All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

During a very hot spell, my air conditioner went out. It was cooling but leaking and ruining the ceiling below the unit. I called at about 8:00 pm on Friday night. A tech arrived about 1/2 hour later. He fiddled around a little, charged me about $150 and said all was ok. About 2 hours later, same problem - leaking ac unit started again. This is when the trouble began. I called and got the answering service. I was told someone would call me first thing in the morning. No call by about 9:00 am so I called back. The person I spoke to on the phone in the service area told me they were busy and would get here when they could. I reminded him that I had already paid for service that was not correctly completed and they should make every effort to return to my house asap. He was not moved by that argument. I guess he thought that getting more people to pay for service was more important that satisfying a customer who had already paid. A tech then arrived at 1:00. He too fiddled around for a bit, declared the problem solved and left. No charge. 2 hours later - the leaking started again. I called back AGAIN (3rd time) to report that after 2 technicians had supposedly fixed the problem, it was not fixed. So a third technician - someone who really knew AC units - came out to look at the problem. He basically told us that the previous techs didn't do anything and didn't ID the real problem which was our coil. I did not understand why the original techs did not run through some sort of checklist to ensure that they had reviewed all possibilities before declaring problem solved. The third tech was great. He knew what he was talking about and correctly diagnosed the problem. It took a week for the required part to arrive, but when it did, he completed the installation, cleaned up well and resolved our AC problem. Since that time the AC has worked with no problem. I am not sure if I would use this vendor again or not. While the original encounters were not great, they did ultimately resolve my issue for a somewhat reasonable price. I think with some better tech training and customer service skills for the people in the service shop, this could be a good company to deal with. I read all of the Angie's list reviews before calling this vendor, so I was somewhat surprised by the level of service I originally received. In the end, I was pleased to have my AC back. I just wish the original techs would have actually known something about AC. I would rather have waited a day or two for an experienced, competent tech, than have to deal with the frustration of people who had no idea what they were doing.

My air conditioning coil leaked 5 gallons of water over night on my basement floor. The estimator examined the area and the unit out side. The estimator detailed the work and price. The crew came out the next day and finished about 2 hours later. The crew was polite and efficient in their work. They took the time to explain what they were doing and before they left clean the area completely. There were no hidden charges.

It went just fine. Very pleasant experience. He arrived within the window of time and gave my husband information and told us about the service program they offer and we had a coupon for 15% off from Angie's List. Service call for this was $95.00, parts and labor was $325.00 and saved $63.00 with the coupon.

They were outstanding. They came when they said would, and had the job done in little time and took care of the disposal of the old water heater. They stayed right within the estimate and were completely reasonable.

Called at 4pm on Sunday night when A/C stopped working, and repairman showed up at 5pm. Diagnosed unit quickly and found a popped cap. It's Sunday night now, and air is nice and chilly only a few hours after my A/C went bad. A little high but fair considering it was an emergency visit on Sunday night.

It was the worst experience I have had with any service provider on Angie's List. While they were willing to come out on a Sunday evening (for an extra $26.00). They came a half an hour later than the two hour window they gave originally. The technician had me try the circuit breaker to see if the circuit would hold. When it didn't, he assessed that it was the compressor unit and, though he was not necessarily making things crystal clear, he did say things, first about it being around $1000.00. But, somehow, as he continued to explain he began talking about the whole a/c system needing to be replaced, that there were a few manufacturers, but, that there would be a 10 year warranty if we went with the entire condenser unit.......But, at somewhere between $3800. - $4300.00. He tried to reach someone by phone who could give him a more specific price. Though he spoke to someone a couple of times on his cell, he was still unable to give me a more exact number. I'm 53 years old. And, I consider myself a fairly good judge of people. I could not make sense out of how he answered my question about how we went from $1000.00 to $4300.00. We finally agreed that it would be best if we called it a night and speak about it tomorrow. He said he would call between 9 and 9:30. The call came in some time after 10 in which case he left a message for me to call him back. I did...many times. But, each time it went to voice mail and I'd leave a message. At around 3:00 I called their office and spoke with the woman who answers the phone. I explained my frustrations and was told she would contact the service tech and return my call in 20 minutes. Instead the repairman called me immediately and apologized for being out of range. Somehow, though, was reachable by the woman. He was still unable to give me a direct and specific answer or estimate. But, he said he'd call back before 5. At 5, after no call, I called the office again. This time I spoke with the service manager who assured me he would call me back. But, instead, I got a call from a man who said he was the one who was the head honcho. He told me what he was told the problem was. It however, was an entirely different explanation, with only a 5 year warranty. The bottom line is this........ they lacked any professionalism. By not coming within the 2 hour window or calling....Not being able to give me a specific diagnosis or estimate before he left. Giving me a phone number to call. Yet, even with several attempts, being unavailable. Not getting the same person who assured me a reply to actually be the one to reply. And, finally, once I reached the owner/manager being given information that was substantially different than the little bit of specifics I got at the first visit.

Called mid-morning for a service check. Scheduled appointment for the same day. Called before arrival. Finished job in less than 30 minutes.

The team came out within two weeks of the original contact and installed the system within the day.

Last night, our downstairs air conditioner stopped working. Since it's to be in the 90s all week, an immediate fix was in order. I found All Temp on Angie's List and called them this morning. The call center staff member told me that she could have a technician at our house between 12 and 5 this afternoon, which was great news. At 1:15, Peter called to say he was on the way, and he arrived at 1:30. After a quick explanation of the problem, he went right to work assessing the situation, and by 2:00 had determined the problem to be a faulty run capacitor. With our approval, he replaced the part, and soon afterward, we had cool air blowing into our home again. I've seldom had such an experience with a service company. All Temp was responsive, polite and professional; I would definitely use them again and refer them to friends.

