All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

Jesus came out for the clean and check of a furnace in an attic. He was polite, knowledgeable and didn't complain about the tight space in my attic that makes it difficult to reach the various panels/components of the furnace. He also explained to me the various steps he was taking and also gave me tips on humidifier maintenance. He even showed me the capacitor and it's mf rating while describing it's importance and expected life cycle. Solid service that will keep me a customer.

Two servicemen, "Johnthan and Tomas," as they indicated on the invoice they left, conducted an inspection of my furnace. They turned the heat up and went to the furnace, took off the cover and inspected the flame. They reported no problem. They then turned it off, removed the blower, and said they took pictures of the inside of the heat exchange box from underneath. They said they found five cracks in the heat exchanger. They showed me pictures they said were of cracks. They told me there was a danger of carbon monoxide poisoning as gasses from the flue pipe leaked into the vent and were blown into the house. They said I should replace the heat exchanger, which is still under warranty. I stepped away into the basement. They then conducted a dialogue, in which one explained to the other that people with this problem could die in their beds overnight without warning from carbon monoxide poisoning. They put everything back together but said they would not flip the blower back on because they could not take responsibility for the carbon monoxide hazard. They did not shut off the gas. I turned my furnace back on. I said I would contact All Temp. They told me not to call the office, but to call the number of their immediate superior, one John Lillis, whose number they gave me. It is not the number of All Temp. They left. They had established my confidence imperfectly. I went online and found several articles about the problem of cracks in heat exchangers. There is no danger of carbon monoxide death from this issue, and if there had been, they would have been required to shut off the gas. The laws of physics, one source explains, do not permit flue gasses from leaking into the vents. Rather, the blower might force air into the flue pipe, causing the flame to "roll back" into the home. This is the danger. However, their findings, as well as my own when I tested the furnace, saw no evidence of roll-back, no evidence of any change in the flame at all when the blower turned on full blast. I called one of their competitors, who said the same things I've reported above about the dangers posed by cracks and small holes in the heat exchanger walls. Unless there is roll-back, you don't have a danger. I called and spoke to the owner of All Temp on Montrose. He was upset. He confirmed that Mr. Lillis is his "salesman," although from what he said I'm not sure I got the name right. He said he wanted to make things right with me. I declined the offer. He said if his men lied, he has a standing policy of offering up to $5,000 to the offended client. He condemned using scare tactics to make a sale. I said I will have my furnace replaced in the next four years, very likely. But I will never do business with All Temp. I cancelled my contract with All Temp.

The service tech Zac was professional and very easy to work with he explained the job in very good detail the biggest surprise was they can out at 1am with a smile was impressed with the customer service he provided and the quick fix

I noticed we were not getting cold air through our vents on one of the hottest days of this year. Contacted All temp and where able to send someone out the same day early morning. Technician ran diagnostics and it turned out to be a bad capacitor. Part was still under 5 year warranty, just paid for the service call and labor. Technician was very polite and prompt. He also gave me tips to pro long the life of the AC and Furnace. Will contact them again to check our furnace tune up and AC for next year.

The tech was knowledgeable and professional. He inspected the boiler and took time to explain some of the functions and workings of the boiler. Said I needed a new thermocouple, which was $69. They did have the incorrect address and I had to call to verify if the technician was still coming. Fortunately, they were able to still make it to my house that day. Would use again.

The service was thorough and efficient. The tech was very respectful and put shoe covers on (without me even having to mention it). It took about 30 minutes in total. The quote for a replacement of the broke humidifier was right inline with my research. We will be scheduling that ASAP. The only bad thing was their appointment windows are large (I got the 12pm-5pm) but they do give you a 30 minute heads up.

