All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

On the evening of July 6, my air conditioner stopped working. Since I noticed that the fan blade was not rotating I feared the worst. I called All Temp the morning of July 7 and made an appointment for 2:00 to 5:00 pm. the same day. The technician arrived at 3:00, did a quick furnace check then went outside to inspect the air conditioner. Within 5 minutes he identified the source of the problem - a faulty capacitor. He installed a new one and the air conditioner was back in action. This was a completely drama free experience. I've been using All Temp for years and they have earned my trust. I was charged an $89. service fee and $229 for the capacitor, and was given a $48 discount for my Angie's List membership.

I highly recommend AllTemp. Their staff are excellent, very professional and services are competitively priced.

It went good. It was easy and it was inexpensive. It was pretty normal visit. We did a lot of construction there so it was mostly of blocked up filters. We have couple of new so I put in then they just place it properly because there was no air coming out. They were professional and quick.

On a Sunday my central AC stopped cooling my condo. The fan was still running, but the cold air was gone. I called All Temp and they phoned my Monday morning and scheduled to have someone come out on the Tuesday. David arrived within the noon to 5pm time frame and gave a call 15 minutes before arriving. David was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all my questions about the AC unit. He found the issue quickly and made sure that everything was in working order afterwards. I would call All Temp again if I had another AC/Furnace issue and I would recommend their services to neighbors for sure!

I have always had good professional service from anyone that has come out from All Temp. My air conditioner is 18years old, but they never pressure me into buying a new unit. The fact that no one pressures me to buy anything as long as my current equipment is still working is my favorite part of using All Temp.

They came on time, were professional, and did a great job.

It went very well. Matthew did the initial estimate on cost for replacing both air conditioning and furnace units. He was very passionate about heating/air conditioning and explained a lot to us about the different options. I think he gave us a good deal and we were able to use the All-Temp Angie list coupon. The installers (Eric and Don) were fantastic. They were very professional, had been working for All-Temp for a long time, and knew what they were doing. They had to do some adjusting because of the Bryant furnace being shorter then the one we had but were able to do the changes needed without a problem. It is great to have our central air working again especially with the hotter days we are now getting.

Work completed as expected. Don't recall total cost.

Overall, I am happy with Alltemp. There are a few items I think they need to work on; thus an overall B rating. This was a fairly major project involving the replacement of 2 furnaces and 2 A/C's with their top of the line Bryant Evolution systems. Furthermore, they re-did almost all the duct work on the 2nd floor to create 4 zones. I worked with John on getting the project spec'd out and quoted. Pricing was good; not the cheapest. But frankly, I'll pay a little more for a firm that's worked to earn such high rankings on Angie's List. Having said that, the bar was set very high. So I'll skip to the things that kept this from being a "A" rating: Proactive communication during the job: I will say that John was EXTREMELY responsive when I reached out to him. But I expected more proactive communications going the other direction. The job took a week and cost 40k in total. For that, I expect a short update daily on what got done; what didn't get done; what, if any, issues where discovered; and most importantly WILL I HAVE A WORKING HVAC TONIGHT. Follow up service: Not surprisingly, there were some follow up issues with my 2nd floor zoned unit. I actually found and read the technical documents from Bryant regarding the zone logic before calling AllTemp back. One thing I realized is that the logic that the Evolution uses in zoned situations with variable speed heating/cooling units is extremely complicated. So when I called and said we need some follow up service, I was very precise regarding the issues I was noticing--I even included screen shots of the thermostat along with detailed explanations. All temp sent a service tech a week later. Unfortunately, it was clear he had not been provided any of my documentation. But what was more disappointing was the fact that he was clearly not an expert in the logical components (as opposed to the mechanical components) of the Evolution system I bought... To his credit, he fully admitted this. While he was able to rule out mechanical issues, he told me he would have to have a different person follow up as it related to the analysis the application of the program logic and tweaking where possible. Which leads me to my final complaint--this never happened. I never received follow up from All Temp. For spending this kind of money, that was disappointing. I'm sure I could have called John and raised a fuss but I resolved to stop spending energy on it. A) Because I shouldn't have to, and B) Because the system is behaving well enough and represents a huge improvement over what was there before. I'll conclude by saying despite all that, I would use them again. But they fell short of "A" even though they are clearly capable of it.

Installers were courteous, prompt, efficient, and performed work in less than one and one half days. We are very pleased with the results. We received three other estimates and their prices wee competitive especially since they included tow years' maintenance.

After inspection i was quoted $750 to fix the unit but technician recommended to replace it fully at a cost of $3500 +. Today, another company came and fixed my unit for $350 as just an electrical part was defective. The technician never looked at the part and was trying to sell me a new unit. I do not recommend this company.

They completed the tune-up. They were able to come out really quickly. We use their services twice a year for seasonal tune ups. They have been fine.

We’ve used them in the past. For this Big Deal they were prompt. I think they provide good service and are very responsive if you have an issue. Their prices do seem to be on the higher end. I found this when he charged me a trip charge to replace the fuse for the on/off switch for the furnace and he was only here for five minutes. The cost of the Big Deal was a good value.