Eddie Hernandez was prompt, respectful and helpful. We needed his input on the placement of "remote temperature sensors" for the new thermostats and he walked us through an explanation of his expert suggestion. Eddie was also quick to inform me of potential savings and discounts I might want to take advantage of.

I chose to go with ALL-TEMP because of their pricing as it was lower than other comparable brands and included a 10 year factory parts and labor warranty. However I had numerous problems with installation and scheduling. The salesman stated that there would be a one day install. The fist day the installer came and took out the old furnace and air conditioner and left asking if we would sign for the new equipment that would be delivered later in the day. The second day the installer made multiple unneeded cuts and patches on the existing ductwork and placed a humidistat 8 ft above ground level where it could not be read or adjusted. When I questioned him about the patches and humidistat he stated "I've been doing this for years and this is the way we do things." I called the office and after having that particular installer leave, they promised to send someone different the next day. The following day another installer agreed upon the shoddy work performed and replaced the ductwork and placement of humidifier and humidistat. Upon reviewing the previous installers work it was found that the electrical whip box had not been connected properly to the house. On the third day our installation was complete however when we asked for the manual to the furnace we were told that it would be hand delivered Monday as the previous installer had thrown it away. We never did receive the furnace manual as promised. After the Installers left we began to hear a chirping sound from the ductwork every time the blower motor for the furnace was on. I called on Monday morning about the noise and they said they would have someone out the next morning. I waited until 1 pm and talked to the owner who said he'd forgotten and would have someone out that afternoon. An installer did come out and adjust the ductwork. Overall I felt this company did poor work and had poor customer service. I would not recommend them to anyone else.

We moved into a brand new home (new construction) and within 1 month the AC unit was not working. We have an on-going service agreement with a vendor here in Chicago but the labor they quoted us to replace the compressor seemed ridiculous. We searched on Angie's List and had All Temp come out. They were more professional and agreeable than our previous company and their quote was less than half for the labor!!!

The entire experience went very smoothly. Within one day of contacting All Temp we had an estimate for a new furnace. Two days after the estimate the new furnace was installed. One person gave the estimate and two others installed the new furnace and hauled the old one away. All three individuals were very professional. The company also offered a coupon, so that was a plus as well.

They were professional, they were prompt, they got the job done when they said they would get it done. They also gave me a best warranty that I could find. (10 years compared to the average 5) they came with the best price, and the best ratings off Angie's list! He also gave me 250.00 off for suggesting Angie's list.

The person who serviced us (Greg Z) was on time, friendly, professional and very interested in showing me all that was wrong and what he was doing. He fixed a problem that I was told could not be fixed and he did it with out making me feel like an idiot (why is that so hard for some people?). I will call them next time I have any problems for sure!

Excellent service. The original serviceman that was scheduled to come out couldn't come. All-Temps could have easily bailed and said no one could come out that day. Instead they were able to send a different and equally qualified person to service our unit that day. They were courteous and very knowledgeable.

It went really well. There was a problem a little afterwards, but they immediately came back out and took. They were very polite. Also they showed up on time and were cost efficient.

They were very professional, they did have to come out a couple times, they did a good job. There price was very reasonable. I would recommend them to others.

It went excellent. They were just terrific. They did what they said they were going to do. They answered my questions as well with letting me know if there were to be any changes. They cleaned up really well.

Everyone I spoke with was friendly and professional. Though they weren't able to come out right away, they made every effort to work around my schedule. When the tech came out he was fast, friendly and professional. I did have to call to make sure he was coming, as we were nearing the end of the 12-5 time slot in which I was scheduled, but the person on the phone contacted him and told me he'd be there in 10 minutes - and he was. He took the time to mark my a/c unit on the roof, added a filter sticker to my furnace with the correct filter size on it, and was just generally courteous and communicative. The cost was much less than I anticipated, and he even set me up with bi-annual cleaning service, which they will schedule with me at the appropriate times each season so that I don't have to think about it. Excellent experience all around. The one "complaint" I have is very minor -- they don't take American Express.

The guy started saying that we needed new parts and everything. So we thought we just should get a new one. They came early in the morning and got the new system in. We had used All Temp before. They helped us find a new one that was just right for the house. We were very happy with the installation. They were very clean and efficient. The new system has been running for about a month now. It's really quiet and it works well. They are good guys.

They are very prompt with their appointments. They are very professional and courteous and they know what they are doing. They had to replace a small sensor on our heater and replaced it at no cost.

When we had the inspection for our new apartment, the inspector mentioned that there was a pipe connected to the furnace that did not meet a building code. We called All Temp to inspect and service the furnace, as well as replace the pipe. When All-Temp arrived, they inspected the pipe and told us it was fine, and the inspector was being overly cautious in the inspection. They then serviced the furnace. We will be using their annual service plan for a/c and furnace servicing next year.

It went very well. I would say they were very efficient. There was timely installation of the hot water baseboard radiation. They were very responsive; it was just a good job. It was what I expected. There were very few issues, and follow-up was good. I had them come back for something, and they were prompt. I thought the salesperson who talked with me was really good, too. I shopped a lot, and their salesman was very good and very knowledgeable.

I had an estimate Thursday and they were out there Monday! They also did two days worth of quality work in one day. All around class act company. Very worth my money and I would definitely use them in the future. These guys deserve their good rep from Angie's List.
