All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

I meant to write this review much sooner, but my hectic life did not allow...so details may not be as fresh on my mind. But, what I will tell you is that this company was excellent to work with. They really know what they are doing and gave me recommendations that were not what I was originally thinking...which ended up costing me less. I started out by getting quotes from various companies as I could sense my heater may be going out. A few days later, it did and so we were prepared to make a quick decision and move forward with All Temp Heating and A/C. They were efficient and knowledgable -- and I ended up replacing both my furnace and a/c -- which needed to be replaced too. They did not have a lot of fun removing my old a/c from my 4th floor deck--but didn't complain! Others in my townhome complex had used them and gave them the same review a year ago---and still feel the same.

We had numerous problems with the new unit (seemed like it leaked gas intermittently), which mystified Nicor Gas, All Temp, and a Bradford White company technician. THE GOOD NEWS IS THIS: All Temp did everything in their power to fix the problem, and succeeded. The customer service after the sale was fantastic. They stand by their work, and are willing to do whatever is necessary to see that the product and installation perform as they should. This is an excellent company and we will definitely use them again.It's hard to judge a company when everything goes right. The true test is when there is a problem. All Temp is the kind of company you want to work with, because they clearly believe in serving the customer whatever it takes.

I was very impressed with the diagnostic efforts of the technician. He gave me his initial impressions and proceeded to trouble shoot the system, examining it for what might by becausing the problem. Once he had disassembled areas of the unit that he said may be contributing to the its malfunction he confirmed the problem. He was unable to repair the unit that night. A part was needed which took less than 48 hours to get..Notwithstanding two service calls, another company that had previously worked on the unit and All Temp, I saved considerably with all Temp. Additionally, I felt reassured after witnessing a thorough inspection and cleaning of the unit. Needless to say I was pleased with the price and service.

Everything went well overall and we're very pleased with our Bryant furnace and All Temp service. (See story above.)

BUYER BEWARE: The technician obviously is so untrained, uninterested, or simply lazy, that several SERIOUS safety and comfort concerns that required no testing whatsoever were completely missed. These guys left a house in a very dangerous situation, and I want to make sure other homeowners know about it.

They were professional and gave excellent follow up. They were easy to work with.

Overall everything went well! Only thing missing is confirmation for scheduled call.

The serviceman was prompt, courteous, and was helpful in explaining to me what I should be doing regularly for home maintenance. He cleaned and checked the furnace and humidifier and made sure everything was working and set properly.

I had a very good experience with AllTemp. Steve is great. He came very quickly and found out what was wrong right away. Additionally, he did his best to get me the best price possible. I now signed up for the Membership Club so they will call me twice a year to service the AC and Furnace. I will for sure be requesting Steve as the technician again!

I found out my hot water heater was not venting properly. I contacted All Temp and their manager Matt came out. He discussed all my options very carefully, making sure I understood them and also the costs. We set a date for the service on a very windy day, so when the employees came they decided to cancel because of safety reasons, which I understood. The next scheduled date the employees arrived on time and immediately went to work. They were done within a few hours and then explained what work was performed, demonstrating how the water heater now properly vented out the chimney. I am very happy with the work and the price and will hire them for future HVAC work.

Called to get an estimate on installing an AC unit and humidifier. Decided not to get the AC unit done until the spring but had them install a humidifier and air return in the furnace (area). We are very pleased with the outcome and the company was very professional, on time and helpful in terms of explaining all the work and procedures.

Smooth transaction. Mike was the manager in negotiating price and model needed with an onsite visit and follow up phone calls. Two-men installers team were courteous and professional. One can tell they've been together for a long time and made a great team that produced quality work. Worked hard and did the tear down and install in a day and half.

It was great. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and the system is working fine now.

It went very smoothly. They responded quickly to my call and replaced the furnace in no time at all.

I have had a good experience with them both times. They were responsive for scheduling the work; both technicians were very good about explaining what they were doing and why in addition to performing the work and fixing the problems.

I contacted 3 HVAC companies. Alltemp was the most professional of the three. They returned my call promptly, and once I got my insurance check, they were out in a couple of to install the new furnace. The installers were clean and friendly, got the work done in a very short time, and cleaned up after themselves. If I end up having to get a furnace or air conditioning unit, I'll be able to save a lot of time and just call Alltemp.

