All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

Al arrived around 10 to clean the heater. He gave us lots of information about what to do/not do to keep the system running correctly. He was conscious keeping things clean, and went through the doors that would keep him from tracking any dirt on the carpet.

The old unit had been leaking for a while - this was to be third recharge this summer or a repair. Serviceman put 500 psi pressure into the system and found leak right away, but the pressure enlarged the hole so the system could not be recharged to last just to the winter. All Temp was able to assemble a team for Saturday to install a new, much larger but more efficient (EER = 13) unit and got the work done nicely. All is working well in a warm Chicago autumn; the 5-year parts and labor warranty is good, too.

I phoned three companies for bids, two from Angie's List and one recommended by a neighbor. All three responded promptly to my phone calls and arrived at their scheduled times. I selected All Temp based on price since all three proposed to do the same work, though each used a different supplier/manufacturer for the equipment. The day of the installation the men who would be doing the work arrived on time; after seeing the space however realized the system I had been sold would not work in the space. They were however able to modify the plans while still giving me the system that I had agreed to buy. While doing the work however they recommended that I replace the air coil which added to the initial price quoted. Since the old furnace was in pieces at that point I was not in a position to negotiate though I feel I was treated fairly. My only regret is not asking for a bid to replace the air conditioning system at the same time.

Right before I hired All Temp, I had a really bad experience with someone else. All Temp has been good ever since. I am very happy with the check they last provided and I had no problems at all. I usually request a certain guy when I call them to come out. We talk about our kids every year and how much they have grown. They are just really nice. They tend to keep their prices reasonable, too.

I have a service contract with All Temp that comes with them coming out 2 times a year to clean and check my Heating and A/C, and gives me a discounted price when a repair is needed. What I like about All Temp is that they are reliable and fast. My A/C also broke this past summer and they came out fast then, too. I do get a different guy each time and I am never quite sure how much the younger ones know and how they are doing. For the most part, I am happy with them and am confident when an emergency happens that they take care of me.

He was very good, he replaced a part, cleaned and checked the radiators, and even stayed for quite awhile thoroughly investigating the problem. He could not fix the problem due to our not having our gas settings correct, but he gave excellent advice and will come back. I had a bit of trouble understanding him, but he was very patient with me in clarifying the problem. He worked hard and will be able to fix the problem in the future. He was very professional.

I am very happy with their services. They showed up when they were supposed to. They were very professional, and they did a good job. I find them to be very dependable. Their price was a little high but not out of line, and they were worth it. I would recommend them.

Their work was very good. They were punctual and friendly. They come in, let me know the problem, and fixed it the same day. They gave me a 25% off discount for being part of Angie s List.

We were very satisfied with All Temp; setting up the appointment was easy and Shawn arrived promptly and was extremely professional. He was knowledgeable and answered all our questions and we have signed up for the membership so he can come out and service our A/Cs in Spring. Since our furnaces do not have humidifiers, we are planning on having All Temp come out in the next couple of weeks and install them for us.

From start to finish All Temp were true professionals that definitely deserve their high Angie's List rating. I only had two other estimates from contractors both selling the same line of equipment. Both were priced significantly higher even though their ads say they would beat any price. Both said they could not compete with the All Temp quote and tried to use scare tactics to make me feel I would get inferior workmanship and service. I had the work done one year ago and all I can say is that the house is more comfortable and my energy savings were even greater than predicted. The only concern I had was regarding the use of some single wall pipe where I thought double wall was required. My sales rep faxed over the manufactures specs showing single wall was acceptable but still volunteered to replace with the double so that I would be completely satisfied. It was quite clear that they value customer satisfaction and Angie's List honors. I highly recommend them to anyone!

We needed this project to be done before the next tenant moved in and All Temp was fast. I called them on a Friday and they came out that day to give me an estimate. By Monday, they were putting it in. I let them work while I was gone and when I came back, they were done and completely cleaned up. The furnace works great and they couldn't have been more professional.

I like them. They do a very good job and we are pleased with the service. They are always prompt, professional and able to answer all of my questions. The guy was really nice that came out to the house and they were reasonable in price, as well.

What I liked the most about them was the fact that they were very professional and also the fact that they provided a quick service. It was a major project and I was satisfied with their work.

He explained everything to me, and gave me advice on how to look for problems in the future. Turns out the Freon needed to be topped off. Because we have a contract with them, they checked our furnace, too. He was gone within a half an hour.

All-Temp came out the day after I called to diagnose a loud thumping noise in my furnace when the AC was running. They quoted me a reasonable price for repair and were understanably helpful in quoting a price to replace the furnace and A/C which were both 22+ years old. The work was started and completed the following morning. The neighborhood power went out just as they were finishing. They waited an hour for the power to return, then checked with my wife before leaving, saying they would return if there were any problems. There were none.

We contacted the company because they were so highly recommended on the list. We had gotten estimates from several other companies that were all over the ball park and each vendor seemed to have different ideas of what we should do. When we called All Temp the company representatives were very good about returning calls, coming on time, etc. They completed the work well but we did have one issue, clean up! They had to drill through a closet wall and didn't make it clear that we should empty out the closet before hand. As it was, everything: books, tapes, musical instruments and sound equipment stored in the closet was covered with hunks of debris. I ended up having to use my regular vacuum to clean up stuff that really needed an industrial strength cleaner.

They seemed OK good to me but, I don't remember the exact cost. I suppose if the cost was real bad or real good I would remember. I was surprised for a AC cleaning that he didn't bring any cleaning supplies. He used my vacuum, paper towels, broom, dust pan and even my ladder.

Showed up on time. Professional and clean. Quickly found the problem. Was open and honest about suggesting I keep my current system and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Did a nice job. Helpful too.

The technician was polite and efficient. He was tolerant of our two dogs, and pleasant to work with. He clearly explained the situation and completed the repair quickly. Also, the dispatcher worked with us to get someone out quickly to fix the problem. She advised us about the overtime charge (since we had to have him out after 3:30p). I was very pleased overall.

They came out and were able to replace the entire unit the same day. They did a great job and I would use them again.

They were so polite, so knowledgeable, explained everything to me - what they were doing to fix the problem. Went on to explain how I can become a member of All Temp and it will save me money. I can't say enough about them.

Asked him questions for future seasonal servicing, (winter prep) he offered to do them at the time or come back another time at my convenience.

The technician, Tom, was sent out within a couple of hours of our call-on one of the hottest days of the year so far. He was competent, careful in our home, and great with the dog! We thought that the problem was fixed, but a couple of hours after he left, the unit stopped working again. He was back before the end of the day and made some more adjustments. He personally phoned us the next morning to see how everything was working. And when the unit broke down again several hours later-through absolutely no fault of his-he was back within a couple of hours, had to take almost the entire thing apart, and finally figured out that the problem was one that would never have been expected and, unfixed, could have continued to cost significant amounts of money. Throughout, he was personable, made efforts to help us that were really above and beyond, and made us feel like he really cared about his work and his customers.

Both visits were extremely professional. Because, we are in a new home during the maintenance visit we asked the tech to explain the system to us and he was very thorough. Because, the condenser was noisy he suggested having the condenser "baffled" with 2 x 4's which was an excellent idea. Now the noise and vibration are minimal. We were very pleased with the service from this company.
