Everything went well. They were prompt and professional, and they did a good job in all respects.

It wasn't that good. I had a second opinion and they said that my boiler is actually a lot more fancy and more performing and I just have to keep it running. I spent $50 for nothing. It was a discounted rate compared to what other people were charging me just to walk in my door. The second opinion was from a guy I have done business with before because he sent out a fellow who wanted to charge me $650 for a valve. I thought those from All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning were friendly and did a quick job of the inspection. I thought that the inspection was at a reasonable price.

motor had been making noise for a few days so had planned to call contractors that morning when it ended up dying. all temp was able to send someone out same day and replace the motor.

They came out to do the tune up and I ended up spending more money on the refrigerant because I didn't have the print out of the big deal, and I ended up getting a refund for it, because I had paid for it on the big deal.

The tune up went well and they were helpful in diagnosing the problem that prevented my unit from cooling.

Scheduled a 10:00am appointment for a free estimate of a replacement central a/c unit. I waited until 11:00 am and called to see when the estimator might arrive. I was told the estimator would call and let me know when he might arrive. The estimator never called. At 11:30 am I called again and while I was on the phone they tried to contact estimator, but he did not answer his phone, so they assumed he was driving and on his way. Shortly after 12:00, I called back and stated I was leaving the residence.

If the installation crew had been as professional as the saleman, everything would have been great. Two major problems: 1)The old boiler was left on my front lawn for over 2 weeks. After 2 phone calls the boiler was removed. 2)The installers broke a basement window and did not tell us about it. They did however put plastic over the broken pane. I wasn't home during the installation but my daughter indicated that there was a lot of swearing. I don't know how much it will cost to have the window repaired. My husband was home during the installation BUT he is extremely ill and bedridden. Review updated March 2014. A day after contacting Mike, the basement window was repaired. Mike also offered to check the boiler for the next two years at no cost. I appreciate Mike's attention to the situation but wish that the installers had taken responsibility for the damage when it occurred. All things considered, I'm willing to give the company another chance.

With both services there was a mishap. The correct parts didn't come in on time for the furnace so we had to reschedule. Then the duct cleaners accidentally got stuck at the end of my block and we had to reschedule. But once the work was complete, my husband and I were pleased with the results. They pricing for the duct cleaning was high but they did get it done quickly and we can tell the difference. I would consider using them in the future.

Newbie on Angie's list. Searched for someone to replace the B-Vent on the roof. Everyone knows the B-Vent is a part of the heating system. I called to request an estimate. Clearly explained what I needed. The guy states "oh you need a roofer". I said the roofer said it's heating and I have a previous estimate so I know it's heating. He said oh no, you need a roofer. I said, have a nice day. It's clear people answering the phones have no idea about the business!

They came out shortly after I purchased it. It was a good service and they were quick. They were reasonable and did what they said they would. I would use them again.

They set up the appointment with just a couple days lead time and were prompt in showing up and finishing the job. They called me when they were leaving the shop, as I asked, so I didn't have to sit around waiting for them. They also gave me a credit for what they charged me to replace the thermocouple on my old heater 2 weeks earlier. I've also used them to clean and repair my furnaces and have been please both times.

Very poor communication - never connected

I called All Temp because our heater was making a ridiculous amount of noise from the intake when running. I have had 3 other HVAC technicians out for this same problem over the last 2 years, both citing rather large and expensive repairs they thought would fix it. Well when the All Temp technician came out and listened to the noise he immediately knew what the problem was and called in to see if there was a replacement available. They did have it in, sadly it was in Wicker Park but he drove out there that day to get it and came back post haste to do the switch out. Our heater has never been this quiet! And it didn't cost us an arm and leg! Highly recommend these guys!

He did the work, was punctual, and did an additional furnace as well.

I've had All Temp perform service 2 times. Had good experiences on both occasions and see no reason that I would not have them come again.

I came home to find that my boiler pilot light was out and the house was freezing cold. I called All-Temp at 10am the next day,a nd they had a technician out by 2pm same day. Frank was very nice and knowledgeable and installed a new themorcouple and cleaned out the entire boiler. He also showed my how to oil my boiler pump. Great service, will definitely use again.

