All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

The job went poorly in regards to the furnace, the job was very sloppy on the outside with the concrete around the furnace and the PVC pipes were not correctly pitched. It should also be noted that in December, I hired an electrical company to problem solve why the circuit breaker continued to be tripped by the furnace. I had a separate line/breaker fully dedicated to the furnace installed and the furnace continued to trip my circuit breaker, shut off and blow cold air. The electrical company check things out again and shared that the “problem had to lie within my furnace”. This increased my level of concern regarding this major financial investment that I trusted would be a quality, reliable, energy efficient “working” furnace. This problem with the pitching had caused my heat to continually shut off and it took All Temp 4 additional trips out to correct the issues, which they have finally gotten fixed. The owner had told me he would in contact in regards to any compensation they can provide for the trouble I had to go through and have yet to hear back from them since then. The A/C unit they installed seems to be doing fine, however I am gravely disappointed and now I am beyond angry by the lack of professionalism shown to me by this company in regards to the poor work on the furnace and lack of communication in regards to compensation for the trouble.

When our heat went out a week before the holidays, I believed (and hoped) it would be a simple fix...they would just come out and replace the thermocouple and be on their way. It turned-out, however, that our old steam boiler had cracked and we were in need of a new one. Though I was disappointed to hear the news (and cost), we could not have been happier with the process and results. The first visit was Jeff on Thursday midday who diagnosed the problem and made a thorough estimate of the size of boiler we'd need to replace the old one. We were told that Marlon and his crew would be out first thing Friday morning to remove the old boiler and replace it with our new one and put in a Hartford Loop (which there wasn't on our old boiler). Sure enough, Marlon and his crew were there at 8:00 am sharp on Friday morning to start work, and they worked almost non-stop (save a 20 minute lunch break), throughout the day. They finished their work at about 5:00 that evening (it was a Friday, remember), and though they were done cleaning up their materials and sweeping the floor clean by about 5:30, they still stayed until 6:00 to be assured that the boiler got up to pressure and began heating the radiators and our home. Additionally, before they left, they walked me through the features and operation of the new boiler and answered any questions I had. Though the last thing I wanted to go along with our holiday gift bills was an additional $7,000 for a new boiler, I can say that I'm so happy to have worked once again with All Temp. I can't recommend Marlon and his crew enough, and Jeff we've worked with in the past and is my "go to" guy for maintenance and annual checkups/cleanings.

That was fine. It was a much shorter visit. We were selling our old place and part of the sales agreement was to have the furnace clean. The big deal covered the cost. It was quick and easy.

They were the worst company I ever dealt with in my life. They were horrible. They would show up one day and then not show up for 3. I was getting no heat in my living room. I am going to get a different contractor.

The furnace man arrived at the time specified. He cleaned the furnance, flushed to expansion tank and made sure the burners were running properly.

The furnace outage happened on Thursday January 8th 2015, a very cold day when many Chicagoland schools were closed due to extreme temperatures. In the morning, my wife and I discovered our indoor temperatures falling into the 50's. When checking the furnace, we found that the blower wasn't going on. We called All Temp based on prior good experiences with the company. We scheduled a Thursday evening after-hours service appointment, but then All Temp called us back later to say they had some calls taking longer than expected and wouldn't be able to come until the next day. So we agreed on a 12-5pm window the next day, and Rudy from All Temp arrived shortly after 1pm. Rudy was super, very courteous and professional. From the start he was up-front about how he was investigating the problems with the furnace, what some of the issues could be, and how much the cost might be to fix in each case. In the end, he was able to replace the lower-cost starting capacitor and the furnace worked once again. The blower motor didn't need to be replaced. We were extremely happy with Rudy, his professionalism and his ability to solve the problem quickly. The one area where I was disappointed was the cost we were charged for the replacement part. I'm happy to pay for the service call, but we were also charged $90 for the capacitor, and now I'm searching online for its real price and finding either the exact or equivalent capacitor in the $10-$30 range. If that's accurate, it means we were charged a 3x-9x markup. I'm fine with a reasonable markup to cover inventory costs / delivery / handling / whatever, but a markup of this size seems a bit excessive. So overall, very happy with this experience and with the company, but questioning the high cost of the replacement part. But my family has a warm house again, which is obviously the most important thing.

Not well. He inspected the furnace placed a camera inside the furnace. He stated he could see holes and cracks inside, He was suppose to send me pictures of the cracks and holes but I never received them. He was suppose to send it to my smart phone which he had the cell number. Before the gentleman left, he said we could get a second opinion. He made a call to a supervisor in which he stated what he discovered during the inspection. Later his supervisor called to set up purchase and installation of a new furnace. We made arrangements to purchase and install a new furnace. Later that evening, we got a second opinion and it was not what we were originally told. We had the furnace inspected and was told the furnace needed cleaning and it could last another two or three years. The previous owner did not take care of the furnace. We changed the filter a day after moving in and there was about two inches of dirt on the filter. We originally was suppose to have the furnace cleaned. We were told to purchased a carbon monoxide tester and if it went off, to call the fire department, open a window, and leave the house. We have not had any problems. We cancelled the purchase and installation of a new furnace.

