All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

Although we did not accept their proposal, they were very professional and helpful. I have no complaints about the contact.

Today they were scheduled to come and check the A/C between 12 and 5:00. I called them at 1:30, and they said that there was 1 person in front of me. Now it's 4:30, and still no tech. I understand that ''things happen'' so I called to check and was told that because of Cubs traffic (my bad for not warning them), the guy got snagged, decided not to come, and supposedly called me to reschedule (he absolutely did not call). The manager did not seem too concerned that his tech apparently lied (or else he was lying) and was quite unsympathetic. He simply told me they'd have to reschedule. Very disappointing. This was the first bad experience in several years, so I'll definitely use them again (and will try not to schedule work during a Cubs game), but I think it's important to note, in case it's a shadow of things to come.

Although this was an easy fix, I was happy to pay for their time, but I was surprised that it cost $195, which I thought was high. I didn't think the person I spoke with on the phone had made it clear how expensive Sunday service would be. It was $130 for them to come out, plus $130/hour. I was under the impression that the $130 for them to come out would cover the first hour, and I wasn't expecting additional time to be billed at $130/hour. Perhaps I should have asked more questions in advance, but it seemed a little steep. For that price, I should have called them to come out on Saturday night, rather than wait until the next day. In any event, the problem has recurred several times since All Temp came out. Of course, I just press the reset button myself, now that I know about it, but it seems they may not have identified the real problem. They did say it may be time for a new furnace, but for $200, you'd like them to do more than tell you to buy a new furnace.

I called to schedule service and was pleased when they were able to send a technician out that day. The tech was friendly and polite and was thorough in finding and repairing the problem.

Work was performed in a professional, timely manner, with personal attention of the company representative. I am confidant I made the right choice based on 'Angie's' recommendation.

I have used this company before for cleaning my furnace and they were helpful on the phone, prompt in setting up an appointment, on-time in arrival, and helpful. This time my furnace went out on a very cold evening. The evening phone staff was unfortunately not nearly as helpful and friendly as the day staff, the on-call serviceman did not respond to the phone call and we were not able to talk to him for an hour and a half, and when we did he claimed to have too many other calls. I was extremely disappointed, especially since I have an infant daughter and our house was getting colder. Fortunately the person who called the next morning and the repairman who showed up were extremely helpful, and when problems reoccurred shortly after the repairman left he immediately returned to my house, fixed the problem, and stayed to make sure that everything was truly running well. Though I was disappointed in the emergency service and hope the company will address this, overall my experience wasgoo

Originally I was told that a service technician would be arriving between 12 and 5 pm, but by 4:30, no one showed. When I called, they told me that the appointment had accidentally been entered for the previous day. However, they were very apologetic and sent a technician within 15 minutes. It turned out that there was no problem with our furnace....but the technician was very nice and spent 15-20 minutes giving me tips on how to check for problems in the future. He was very professional and very knowledgeable.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS A GOOD ONE. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, MADE A MINIMAL MESS, AND EXPLAINED HOW TO USE THE HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM. MY NEIGHBOR RECOMMENDED THEM AND I RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE ELSE.

Some of the service people they had out were better than others. We would often have to have the provider send out workers multiple times to fix the same problem.

Let me start by saying that All Temp had come to my house twice before (routine maintenance) and been very good. This report has to do with one experience, which was awful. First, the technician called from his car, saying 'Where am I supposed to park?' I explained he'd have to find a place on the street. He made noises like he wasn't going to come and asked me if I couldn't figure something out. I was already stressed out. I did not need to worry about his parking. He seemed annoyed to have to be there at 10 at night. He barely looked at the furnace. He treated me as if I were stupid. He seemed to resent the fact that he needed to go to his truck for a canister of air, and when he found out it was empty, he complained about having to go back to his truck for another. I'm not sure whether he couldn't fix the problem, or simply didn't care to make the effort to try. (He didn't even make the effort to SEEM like he was trying.) I do know he didn't need to be so unpleasant.

Overall very happy. Small hose for the humidifier had to be ordered. This called for a second trip out to install the hose. The 10 minute job cost $80.00 because we were required to pay the entire "service call charge" of $80.00. This was disappointing.

Repairman was very professional, timely and friendly. Most of all I could see he was knowledgeable of boilers(hotwater heat), something I have found to be more of a problem with the HVAC repair techs these days. All Temp charged me a quarter less of the cost than the 1st repair company I had 2 days eariler-for same time frame and same service-with more experience! All Temp will now have my business!