It was convenient, the service pack was knowleagable, they came out at mid night when i called them. The service was great on the call. Originally when i called at 8pm they said they guy will be their at 10pm but they showed up at mid night. They called me and said they were on the way. They gave me different options and we set up the appointment to have it permanently fixed.

Arrived on time, was very professional. Went on roof to look at AC (I have not had this looked at in quite some time). Recommended a few things and did this right away. I would definitely use them again.

It was a good experience and it only took about 45 minutes to do.

Had an appointment with all temp for furnace and A/C replacement estimate at 5:30pm. Estimator calls me about 5pm and leaves message that he is in the town and can come in at any time and he has couple of appointments prior to mine.. I told him that trafiic is little heavy that day from work and I also I have to pick up my daughter from day care and asked him courteously if he can allow me additional 15 mins. Estimator named Ed Geise said okay and told me to call him when I am near to my property. They already know that it is a rental property and I don't live there. I reached my property at exactly 5:40pm and called estimator that he can come in at any time now. He goes mad and says he can't come in now, he has other appointments and started talking rudely and unprofessionally and did not even offered to set up a different time or not even polite in his conversation. I called all temp office and told them about this incident and that I am waiting at the property and that estimator refuses to show up now. Office person told me that she is going to contact estimator and let me know right away; did not hear anything till 20 mins. Office called me again and this time asked me about estimator's name (simply ridiculous after goofing around for 20 mins) and then she told me that she is going to call me right back. Then after I never heard from all temp office or estimator. One thing to remember; all temp might be one of the bigger contractors in chicago area and might have good reputation but it does not take long to loose all these reputation. There are many other good HVAC companies out there; who cares for this crappy all temp who are simply unprofessional, uncourteous? I WILL NEVER EVEN THINK OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM. ***STAY AWAY*** CALL SOME DECENT SMALL COMPANY WHO CARES MORE FOR BUSINESS AND WILL HAVE BETTER CUSTOMER RELATIONS. DON'T GO BY BIG NAME.

We got good reviews all over and I think they're really good. I used the deal shortly after I bought it. I don't think there were any bad things about them. They responded on time and they gave pretty good service. I wasn't charged anything extra and I think they're very professional.

After our long and cold winter, one morning in April, my furnace decided to quit. I was not able to quickly figure out what exactly was wrong, so I called some professionals. Nikola from All-Temp came out on-time and was very polite and professional. He provided good and detailed answers to my questions. He quickly diagnosed what was wrong after a few minutes inspection and it was a failure in my pressure switch. He had a new replacement switch ready to go and quickly installed it. While the furnace was open, I asked Nikola to look over everything else since it had not been inspected and serviced for about 5 years. Everything else looked good, but Nikola took some time to clean some parts that he says routinely fail if you don't clean them. So he did that, closed up the furnace, and properly cleaned up after himself. Great service overall.

They were extremely helpful. They were everything that people said they were. They were just excellent.

My only issue was that if I had to put Freon in the system then I would think there is a leak to fix. I asked the servicemen about it and he shrugged it off like adding Freon was no big deal. I'm guessing I'll have to return to this issue in a few years

I have used them before when I was treasurer at my previous condo. They have always had excellent service.

Fine, thought it was a bit odd that after I paid for refridgerate 2 yrs ago along with paying for Spectralite Dye they still couldn't find a leak. said pipes looked fine & he would solder just in case. It sure didn't seem that a through inspection was done. With that said I think they do a good job, I did have a bit of a hard time understanding the tech that was out last. But in general I feel like they do a good job.

I called All Temp for an estimate since a few years ago they did an excellent job with a furnace repair. I was hoping the A/C could be repaired but was not surprised when I was told it had to be replaced. The repair man gave me a price and said the salesman would contact me. Salesman came (missed first appt. ) and confirmed the work and price. He had no literature on the new unit so I asked him to email it. After 3 days with no response, I emailed him. He sent me specs on the wrong unit. When I contacted him for a correction, he did not reply initially, After a second email where I asked him to simply send me a model number and I would look it up, he sent me a non-existent model #. Finally, after 2 more emails he sent me the correct model #. We set up an install date. It was drizzling that morning so I expected a call saying they were not coming. When no call came I called them. The salesman, John L., confirmed they could not install but told me he would call me back to set up a new date. I told him I was going out shortly and he promised to call within the hour. No call. Two days later I still hadn't heard from him so I called them and left a message I was canceling due to the poor service. No callback or email, Then, a few days later, on a Saturday morning, the crew shows up to install the A/C. I was on my way out and said I had cancelled and someone else was already hired. The crew was understandably upset! Perhaps All Temp would have been good as the price was very competitive but I won't know. My feeling was that if the service was awful on the sales side, what kind of service would I get under a warranty when there is no additional money to be made.

It was a standard service quality. It was a big deal.
