleman who worked with me to select the windows was very knowledgeable and helped my settle on the right choice for my house. The installers were very professional, prompt and courteous. They did great work on installing the windows and rehanging my blinds. They reviewed wiht me how to open up the windows for cleaning and answer any questions I had. Finally, they did a fantastic job cleaning up once they were done. It's cleaner than when they got here. I'm very pleased with their work and my new windows.

We got exactly what we wanted. The inner side of the fiberglass door was matched to the wood grain trim and the outer sides were bright white to match our outside windows and garage door. They were a little pricey but we were very satisfied with their work.

I have used American Thermal in the past to replace 25 of my windows in my home. Each time they have been friendly, on-time and extremely clean. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing window replacements.

Mike, was very professional and courteous. He came by and talked with my husband and I about the windows that they provide. He told us that paperwork regarding financing will come in the mail. He surprised us by asking us to leave a deposit in which we left $500. He explained to us that we had three business days to cancel. We got paperwork in the mail in about three days, filled it out and mailed it back in. We got a call back maybe a week later from the finance department and was told that we were denied financing. When I asked to cancel the order she told me that they may not be able to cancel our order and if they do, we was only entitled to some of our deposit, but not the full deposit. The next day I talked to the lady at the finance department and she told us that they will not give us any of our deposit back and because they had already put the order through, they wasn't able to cancel it and we had to pay the full price of the windows. We were very disappointed that they had put the order in before we knew whether we were approved or not for financing. It wasn't easy trying to come up with the money to pay off the balance. We felt that financing wasn't explained to us in detail and we were not aware that they would be processing the order immediately after the three day cancellation had passed, whether we were financed or not. Had we known that we would have canceled within the three day time limit until we were sure that we could pay for our order. The windows were measured a second time and within about four weeks our windows were installed in which they've done a pretty good job. After the work was completed, one of the windows were not the window we had ordered. After calling the company to explain that they installed the wrong window, they seemed frustrated but resolved the issue quickly. Within three weeks, the correct window was installed. I would use American Thermal Windows again and would recommend them to others. The only thing I'd suggest is to make sure financing is explained thoroughly and please understand that they WILL process your order immediately after the three day cancellation period, whether you're financed or not. And if you're denied financing, you will not be able to cancel your order or be entitled a refund for your deposit.

Estimator arrived on time to measure the windows and give us an estimate. We missed one window which was behind a clothes rack. But the estimator found it on the outside. Work was scheduled after the windows arrived. Work was finished in one day as promised. Workers arrived on time and cleaned up when done. I was surprised at how much warmer the basement was with the new windows. We have used American Thermal Windows before and plan on using them again. .

I love these people, they do great work and if something isn't right, they fix it right away.

8 weeks after signing our contract, the work began. The 2 men that worked on our home were outstanding. They arrived early every day, and worked until the sun set. Our 8 windows and 1 set of patio doors were installed in a day. The men protected our furniture inside the house, and cleaned up any shavings that fell behind. The siding went up over the next 4 days. American Thermal's team took time to complete every last detail. I am extremely pleased with the job that was completed, and would recommend American Thermal to anyone looking for siding or windows.

I am very pleased with this compnay. They were prompt with the FREE estimated. The price of my estimate was the price I paid. The men who installed the windows were friendly and clearly knew what they were doing. I will pursue this company for furture projects.

We've lived in our current condo for about 4.5 years now, and the window area in one of our bedrooms has always been excessively cold. It used to be my office, so I just put on fingerless gloves and gritted my teeth all winter. Now it's our baby's room, though, and I could still feel the breeze coming in on a cool fall night, so we decided it was time to get them looked at. We assumed, because of one analysis after another at various shoddy fixtures installed by our less than awesome developers, that we'd just have to get the windows replaced. We were resigned to this. I mean, it's our baby! No cold babies allowed. I called American Thermal, and they said they could have a guy come out the following week to provide an estimate. They weren't widow fixers, she warned me, and could only send the guy if we wanted new windows quoted and installed. At the time, I truly thought we did. Bob arrived right on time, and was very professional and nice. If he were a less than honest salesman, he could have just told me that we had crap windows and I would have bought what he had to sell. End of story. Did I mention it's our baby?!? But instead, he showed me that I hadn't actually been closing them and latching them properly. I know, I know...I feel like a total DOLT. I HAD been latching them, but apparently if they're not in the right position they don't close fully and create a good seal. He said he thought the windows we had were probably fine, and that I was a dolt. He didn't really say that last part. That's just how I feel. DOLT. So far, the nights haven't quite gotten back down to as cold as that first spell when I feared for our baby's tender flesh. But I'm pretty sure I can tell a difference anyway - I no longer feel the wind coming right in. I'm hopeful that will stay the case because I won't lie - new windows are EXPENSIVE. Again, Bob could have told me to buy them...but he didn't. That's enough to make me sure that the next time I really DO need new windows I will definitely call them. And, I wanted to at least write them a positive review since he spent 2 hours driving into the city only to figure out that I was a dolt. Thanks Bob!
