Description of Work: I couldn't access the storage room in my garage because the door was apparently locked, and I didn't have (and never had) a key. Frank toiled over it for at least an hour, tried every maneuver and tool he could muster, and finally managed to open the door with the aid of a couple of screwdrivers. The door was so tightly fitted that a "pick-proof" sliding bolt had caught on the metal plate where the lock engaged and jammed the door shut, even though the door was not actually locked. Frank filed down the metal plate and keyed the lock, which now works as it should and locks only when I lock it. I am mighty pleased!

Description of Work: We got an Angie's List deal through them. They ended up having to cancel their first appointment, but when the locksmith, Steve, came by that evening, he comped us an extra lock change (we miscalculated) because he was a no-show that morning. Steve was very nice, accommodating, and professional. We hope he comes back the next time we need help with our locks!

Description of Work: I wanted to make duplicate copies of a set of keys. I called and asked for price and how long they would take. The gentleman who answered was very professional, courteous and to the point. I felt very comfortable going into the store right after that call. The person handling my request was very attentive to my needs, and finished the job in a few minutes. I waited while he performed the job. I was very happy with how quickly they finished it and also only charged me their advertised price.

+ -1 moreA locksmith was out to look at our door within an hour of calling them. He was able to get the door opened, and was able to repair the doorknob/lock mechanism, had to replace one part. Quick, courteous and professional. We have used them for other jobs in the past with great results.
Description of Work: Someone tried to break into the utility room/storage area of our condo building using a crowbar. The lock was jammed and door would not open.

WHEN I CALLED THE OWNER, GERALD MERNARD, HE FOUND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH HIS EMPLOYEE LEAVING THE WAY THAT HE DID. I WANTED A DEADBOLT LOCK INSTALLED THAT I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED, I EVEN FAXED A PICTURE AND INSTRUCTIONS TO MR. MENARD OF THE LOCK AND HE SEEMED TO THINK THAT THERE WAS NOT GOING TO BE A PROBLEM AND I COULD EVEN UNDERSTAND IF ONCE THEY ARRIVED THEY SAW A PROBLEM AND DISCUSSED IT WITH ME, BUT I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T UNDERSTAND SOMEONE SAYING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO THE TRUCK FOR TOOLS AND NEVER COMING BACK. MR. MERNARD TOLERATING THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR WAS EVEN MORE DISTURBING. HE APPARENTLY HAS MORE BUSINESS THAN HE NEEDS.
Description of Work: LOCKSMITH CAME TO RESIDENCE AND HAD A PROBLEM FOLLOWING RULES FOR PARKING. I ASKED HIM TO CALL ME WHEN HE ARRIVED AND I WOULD BRING A SIGN THAT HE MUST DISPLAY SHOWING WHICH APARTMENT HE WAS IN. HE WANTED TO PARK IN AN ILLEGAL AREA. WHEN HE GOT UP TO MY APT. HE LOOKED AT THE LOCK AND TOOK HIS TOOLS AND SAID THAT HE WAS GOING BACK TO THE TRUCK TO GET OTHER TOOLS TO DO THE JOB. AFTER NOT RETURNING IN 15 MIN. I CALLED THE COMPANY AND WAS TOLD THAT HE LEFT BECAUSE HE COULD NOT DO THE JOB SUPPOSEDLY, BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS. HE NEVER BOTHERED TO DISCUSS ONE THING ABOUT THE JOB, HE JUST LEFT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING.