The employee showed up on time despite a rainy day and an appointment during evening rush hour. He was prompt and efficient, finishing the job within a short amount of time. Prior to leaving, he was even willing to discuss with me the age and condition of our furnace and water heater so we would know what to expect in the coming years. Very helpful!

It was great! I worried my ductwork was bad, and Frank did too at first. He went back to his truck to get a ladder and then had me feel how little air and how cold the air was coming out of my ceiling vents. He then said there was one more thing he could try -and lowered my fan speed in my furnace. I'm making this sound quick, but Frank really took his time and it took awhile to solve the mystery. He then stayed for awhile to let the furnace warm up and remeasured the temp from my vents after he had slowed the fan, and sure enough -it fixed the problem. It seemed so counterintuitive that if i wasn't getting heat, we should turn the furnace speed down -but he explained that the air didn't have time to warm up properly with my fan speed set too high. My place warmed up almost immediately. Frank was helpful and polite throughout. I hope i don't have to use them again (obviously, because I hope the problem is fixed) but for heating or cooling problems in the future - I will definitely call All Temp and ask for Frank again, if possible.

The man really knew what he was doing. I could not be more impressed with him.

We were very impressed with All Temp (and we're really picky!). Overall, their prices were well under the other quote we got, and the actual installers were very professional and went out of their way to solve some our unique problems (furnace noise issues, needed to be diplomatic in routing vent pipe up through other units, no space in closet to install filter drawer, we requested extra outlet in closet). The sales rep was very responsive, but initially his technical knowledge seemed a little weak (versus the rep from another company we had had come out to do a quote), so at first we were a little unsure about them (he told us later that he's fairly new to it, I think). However, he was thorough enough to have an actual tech, Tony, come out to see our specifics before finishing the quote which boosted our confidence. Once we had decided to work with them, I actually got a call from the owner letting me know they we're going to try to squeeze us in the schedule ASAP since they knew we had a new baby and it was starting to get chilly. The same tech, Tony was put in charge of the job and he was great. We hit a couple small snags during the installation, but he was able to solve everything to our satisfaction. They obviously cared about our being happy, and original sales rep followed up with us a few days after to make sure we were. Our new furnace is awesome (and awesomely quiet... a huge deal for us). I was initially wary that All Temp's service might not be so great because they seemed kind of big (lots of Angie's List reviews), but I'm glad that we decided to go with them after all. We would highly recommend them.

During a family gathering on an unseasonably warm Sunday we noticed that it was 80 degrees in the house, even though the air conditioning had been running full blast for several hours. I consulted Angie's List Monday morning and chose All Temp because of the hundreds of positive reviews and consistent A ratings. Our experience was no exception. We called early Monday and the tech arrived by 1:30. He quickly diagnosed the problem and recharged the refrigerant, which solved the immediate problem. He then performed a quick inspection and discovered two other problems: a filter in the AprilAire humidifier that was well beyond dirty and the ignitor in the furnace that might not make it through the winter. Since the system is 13 years old and hasn't been serviced in at least the four years we have owned the house these replacements seemed entirely reasonable. I appreciated that the tech made no attempt to up-sell or enroll us in annual maintenance contracts or any of that. I would use All Temp again and recommend them to anyone.

Overall, everything went A-OK. They showed up when they promised. They began their work immediately, dismantelling all the old equipment and removing it. They installed the new a/c and furnace, after preparing the surfaces. They installed the sheet metal and then the new thermostat. They turned the a/c on and made sure that it worked and then turned the heat on and it worked perfectly. They accepted our charge and thanked us and picked up all remaining debris and drove away.

Great job every time. I have been using them for my boiler & hot water heater service for a couple years. The guy they sent (Lukas) was very knowledgeable and not only took care of the boiler but also showed me which pipes I need to replace soon and which part of the boiler will need to be replaced before long. The price is excellent. They give a very generous Angie's List discount and I'm pleased to use them over and over, and recommend them to others.

I would recommend this company again and did sign up for their annual HVAC service.Originally, I had called the company to give me estimates for some other HVAC work that Peoples Gas said that I needed. The sales rep reviewed but said explained why the work was unnecessary, He could have tried to sell me something, but instead was very honest and professional and lost that business. Given his honesty, I signed up for an annual HVAC cleaning. I will definitely recommend them to others.