The technician who installed my furnace was professional and he arrived on time. He did call me back regarding my concerns about the leak and told me that he did check for leaks and did not find any leaks. He recommended calling the gas company out. I have no complaints about the service technician as he done everything he could. My gas company found the leak and shut off the gas line again, it was not coming from the furnace but from the line near the dryer across from the furnace which actually ran outside. No one ever called to find out if there was a gas leak and if my family was ok. A customer with a newly installed furnace, and reports of smelling gas would certainly be a priority for my company not only from a business perspective but from safety, what if it was their family would they want to place them at risk for exposure to carbon monoxide and even worse, an explosion. If I could go back and review all the negative encounters I experienced with this company(communication and lack there of), I would have chosen another company. For me, quality represents the overall package the company displays from start to finish.

We called because the 30 year old furnace was malfunctioning. They were prompt and polite. They also replaced the thermostat and were very patient explaining the Bryant unit. I would use them again.

Purchased Big Deal for complete furnace clean and check. Scheduling was very easy as the company called me the same day I made the purchase and worked with my schedule to make the service happen. I was very happy with the responsiveness of this company. I had bought my new filter in advance and they were able to replace it for me. They also looked at my house humidifier system and schedule a time to come back and replace the filter on that unit as well. Great experience, great company, would recommend to all of my family and friends to use them!

We purchase a deal on Angie's list so it was significantly cheaper, which was great because we had 3 separate and VERY OLD boilers that needed their yearly maintenance. The service man who came from All Temp called as he arrive, was on time, and was very thorough with completing all of the work. We just bought the house and the maintenance guy helped us trouble shoot some problems with the boiler. We will definitely be calling them again for maintenance and when we inevitably need to replace these old boilers. Side Note. We also had a very wonderful sales rep come out prior to this to give us estimates on new boilers/heating options. He was also great. Very informative and really did not try to push into anything-even though our boilers are ancient! :-)

well. technician was upfront and clear. gave pointers on things to watch over time but did not try to upsell anything which is always nice.

The serviceman was on time and provided great service. He explained the service provided and results of the furnace inspection.

Very well. Technician was extremely nice and attentive; spent several hours fixing the unit and making sure it was in good working order. At first he thought we'd need a new unit but was able to fix it anyway. It was nice to know that he wasn't just there to gouge us, like it sometimes seems with that sort of thing.

My central A/C unit had stopped working and All Temp was one of 3 service providers I asked for an estimate on repair and/or replacement. My first phone call with All Temp was very helpful, as Jack (I think that was his name. Apologies if I've forgotten and got it wrong) was very patient in trying to understand what the issues were and what my possible solutions were. It was very helpful to hear about how certain refrigerants are getting phased out in the next few years and what implications that may have on how i would decide to approach the repair/replacement job. I did not get that level of informational detail from the other companies from whom I solicited quotes. Scheduling time with All Temp to come look at my HVAC systems was quick, easy, and accommodating to my schedule. Jack again took the time to explain what he thought would be the best approach and gave me a very detailed quote with a tiered proposal. i.e. replacing just the A/C unit, then replacing both A/C unit and furnace (which was the same age and nearing the end of its expected lifespan), then replacing both but with increasing levels of upgrades to the furnace. The price for the replacing both units was quite competitive with the other quotes I received, and with the Angie's List discount tipped the balance for me. We had decided replacing both units was a good choice at this time and given the age of the furnace, which was still working but has had several hundred dollars of repairs required in the last few years. The quote for A/C unit replacement on its own was not as competitive with other providers. Scheduling the work was also quick, easy, and accommodating. It was complete in one day and the 2-man crew worked neatly and effectively. They ran into a couple curve balls with the duct work but worked through them without needing to expand the agreed-upon scope and cost of work. We are satisfied so far with the new units. No issues with heating and cooling. The furnace blower does seem louder than our previous one...I may follow up with All Temp to see if there are ways to muffle to noise. I would also note that their standard offering/suggestion for both units were lesser units (in terms of efficiency, capacity, etc) than the standard offerings from other providers. It was a saga because of manufacturer boards not working and wiring changes but they kept coming back as many times as necessary and always within a few hours of the call. Now I have a superior system.

Mauro was an absolute professional. Gave me tips to manage the system more efficiently season to season, which will lead to savings!

