 + -1 moreWe had All Temp come out to quote us on a new furnace & A/C unit in mid-December. After talking with 3 other companies and receiving quotes, we chose All Temp based on the Bryant brand that they install as well as price. We set up the installation for Dec 31st. The salesman said we could expect the team of installers between 8-9am on the 31st. That day, the time window came and went, and no installers showed up. I called the office and found out that my salesman had not placed us on the schedule that day. The office people worked to get a 2-man installation team out to my home by noon with the correct equiment. While the delayed start got them behind schedule, they were still done by 6pm that evening. The furnace has been working great and besides the small scheduling delay the installation was farily easy.

Called to get some help and, after some miscommunication from the service managers, the owner of the company called and said he wanted to help. He sent someone over who got it working immediately. Works great and we couldn't be happier.

 + -1 morePhone rep was very pleasant and made arrangements for a repairman to come by within a few hours. Repairman performed a series of diagnostics that helped him to identify the issue. Explained the reasons and shared some recommendations. He made sure that the heater was running properly before he left. Call it Murphy's Law, but the other heater (not the one I had to place the original service call for) stopped firing. The rep on the phone arranged another visit and the issue was resolved within 1 hour of the second call. Very satisfied with the overall experience.
Description of Work: Furnace was not able to force enough air to heat the floor. The second problem was that the gas was not being fired.

 + -1 moreI chose this company because it has SO MANY reviews and they are all good. It's nice to see a company working so well with Angie's List. I agree with the overall positive reviews for All Temp! I recently bought a NEST thermostat and had installed it myself. I was having problems with the installation because the house was improperly wired. Zac arrived and new immediately what the issue was. He rewired the furnace (adding fan control) and I now have a wonderfully working Nest thermostat! I want to highlight that All Temp is not a certified Nest installer, and performed exceptionally anyways. I've worked with a number of the other highly rated companies (though far less in quantity) on this list and I'm sticking with All Temp!
Description of Work: Ran new four-conductor wire from the furnace to the thermostat replacing incorrectly installed two-wire conductor. Did this so my new Nest thermostat would function properly.

 + -1 moreOur heat went out on one of the the coldest night of the year. I called All Temp and they had a service tech call me back within 30 minutes. He diagnosed the problem over the phone, blown inducer motor, and let me know that he did not have one on his truck. He saved me $145 for an after hour service call. The next morning Eddie came out and diagnosed the problem immediately. He let me know the price and went to pick up the motor. Throughout the whole process Eddie let me know what he was doing to the furnace. Eddie was very professional and very personable. When he finished installing the new motor he cleaned the furnace and gave me tips on what filters to use. All Temp always has great customer service and I would recommend them to anybody that has heating and cooling needs!

 + -1 moreIt was seamless. I called in the morning and they were there at around noon. They arrived within the designated time window and gave me a fairly accurate 20 minute heads up phone call. The problem was fixed thoroughly, and he was very friendly. He showed me the problem, how to prevent it, and rent spent extra time with me adjusting air vent to control the temperature in different rooms. The cost was very fair and I got the Angie's discount.

He had been here before as I am a member of All-Temp's discount club and have them out for regular furnace and A/C checks. He did everything promptly, with good humor and efficiently. He gave me advice on some things that were concerning me about my furnace and answered all my questions. A very good experience.

 + -1 moreOver all while most of the work was satisfactory , and done well enough , I was disappointed in the pump aspect of the job as the person who did the work was very knowledgeable and seemed more than competent.
Description of Work: Cleaned and inspected A/C unit outside and inside . On the outer unit cleaning did a very nice job . Added refrigerant properly. On the inside at furnace I have a water pump to pull out the water from humidifier and humidity A/C unit collects , the furnace drain is very close to the floor as the furnace sits on it's side in the crawl space and the old pump was too high and not fitting correctly. The employee suggested a smaller and lower sitting pump and I agreed and all seemed well . But the pump was too small and did not move the water completely out of the pump holding tank and the pump never shut off and burned out . I got busy in life and never brought this up to All Temp . Though I feel a professional should have known that the pump was not doing the job properly and should have made sure of proper function of unit. All in all a C+ almost a B.

He quickly diagnosed the problem with water in the pressure switch and carefully explained how I can fix the problem myself in the future. He also moved the pressure switch which had been incorrectly installed. Multiple technicians have come to fix similar problems with my furnace and they have never picked up on this installation flaw. He went above and beyond and told me about some flaws with my water heater.

The second service took 6 phone calls to sort out who is suppose to do the service the Chicago office or the Waukegan office. The whole system is completely "messed up" The person(tech)are real nice and expert. They do things what they are told by office. First impression comes with phone call and making time for appointment (which is a pain).Techs are real good! but office and making appointment will be a pain.! and will spoil your impression.

The only complaint was with the dispatcher who created a bunch of confusion due to me living "downtown" after I had already booked the service.  + -1 moreI was very pleased with the air conditioner check provided by All Temp. The technician was on time, courteous, and explained in detail everything that he found. Thankfully my unit has some life left to it, but at about 15 years old, it won't be around much longer. I will be getting quotes from these guys when that time comes.
Description of Work: My central a/c unit is 15 years old and I wanted to have it inspected. Technician did an a/c inspection both indoors and out. Indoors included looking at the unit, as well as checking the temp of the air coming out of the vents, and checking indoor circulation. He then went to the roof to look at the unit itself, and would have added freon if necessary, but it wasn't. Inspection included a complete write-up of any issues encountered.
