Alumni's Flooring

Minor glitches were resolved immediately.

Dan Nistor, who runs this business, presents himself very professionally. However, we are VERY dissatisfied with the quality of work that he performed on a $16k flooring job. It appears that Dan is more interested in getting his team "in and out" quickly than he is with the quality of his work. In-floor vent covers did not receive an adequate top-coat and looked awful (unfinished) relative to rest of the floor. He fixed this, but only after we brought it to his attention. ..he would have been happy to leave it as is if we did not say anything. Additionally, and more troubling: It appears that the top-coat for a 15x10 ft portion of the floor - very visible at the front entry of the house - was applied before the stain coat had sufficiently dried, leaving rough gaps at joints between the red oak strips due to escaping solvent from the stain coat. When we brought the issue to Dan's attention, he gave us a story about "some wood just behaves this way - there is nothing he can do about it". ...a conversation with another contractor indicates this is not the case. He rushed the job and does not want to fix the result. We have to bring in another contractor in to clean it up. I cannot recommend Alumni's Flooring.