They contacted me and they said I didn't need the deal for furnace inspection and cleaning. They needed to replace the motor and the damper instead.

Overall, I would give them another chance because Greg, the technician, was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I really liked the job that he did and have absolutely no issues with his work. He was super sharp. But in the end, I thought the price was too high for the job done. They just bled two radiators and took a look at the boiler to see if there were any issues. They could not fix the problem with the house not heating up properly when the temp dips below 10 degrees. Based on the other reviews, I thought it would cost $100 or less. The job seemed like something that could be covered by the $89.00 basic maintenance package. I will probably try the company again for that, which sounds like a great deal.

He didn't do what we asked but wrote on the receipt he changed the humidifier filter but when I asked him to show me he said he couldn't open it right now but when my husband looked when he got home he did not change a thing. It was the same dirty one on there. He left the humidifier in the off position and talked us into yearly service agreement for A/C and furnace. He said humidifier is extra charge. This man was Julio and if he lied about these things what else did he lie about. Maybe he didn't know what he was doing. We are so disappointed that this company is on Angie's list.

I purchased a Big Deal for the furnace check-up. It took several weeks to get an appointment, because it was the beginning of the winter season. The technician arrived on time and worked efficiently. I have used them for the past few years and their technicians always do a good job.

Matt came to provide an estimate. He was very nice and informative. He provide me with several options to choose from and did did not pressure me at all. He informed me that my old furnace is not worth fixing because the brand and make had a history of malfunctions. I found that he was correct, as i was able to confirm this with others. Setting up the install date was easy, as all i had to do was send him a email. When the guys came (there were two guys), they did the install in a timely manner (about 6 hours), there were no mess, and the guys were professional. Then i hand them the check, and they said they will send me the receipt later. I had some issue with getting a receipt, but it was my fault. I emailed them a couple of times, and they had emailed me the receipt, however, it had been going into my spam box, and I was just deleting it. I called them and they were nice and understanding enough to send me the receipt by mail. Overall great service.

I had a problem with my boiler pressure; as soon as Zac the technician from All Temp looked at the boiler he knew what the problem was, and had it fixed in about 30 minutes. Zac was friendly and very professional I will definitely ask for him in the future.

They showed up on time and were very professional . They explained what they were going to do and about how long it would take. Quality work is hard to find these days and I will be calling All Temp for all my future heating and air conditioner needs

The sales person I spoke with was great to work with. The two servicemen were prompt, courteous and very neat.

We've been saving up for this project for a few years. Finally came time to replace the utilities. Fortunately for us, All Temp was up to the job. From the estimate to completion, All Temp proved to be top-notch. Estimate - Mike was very easy-going, knowledgeable, but low-pressure on "the sale." Made very sensible recommendations, gave several options to save on the job. Quote was reasonable, comparable with other quotes. From scheduling to completion was about two weeks (they could have started earlier, but our schedules wouldn't allow it). Work - Tony and Charlie called ahead on the day of the work, showed up on time, and got right to work with no fuss, no complaints, almost no noise, and NO MESS. I swear, at the end of both days, it was like they were never there. Everything went as planned, and they were done earlier than expected both days. They even made a few improvements to the ducting and condensate that were not strictly called for. Thanks, guys! Quality - the heaters (Bryant) and water heaters are operating as promised. Moved to a two-stage heater downstairs, and is much quieter and runs less often. Stayed with a standard heater upstairs. It has fewer BTUs than previously, and runs longer, but seems to condition the air more gradually (so's I'm not frying the top of my head while my feet are still cold).

All Temp was amazing to work with! I had their competitor out in the morning and they told me I needed a new furnace so I scheduled one to be installed that afternoon, however in the meantime I called All Temp to get a 2nd quote. All Temp quickly got me a quote over the phone, gave me great discounts and came in with a price $1,380 under their competitor and came out that day to install it.

The guy who came was great. He showed me inside the furnace and explained everything. He did not mind me asking him very detailed questions and he gave very elaborate answers. He also looked at my humidifier and found that it had no filter. The previous owners left it without a filter. Fortunately we did not have any water leaks since we had started to use the heat and humidifier was on.

Completed the work as expected and left the place very clean after completion.

Our HVAC unit sometimes does not heat all the way to the set temperature, and then it starts to blow cool air, dropping the temperature several degrees lower. It turns out All Temp does not service the type of unit we have, so they did not charge us for the service call. I appreciated their courteousness, the clarity with which they explained the situation, and their prompt arrival time.
