I met with Tomaz and found him to be very knowledgable and professional. He provided me with and estimate to replace my roof. I subsequently agreed to use Ameribuild and when his roofing crew arrived, they worked long and hard to finish when expected. The job site was left very clean and Tomaz came to inspect their work. I would definitely recommend Ameribuild for any roofing work. They did what they said they would, for the amount they said, and finished when they said they would. I felt very comfortable that the job was done right!

Per above, this is the 2nd time I have met Thomas. The first time he came out in February to give me an estimate to re-side a small portion of my home. His estimate was about $1K higher than other competitively priced estimates so I did not use him. He did mention that if I call him come May, he would come back and help me get a new roof (saying that insurance would likely cover it). He showed me some badge he had showing that he was a certified inspector for roofs of some sort. I hung onto his info for future reference. I recently had a roof leak after the heavy rains we've had and I decided to call about 5 contractors to come give me a bid on a new roof. In the interim, I also called my insurance company and opened a claim as the large wind storm had blown shingles off the roof. Scheduling with Tomasz of Ameribuild was a bit off putting but we generally made a day work. However, the bigger problem was the actual meeting to discuss the roof. Upon arrival he immediately began talking over me saying the roof had hail damage, he was being pushy, and basically wasn't listening to a word I was saying when I was trying to explain that I needed an estimate on the roof, that I had already filed an insurance claim, and needed to know what needed to be repaired and how much that would cost. He literally YELLED at me and couldn't believe I had called the insurance company myself (RED FLAG in my opinion) and that he was the one that needed to have a representation agreement in hand with him and he wanted to call the insurance company and set up the appointment with the adjustor. I believe he forgot it was MY ROOF and I am the client. I don't scam insurance companies (and am not sure if that was what he was trying to do), but I certainly don't need to be told how to handle my own insurance claim and business. I was not about to sign an agreement with a man who was being rude to me and also who wouldn't give me a number. He wanted to talk to the insurance company directly and did not want to give me an actual number for the estimate (again, another RED FLAG). He then wanted to see the damage on the inside of the house and we went in. My friend, a contractor, was working on my bathroom remodel inside the house at the time. Tomasz was so arrogant and strutted through my house like he owned it. At one point we were passing by my friend in a narrow hallway and Tomasz literally brushed my friend away with his hand (like a "get out of my whoever you are..."). I was absolutely stunned and didn't know what to do. He continued to treat me in this same fashion. I didn't have the nerve to scream "just leave my house and never come back" but I should have. I was irate. I have never met a more arrogant, pompous business man in my life and would never do business with anyone like him. He showed up in a flashy outfit, nice shoes, etc....I would much prefer my roofer to come in looking like they actually do the work, not scam customers or insult them. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY!

Friends used Ameribuild to replace their roof (paid for by insurance) and so we called them when we had a roof leak. They not only act as the roofer, but they also meet with the insurance adjuster. The rep looked at our roof and said we had a good chance at getting insurance to cover a replacement because of missing shingles due to storm damage. He didn't make any guarantees, but made it sound like we had a good shot. Unfortunately, the insurance adjuster didn't agree.

I purchased the property knowing that the roof and gutters needed to be immediately replaced, so I got several bids from contactors before I ran across a Mastershield booth at the garden show at Navy Pier. I thought it would be nice to get a bid from someone who specializes in one area to make sure I was doing the right thing. The Mastershield representative came out and gave me a really good analysis of my gutter problem along with a good quote, but the roof needed to be done first. He recommended Ameribuild saying that he had been working with them for 8 years. He said that could have someone stop by that day to analyze my roof and give me a quote. Thomas Wasilewski stopped by that same evening and the next morning I had a straight forward but detailed quote in my e-mail inbox. The descriptions of services and material were equal to all the other quotes I received, but the price was the best I had received. I know you should never choose your contractors based solely on price. So I look up their credentials; a BBB rating of A, license, bonded and insured, and great testimonials on their website. My husband does an lot of commercial property inspections and grew up helping his carpenter father so he ask him a few question regarding the job and was happy with the answers so we took the leap and hired them and they started five days later. The crew was fast, efficient, and well coordinated. They did a great job of making sure that no damage was done to my property or my neighbors, as well as, cleaning up not just our yard, but the neighbors. Tom was very attentive, honest, and professional making sure that everything was being done to the highest standards and addressing any concerns that I had. Within 3 days I had a great looking new roof and gutters. The only negative I would have is the crew used my grill without asking, but I was not home when they were taking their break, so I cannot completely fault them. And one of my neighbors complain to them about working til 7pm because they had an infant. However they quit for the night almost immediately after. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the results. And it was a relief to know that after the job was done, that Ameribuild guarantees there labor for two years. I would definitely use them again for future projects.