As a first time home buyer Art was extremely helpful in educating me on our A/C unit, boiler, and central humidifier. He was very knowledgeable and patient with me and tuned up everything in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend All Temp and Art and will never use anyone else.

Overall, it went great. Everything is installed and working well. Had a couple blips along the way that could have been avoided with better communication: - The original issue I called them about was with the air conditioning. The service tech confirmed that the unit needed to be replaced, and called in to the salesman to get a price. After some discussion and negotiation he quoted me a little over $3000 and told me it would have to all be paid in full, up front, by the following day when the unit was installed. I asked about payment options and was told there were none. He offhandedly said I should probably really replace the furnace, too, which I assumed would greatly increase the cost, so I told him I didn't think that was possible given the fact that they wanted the money up front. What he didn't tell me was that the full system, including furnace, could be replaced for less than $1500 more, and that there were very favorable payment terms available if I did that. After he left I looked at the Angie's List reviews and began to question why the price quoted was so high, just to replace the A/C part. So I called the tech back at his phone number that he'd called me on earlier before he'd arrived, and he put me in direct contact with the salesman. (I should have asked to do this in the first place. Lesson learned -- Don't talk to just the service tech when a large replacement is needed.) The salesman suggested I replace the whole unit including furnace (it was over 30 years old anyway, so this made a lot of sense to me), gave me the total cost, and explained the payment terms. This was much more do-able, and much more what I would have expected them to offer as far as financing options, whether it was a full HVAC or just the A/C. I agreed to this verbally, and the installers were at my house bright and early the next morning with the equipment and a new contract for me to sign. - When the installers had finished and were walking me around to see their work, I noticed that they'd placed the base of the outside unit about four inches away from the rear wall, instead of flush against it. There would still be plenty of clearance for ventilation of the unit had they pushed the base against the house, and the placement as it was caused the unit to hang out into a corner of the driveway. I questioned this, and they just shrugged and told me it was necessary for ventilation. I pushed back (firmly), texted photos to the salesman, and had a rather spirited discussion with him. He reviewed the pictures and told them to move the base against the wall. This was done, and now the unit is in great position -- It fits perfectly where it should, no longer sits on part of the driveway, and there's still plenty of clearance between the unit and the wall for ventilation. This was the kind of thing they should have made me aware of earlier in the day so we could have discussed and resolved the issue then, instead of them having to redo everything, including all the connections, at the end of the day. The salesman I worked with, Jack, was wonderful -- Easy to reach both times I had an issue, and very responsive. I lowered my grade in the Professionalism category because of these two blips, but Jack himself definitely earned an A.

great! the provider was very responsive to our scheduling needs once we called. the scheduling online via angie's list didn't seem to work very well but if you call them they are great. All on time, very clear and straightforward. Will use them again!

Time ran out and we didn't use them. That is why we can't give a review. We lost our money.

Two techs were out to our place. Both were punctual and polite. The first tech replaced the capacitor on our AC unit and added Freon. The unit was making high-pitched noises afterwards and I asked the tech if we should be concerned about it. He said "No, don't worry about it." The unit worked well for 45 minutes and then the fan on the AC unit stopped working. I called the main number back and they were very responsive and sent another tech out a few hours later. He was also very polite, but told me that we had surprising, bad news. The AC fan was now locked and needed to be replaced. He agreed that this seemed strange and that he would have his supervisor call me the next morning. 11 am - no call from supervisor so I called to speak with the manager. The manager was in a meeting with the company president and could not speak with me. I was told he would call me back. 2 pm - no call back from the manager. I placed another call, explained the situation yet again and was transferred to a sales rep who said he'd be out that night to give me an estimate for a new AC unit. I explained that I wanted the unit fixed and wanted to speak with a manager about the situation. No manager was available. 3 pm - called back to schedule the fan repair so our home could be air conditioned. Explained the situation again and was told that I would receive only the Angie's List discount and that all service charges would be charged for the fan replacement. Three days later, the second tech came back and replaced the fan very promptly. The AC has been working okay since.