WORKER WERE PROMPT, COURTEOUS & CLEAN. PRICE WAS FAIR. SERVICEMAN WHO EXAMINED OLD FURNACE, AND INSTALLERS OF NEW FURNACE MADE GOOD IMPRESSIONS.

The All Temp representative was very knowledgeable, but I felt that he was less upfront with the cost than the rep from the company we went with. I mean, our water heater is only 3 yrs old -- & a water alarm ($10-$15 at a hardware store) will alert us of any major problem. I'm glad we went with the other company, but I did also feel that All Temp was very professional. In the future, I will always ask for quotes from both companies. I would gladly use All Temp for the right price. When I asked if the Angie's List discount (which is 15% for All Temp) was included, he said, "Yeah, it's included." But I didn't feel like it was really, because he never itemized anything. It just seemed like he was pulling a big number out of his head. Also, our main problem was the exhaust coming into our unit. He added the drain pans into the quote because "it's a good idea" to do it, but it turns out that was work that we really didn't need to done right now.

First visit I was pleased as fixed the noise that heater was making. Clean and checkup was $79.95. However, one week later my heat went out and I was told it would cost $569 to fix. I was not happy as a service tech was here one week ago and said everything was okay. Technicians were nice and professional but it would have been nice if All Temp would have subtracted the $79.95 as the tech told me everything was fine w/the first checkup. Otherwise everything was OK. VERY PLEASED THAT THEY WERE TO ACCOMODATE ME SAME DAY AS I HAVE AN INFANT.

The representative was punctual, attentive and knowledgeable. We discussed what would need to be done, ductwork etc both in the basement or the attic as an alternative. My house is very small and after reviewing what the rehaul of my HVAC process would entail, I decided to go with a ductless cooling system and leave the radiant heat system where it is.

Lyn from All Temps was extremely helpful. He answered our many, many questions and did so in a friendly and unassuming manner. He also provided some references for where we could find radiator covers and gave us ideas for how we might consider heating needs during a future renovation. Excellent service!

Mike was very helpful and showed us several different furnaces which would fit our needs. He was very easy to work with and the installers were very competent and explained how the units functioned.

They were on time, super friendly, and they explained to me what work was being done in a manner I could understand. They actually got my humidifiers to work ( no other company has ever been able to help me with those). I thought the cost was very fair. The quoted me a price over the phone and the price stayed the same after the work was done. Do not look any further...call All Temp.

I found All Temp staff to be completely uninterested in gaining my business. After twice faxing them my list of items (per their request), I still had to call them a third time in order get any attention to my work request. After finally getting someone on the phone, the All Temp employee told me that they charge $84/hour labor and that my jobs would be billed at labor plus materials but that they could provide no estimate over the phone nor would they come to my house to estimate the job on site.

They came right on time, were polite and professional, and did the job well. They made sure that their charge was the same as the original estimate. We had to reschedule our first appointment and they were very accommodating and friendly. We never had any sense they were trying to scam us in any way.

I called the company to inquire about a possible steam boiler replacement project. Their salesman scheduled a prompt appointment and arrived at the precise hour. Upon inspecting our existing heating system, he advised that while his company could perform the project, others were better qualified. The salesman was extremely knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time explaining what was involved in the project and what I should look for in a contractor (all after declining our job). I can't say enough good things about this company. I wish I could have used them for this project. They'll most certainly handle all our future air conditioning work.

Dave was honest and, unlike another company, told me it was unnecessary to replace my water heater at this time. I appreciated the advice and the trip and inspection was free of charge. I will definitely use this company again for any heating/AC or radiant heat issues.

The wireless thermostat was a mistake. We wanted a wireless thermostat, because we did not like the location of the one on the wall, that was directly across from an exterior door, and wireless seemed better than tearing up drywall to run a new wire. The first installers (the same ones who did the humidifier and AC) had never installed this type of wireless one before, and gave up after two hours. The second set of installers, who came out a few days later, said they thought the thermostat was defective, but they did not have the manual, or a replacement with them. Then I waited, and waited, and heard nothing until I called to complain. For three weeks I had a non-working thermostat, and had to manually control the furnace. I told them I didn't want the wireless, and they did give me a new wall thermostat at no charge, and were able to move it over a few feet, which has made some improvement. In the end they made it right.