Matt, the sales guy was honestly a pleasure to deal with. He sold me on the reliability and more importantly, the service aspect of buying with them. However, everything he sold me on turned out to be untrue. A few days after installation, there was a pool of water that had collected under the hot water tank. There was also a very odd smell coming out of the vents. I figured the vent smell was due to some of the oil still burning off from the new furnace. However, after about a month the smell was still as strong as ever (shouldn't have waited a month), and there was a big puddle of water under the water tank occuring about once/twice a week. I emailed Matt, and he assured me the service team would be contacting me to take care of it. After all, they want to make sure customers who just spent $4,600 are happy with the product they just got....right? WRONG. No one ever contacted me or followed up. So I had to follow up again a few weeks later. No one even realized that I hadn't been taken care of. I sent more pictures of the water collecting in the basement. The smell has relatively faded (but it would have been nice for someone to come out and make sure nothing was wrong....I didn't like living with a smelly house for 2 months). I emailed Matt, and copied John Dahlquist the service manager. After several days of no response (after Matt had originally responded), I got an email from Matt saying he would stop by to take a look if the service department couldn't schedule me. SERIOUSLY.....the service department can't even fit in a customer who has had issues since his original installation 2 and a half MONTHS ago? They haven't been out ONE TIME yet. I like Matt, because he's a good sales guy, but seriously their service department has to be the WORST I have ever seen. My brother recommended them after he had a great experience with Matt. However, just recently he started having major issues with their service team as well. I am a landlord and own multiple buildings....I was planning on replacing at least one boiler at one of my buildings this year, and there is NO WAY I would use these guys again. Bottom line....I guess I should have gone with a company that actually has a service department.

The crew came in November and replace the one furnace and it was quickly done. This was within 2 days because we called in on a Saturday and the furnace had to be ordered. Only one day without heat. Only problem was the overflow was dripping water and it was fixed by replacing the overflow valve. Then in January we had the second furnace cleaned and it needed a new water fill valve. This was replace and we noted that other parts needed to be replace. The only problem I had was that they did not contact me in a timely fashion that the parts were available and to schedule the repair. But on the whole, Greg did a great job and has both furnace up and running and problems solved. All said the service was great.

The furnace stopped working in the top floor of my 3 flat. I called All Temp the morning of. They were able to send someone out later that evening. Found out if was just a clogged pressure switch. The tech was very helpful. Gave me a few tips on things to check in the future before having to call out a tech. They also cleaned off the flame sensor and some other parts while they were there. I felt like the tech was very honest and will definitely be calling All-Temp for future maintenance or service calls.

I originally purchased two boilers and a furnace through All Temp salesman Matt Geisel in January of 2012. The installation went well and Matt was great. After that, the problems started. -I was double charged for installations which All Temp did not catch and I had to notify and fight it through my credit card company. -I had All Temp come out to do service checks to a property that I had just puchased (2 furnaces, 2 hot water tanks) and told them that a tennant had complained that the furnace had been "short-cycling" which the tech evaluated and said it was "fine". Two months later I find out that the short cycling was actually a symptom of a larger problem that now was going to cost me $486 to fix. -Scheduled All Temp to come out to my property in January and no one showed up. When I called to find out why I had been waiting for 4 hours for an All Temp employee who never showed up I was told "Well you do have heat right sir?". I was not asking to be put ahead of anyone without heat, but a phone call to let me know that no one was coming would have been helpful. I got a call back later to reschedule and the person told me that I was removed from the schedule the day before the service call and that someone should have notified me. In total, for 2013 I must have easily spent into the double digit thousands with this company and I will not be spending another penny with them.

I called to schedule someone to come out and service my furnace, which had stopped working. The thermostat screen was blank and the furnace wouldn't come on. Linda took my call. She told me that the service call would be $89 and that would cover the first half-hour of work. Beyond that it would be $84/hr + parts, but I would get a 15% discount as an Angie's list customer. Sounded pretty good to me compared to the place I called previously that was going to charge me $95 just for the service call and that would not be applied in any way toward any work done and no mention of a discount for being an Angie's list member. Linda went on to ask me to describe the problem, which I did as above. Our conversation went something like this. Her: Did you try changing the batteries? Me: It has batteries? Her: Umm, yes, why don't you try that 1st? Me: I feel like an idiot. Her: It's ok dear, a lot of people don't know. I changed the batteries and that fixed the problem. Linda saved me an $89 service call and I got to have heat right away instead of waiting until the next day. I didn't need a technician this time, but when I do, I would call All Temp.

A few nights ago around 9 pm with temps wind chill below 0 our heating unit stopped working. It was 13 years old, and temperatures on our main floor quickly hit 62 and dropping fast. I called All Temp and spoke with the owner, Robbie Merholz. I explained this was an emergency - all our pipes were probably at high risk of freezing if we could not get it solved. All Temp at 10 pm sent one of their top people to assess the problem, and discovered our heat exchanger had dangerously stopped working. I chose to replace the unit - but could they do it that late at night? They were able to locate a unit, deliver it, and had it installed by 130 am. The team at All Temp is really dedicated, demonstrated great expertise, and performed a service at the 11 th hour literally, that saved the day for us. Jerry H
