All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

It started out worse than expected, but AT went the extra step to make sure everything was correct. Tom showed up 30 minutes before the expiration of his 5-hour window appointment, then took 95 minutes to do a 15-minute clean/service check. His hands were shaking- he kept dropping things, had extreme difficulty, seemed a bit confused. Maybe a bad day for him. However, as he was already behind on time, his service made things even worse. Being late for work, I had him close up what he was doing & reconnect the furnace. I then rescheduled to have another tech finish his work & do the 2nd furnace/humidifier in a few days. The following morning (Saturday), our furnace wouldn't turn on. I called AT & they sent someone immediately. Tom hadn't even hooked up the wires he'd taken apart! Our new tech, Erick, was fantastic. Thorough, knew his work, finished the 1st furnace/humidifier & easily did 2nd in 20-25 minutes. We joined the discount club for A/C service in the spring, saved $80.

Technician was knowledgeable and clean.

They are prompt, professional, and polite.

THE ONE OTHER COMPANY I BROUGHT OUT TO PRICE THE FLUE REPAIR GAVE ME A HARD SELL ON A NEW FURNACE. I APPRECIATE NOT GETTING SUCH A RESPONSE FROM THIS COMPANY. ON THE OTHER HAND. SOMEONE WHO IS MORE HANDY OR SAVVY THAN I MIGHT WELL HAVE WANTED THE (NOT SO) OLD PUMP FIXED RATHER THAN REPLACE WITH NEW. I DO NOT KNOW ENOUGH TO WEIGH THE MERITS.

Job 1: Happy with work done. Salesman Mike Clark was very patient with me as I called him numerous times and he was willing to show up a couple extra times to discuss the layout and planning. System works well, installation was quite clean except for one small area of busted plaster/lathe for the thermostat wire. Job 2: All Temp came over the same day to swap it out so I wouldn't be without heat. Next, the new blower leaked a little, no big deal. They were able to get someone over within 2 days and the repairs are fine. I'm very happy with the service and response.

Very well. I have an air conditioning unit that was not installed right. Two other companies proposed installing pumps, reinstalling, etc. The man from All Temp showed me how to solve the problem without any further work. They have been responsive and professional.

Repairman came to our house earlier than expected and called ahead. Identified the problem quickly (burnt out igniter) and replaced it with a spare part he had on his truck. Clean, quick, efficient.

Things got off to a rocky start. I was scheduled for a 4 hour window & no one showed up or called. I called 3 times, the 1st time being assured that the tech would be there & would call first. I ended up having to reschedule the appointment due to the no show. I rescheduled, again for a 4 hour window. After waiting for 3 hours, I called to check on the status and was told that they had a different 4 hour window scheduled. They checked with the employee who made the appointment & learned that there was an error. I was again forced to reschedule, however I asked to speak with a supervisor and explained my frustration with having to take 2 half-days off work, and now needing a 3rd. He agreed to charge me a discounted rate. The appointment took place the on the 3rd try despite the fact that the tech was late due to problems with another appointment. He did call to let me know. He was very professional, explained everything he did & advised on future service.

The technician performed the work adequately, but overall did not live up to my expectations from the many glowing reviews. I like work to be explained thoroughly so that I do not remain forever a naive consumer. I also had questions about upgrading my heating and cooling system that were not answered clearly or completely. I will credit the technician for not trying to sell me anything he didn't think I needed, but I would have at least liked to know what my options are. I was hoping to find a company to enter into a long term maintenance agreement with, but just didn't have enough confidence in this particular company to do so.

She told me the earliest available appointment was 8 days later. I reminded her that we had no heat. That didn't help. It's not the middle of winter, but you never know what could happen in Chicago.

All Temp was able to accommodate my very busy schedule and repair the furnace less than two days after my call. They found the problem right away, gave me follow up advice and suggested a further check (chimney debris) to ensure all was well. They were professional and prompt.

They were nice enough to bill me, rather than expect payment at time of service. I forgot about they appointment and they performed the work with my neighbor letting them in the house.

The salesman was very professional. He provided two product options, a more affordable option and a higher cost, name brand product. We did not choose All Temp because their bid came in $1,000 higher than the vendor we chose.

They are a good company, however, the receptionist took down the wrong information. Someone come out to replace the Freon and not check it for a leak until the 3rd time I called, I spoke to a supervisor who had someone out to repair the leak.

They are very professional and prompt. George, the service tech in my area, is really great.

All Temp was the second company to look at my old unit. They made a quick and correct assessment of the problem, provided an estimate quickly and had the work done within a few days. Their price was also 10% below the other bidder. Punctual friendly serviceman and office staff. A very positive experience and would highly recommend them.

All Temp did not call to confirm their appointment as they said they would do. When I grew concerned that it was almost 1pm and they hadn't shown up, I called their office and they had trouble finding me in their system. They promised that they would be at my place shortly. Four hours later I called again. They finally showed up a few minutes before 5pm. The contractor they sent to my condo was quite nice, although he had been given NO information about the job. He did not have the right filter for my furnce, and he informed me that All Temp doesn't even do duct cleaning.I was very clear about my needs when I booked the appointment, so I sent their contractor away. There was nothing he could do for me.

I wish I would've discovered this simple problem, before hiring someone. I feel All Temp did a good job troubleshooting and not overcharging for the service call.

The repairman came on time. I had a problem caused by the previous service man. He stayed until he completed the work. He kept me informed of what he was doing.

Replaced furnace after a few attempts to 'milk' it and get it to work, or, at least get every little bit out of it. Finally, it was recommended to replace unit. The new unit is sooo nice. It is quiet, efficient and the guys did an outstanding job of installing it. I felt as if they were working on their own furnace in their own home.

We joined their discount club, and you they come in the spring to service the AC and the fall to service the furnace. Tom is always excellent. The discount club also gets you a discount on various services. A great deal and a great company.

My air conditioning was recently broken. It was blowing warm air into the house and the fan on the condenser wasn't working. I called out All Temp. They were supposed to come between 9 am and noon and were going to call 15 minutes before they arrived to alert me (in which time I was going to drive home from work to meet them). They never called. So at 12:30 I called them and they said they had been trying to call me all morning and that I had missed my appointment. They were calling the wrong number. So, they said they would send someone out that afternoon between 3 and 5pm. I told them that I couldn't be home that whole time and to have them call me 15 minutes in advance again. They did finally call, but the guy was already at my house. When I finally arrived home, he was clearly annoyed that I wasn't there. He opened up the unit, of course, it worked, the problem didn't replicate itself, he charge me $110 for doing nothing, then left.

Joel arrived on time, and was very professional. He took his time explaining everything to me. We will definitely use All Temp for our annual boiler cleaning, and any other HVAC needs. It was a great experience.

I found All Temp on Angie's List and used them to replace the a/c compressor in June. They did a good job, and so I called them again to replace the furnace and hot water heater in Sept. Generally they did a good job. However, the water heater was not connected according to local code and there was a leak in the hot water pipe which dripped on the unit. I called and asked them to send a supervisor to check the work. He came, assured me that everything was according to code, but that they would fix the leak. I have not heard from them since. I subsequently hired a plumber to replace the hot water pipe and have called the local building inspector to check out compliance on the h/w heater. Apparently All Temp is not licensed to perform work in River Forest, and they failed to obtain the requisite permit. All Temp has been very unresponsive in addressing my complaint. So I would advise caution in using them.
