Description of Work: I was having issues with the furnace not igniting. There were periods of very cold temperatures in the house. All Temp went above and beyond to fix the problem. I had 3 different technicians come to the house. They eventually sent a Supervisor who spent over 5 hours getting to the source of the problem. He saved me having to buy a new furnace this year.

Description of Work: We purchased a new furnace. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There were a few issues when removing the old furnace(60 years old) and connecting the new furnace, but the guys that were installing the furnace were very knowledgeable and quickly came up with different options to work around the issues. They discussed all the options with me so that I could make an informed decision (there was no financial implications with the changes, they did not charge me more money). I think the install could have been done a little quicker (took 2 days), but overall I am satisfied with the service I received from all parties involved.

Description of Work: I initially signed up for the furnace inspection and cleaning. When I went down to make sure everything would be accessible, I discovered my humidifier had broken off the heating duct work and was wrecked. I called and, after a few misinterpreted calls, spoke to Mike who asked a few questions and was able to give me a price on a new unit installed. The workman showed up on the day appointed and quickly did his work. The new unit was installed and sealed correctly and is working well.

Description of Work: The technician came and gave my 40+ year old steam boiler a thorough cleaning. He was very friendly and pointed some interesting items on my system. He seemed honest and did not try to push a new boiler for my 2 flat. He just gave some good observations and let me think about it. I like that.

Description of Work: Quick cleaning of furnace and filter checking. The serviceman called ahead as promised and then came right at the beginning of the 4-hour window. Asked me several times if I had any more questions and clearly knew what he was doing. Very professional and polite too.

Description of Work: Called about an central air conditioner problem. Completely mis-diagonosed the problem. They said it was an issue with the breaker and to call an electrician. The electrician said it wasn't the breaker, but changed it anyway. A second A/C contractor did what the first never bother to: opened the outside unit and cleaned it. Problem solved, except I had to pay for it twice and also an electrician that wasn't needed.

Description of Work: After getting estimates from 3 different HVAC installers, I chose All-Temp to replace our existing Carrier HVAC system with a more |effirient Bryant version. Our Carrier system was approximately 11 years old & required an expensive repair (> $1000) over the summer of 2015. |We initially received a quote from our Carrier HVAC servicer, which came in very high. However, we didn't realize the high price of the |Carrier quote until after we obtained 2 other quotes. One of the HVAC firms providing a quote recommended Lennox and the other, Bryant. |Being the tech type homeowner, I also requested that the Honeywell YTHX9421R5101 Prestige 2.0 Comfort System | & the Honeywell REM5000R1001 |Portable Comfort Control be installed which works similar to the Bryant Evolution system, but is more economical. |Two of the three HVAC contractors were comfortable installing this advanced thermostat. | |All-Temp was one of the companies. They provided an extremely competitive "system" price which included installing new evaporator coil, |relocating the new AC unit to the side of the house and all required intake/exhaust piping. The price did not include the Nicor/ComEd rebates. | |Installation was straightforward of the HVAC system, except for the Honeywell thermostat. Not to worry though, All-Temp installed a generic |thermostat so we could have a working AC unit. A followup installation date was set and All-Temp completed the hookup and testing of the |Honeywell thermostat. The installation was completed when the outside temperature was about 90 degrees. | |Fast forward to October 2015 - beginning of heating season (sort of). The first weekend of cold weather woke me up on a Saturday to my |blaring water alarm. Water was puddling around my new HVAC system in the basement. I quickly called All-Temp and after some haggling managed |to get a technician to come out same day to take a look at the system. After forcing the heat to turn on, the new Bryant humidifier also |turned on and it was quickly determined that the condensate pump was not pumping out the water due to the installation stop not being removed |during installation. The problem was quickly remedied and the heating system tested. BTW, I had scheduled a service call with All-Temp |approximately 2 weeks prior to this problem to test and inspect the very same heating system. The All-Temp service manager cancelled the |service call on the day of, which in my opinion was not professional- essentially saying to call them when there was an actual problem. |The technician, who did come out to fix this simple problem, & I agreed, that it could have been easily resolved 2 weeks prior with a lot |less frustration. I feel the heating system could have been tested even if it was warmer outside (60's - low 70s). | |Overall, I was very happy with the service I received, but did not enjoy the haggling I had to endure to get service. To be fair though, |All-Temp did deliver. They did do a good job with the installation and they did fix an installation problem. Description of Work: AllTemp gave us a good quote on our full system replacement. We got a few other quotes and ended up going with a different contractor, but it was close. The prices were comparable and alltemp was good at answering detailed questions. Overall, it was a good experience dealing with AllTemp and I would recommend them.
