I have a whirlpool in a condo I'm selling that failed inspection. I called America's SSS to get it repaired. They were responsive and came over in the next week. The technician hooked up a volt meter, saw that the motor wasn't getting a charge and reset the gfi outlet in the bathroom. Apparently that's all that needed to be done. He didn't check anything, repair anything, do anything else. He was there less than 15 minutes when he handed me a bill for $175. They never mentioned it would $175?!?! dollars to enter the building and when I mentioned that would excessive, would not budge on the price. At the very least, it's shady business practice. After a service transaction both sides should feel good about the work and the cost. I do not feel fairly treated.

Description of Work: This is not a medical provider, but a steam/sauna repair service. I was very impressed that Jim was wii g to offer advice over the phone prior to sending someone over. My issue was more involved than I knew how to deal with, so he sent a serviceman out. He was at my place to unclog a few bubbler jets for about 45 mins and the charge was an astounding $175. I was unprepared for that and asked if that was their hourly rate. The tech said that this is a service call cost with nothing added. I suppose I should have asked before asking to have Jim send someone out, but it seems steep for the work that was actually performed.

This is the 6th or 7th time, I've had them out. Rome steam units are tricky and finicky. When they first came out, the unit was pulling too many amps. Jimmy made adjustments and it worked. As time went on, I continued to have problems. Jimmy returned each time AT NO CHARGE to make sure it worked and worked well. This is the kind of above and beyond work that deserves acknowledgement. I really appreciate it. Not only would I go nowhere else for my steam room maintenance, I would recommend them highly to anyone. The latest service call was for that fishy odor mentioned above. Jimmy and his son came out as scheduled and on time. They changed out the faulty breaker, answered all my questions, tested the unit, and cleaned up. The steam is running better than ever! and in this cold winter that's a good thing.
Description of Work: Fishy odor coming from Rome steam unit. I called, set up an appointment. Jimmy knew exactly what the problem was based on my description. Every interaction I've had with these folks has been pleasant and professional.

UNRELIABLE!!!... TIME WASTERS!!!... CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!!... LIARS!!!.... 2 weeks went by and I call them. The girl who answered told me the new unit had not been ordered yet. Then Jim lies to me and tells me the unit was ordered and delayed. 6 weeks have gone by and they were supposed to install the unit last week and they kept changing the install time. Yesterday I spoke to Jim at 8:00 AM and he promised to be here at 2:00 PM. AS USUAL, HE WAS A NO SHOW, NO CALL!!! At 3:00 PM I called him and he ignored the call so I left him voice mail. I called him once an hour til 6:00 PM. He never returned my call or gave me the courtesy to reschedule. I WAS JUST STOOD UP AGAIN!!! At 11:00 AM today, a new contractor was here and I gave him the business. A short while later, the secretary at American Steam called to reschedule Jim to install the unit for the 4th time. I will leave it to your imagination what I told them. DO NOT USE AMERICAN STEAM SAUNA & SPAS UNLESS YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR TIME WASTED AND BEING LIED TO!!!

Jim Roumbas of American Steam Sauna & Spa came to my home and informed me that the unit had to be rebuilt. He took it out and sent it back to Roma. He stood me up or cancelled the reinstall twice. A year later (5 weeks ago) the unit died again. He came back out and told me it was past the warranty and said I needed a new unit. I asked how long it would take to get it in and install it because of the bad experience I had with him a year ago. He promised 2 weeks.
