All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

When I called to schedule the appointment for the rental I gave them my tenant's first and last name and cell phone and scheduled the appointment for June 8th. Due to a conflict he had, I had to call back about 10 minutes later to reschedule the appointment. When I called back they couldn't find the appointment at first. I believe there are a couple of people who take appointments and it took the two of them a few minutes to track down the appointment. After finding the appointment, the person I was speaking to said she successfully changed the appointment to June 9th. I again confirmed they had my tenant's phone number, address for the appointment and his first/last name. They gave a four hour window when they would show up assuring me they would call him first. On the day of the appointment, my tenant called after waiting for 2 hours with no word. When I called Alltemp to get the status, not only did they have no record of the appointment, my tenant's name or phone number, they didn't even have the address of the property in their system. Obviously I was frustrated. And while I can't say the person I was talking to at Alltemp was rude, she offered no explanation or apology for the fact that they had obviously messed up the appointment. I didn't start out the conversation angry, but as it dawned on me what had happened and how little she seemed to care, I didn't hide my frustration. Once she indicated that I would have to contact Angie's List to get a refund for the coupon, I hung up on her. But during the 5-10 minutes prior to that, there wasn't even a half-hearted "sorry for the invonvenience". Not only was their no acknowledgement of the mistake, but she actually said "Well, the appointment would have been canceled anyway because it is too cold outside". I don't really care that the appointment would have been canceled, although I would have felt better had they actually called me or my tenant to actually cancel.

Everything went well and there isn't a story to tell except that my other company called me to schedule a spring inspection and when I told them the price I got through Angie's Big Deal, they said they couldn't beat that!

Their main goal was to go ahead and sell me a new heating and air conditioning system. They did not put Freon in like they said they would. They did not need a second opinion from someone else because they told me that we did not need Freon. They did not do such a good job. I got them through a special promotion through Angie’s List. I happened to do two furnaces at $65 apiece. It seemed like a good deal. I got two air conditioning things done. The service guys, although very cordial and nice, did not find any problems. I decided to get a second opinion. I found out that the service guy was supposed to include extra Freon if needed; they said it wasn’t needed, when in fact it was. The technician who had come from a different company put extra Freon in, and it made a significant difference. Within a day, they had a salesperson out who was trying to sell me $5000 to $10,000 worth of equipment. Their punctuality was very good. The previous people who had been doing the servicing would use a hose and water down the air conditioning units and clean them out, but they told me that it was not needed as we were on a rooftop deck. I would not use them in the future.

Very professional and on time. There was a miscommunication on the Angie's coupon deal. It only covered one unit and I have two at my house. The first time they came out the serviceman could not reach the AC units due to a fence. They sent another (younger) serviceman out the next week and he had no trouble. He check each unit inside and out. Was done in less than and hour.

These guys came through big-time for me, and they will be my go-to guys for heating & air conditioning needs in the future. About a month ago my a/c unit outside began to make a really loud noise and kept getting louder; it basically sounded like a helicopter. After a week or so I called All-Temp and they sent Rudy out. He noticed a dent on my a/c box; which meant that something heavy had probably been dropped on it and the fan got knocked out of balance. He could have sold me a new fan & motor that day if he wanted to, but instead made a solid effort to stabilize the existing fan & motor. He made me aware that it may not permanently solve the problem, but we both decided it was worth a try. He also cleaned & serviced the unit, adding freon (or whatever they add), etc. He took down all the info for my a/c unit and said if the fan became imbalanced again I should call and they could order a new one, which would take a few days. He was here for about two hours and the final cost was only $218. Just one funny note - Rudy wanted to differentiate my a/c unit from my neighbor's so I would know which one was mine, but went a little overboard marking it. (Rudy take it easy with the red marker! : ) All kidding aside though, Rudy did a great job. A few weeks later the a/c unit got loud again. Rudy had done a great job but the damaged fan simply was destined to eventually go off balance again, and it did. I called on a Saturday after their offices had closed, and was told I would hear back Monday morning. I didn't hear back in the morning so I called and they said they were trying to locate the parts. The weather was forecast to be 90+ degrees for that week, and I began to mentally prepare myself for being without a/c for several days. However All-Temp called me back around 1:30 that same (Monday) afternoon, said they had located the new fan and motor, and would be out that afternoon before 5:30 to install it! This time they sent Eric, who also did a great job. The only weird thing was that at first the new motor didn't work, and he said they gave him the wrong one but happened to have the right one in his truck. Not sure what happened there, but all I care about is that my a/c was working by 5:00. All-Temp really came through for me in the 90+ degree heat (and I'm sure if Eric hadn't had the right motor they would have still gotten the right one to me a.s.a.p.). Because of the minor motor mix-up, Eric was here for a couple hours, and the final cost (all parts & labor) was still only $395. I've been running my a/c since it was fixed (yesterday) and everything appears to be running smoothly so far. I never got estimates from any other companies, but the cost of the two service calls (and parts) both seemed very reasonable to me. Also I'd just like to point out that in addition to doing good work and coming through quickly in an emergency, these guys are also honest. Like I said, they could have sold me a new fan and motor on the first visit, but instead made every effort to fix the old one first. I definitely recommend All-Temp.

He was on time. He came in and did the job, cleaned out the filters. He was very professional and responsible.

Scheduled an appointment. Given 1 to 5 time. No contact from anyone until 4pm. Called they up and they said that maintenance person will be there in an hour. No one showed up in an hour. No call to keep me in informed. Upon callling again, was told that it may take another hour. Rescheduled for another day and finally they showed up. What was disppointing to me was not that they were very late. It was that they kept me uninformed.

The staff answering the phone was very polite and helpful even though I'm sure they were busy with the high temperature! I can't tell you how much this helped give a great impression. My AC worked somewhat intermittently so they were able to schedule me for the next day 1-5PM. I bought an Angies List big deal to pay for the service visit and they were very familiar with the deal and didn't give me any difficulties using it. On the the day of service, I didn't hear from the by 4:45 so I called them. The assured me they were still coming but were just running behind due to the high call volume with the heat. Again, they were polite and nice and it was HOT so I didn't mind the wait. About an hour later they called me just to let me know they were still coming. They were just getting ready to send the phones to the answering service and wanted me to know in case I tried to call again. They called again about 45 later to say the technician would be there in 30 minutes. He arrived within that time. He was polite and helpful answering questions. He checked the temperature of the air coming out of the vents and said it was very good and I shouldn't have an issue cooling. I told him about how the unit seems to work less well over time. He then inspected the condenser unit on the roof and the blower/coil in the basement. The freon level was perfect he said (which is what I thought may be my issue). The coil/blower was fine except he noticed a sensor that was supposed to be covered/insulated that was not. He fixed this issue and said it could be the cause of my issues. He checked the temperature inside again and we noted it was actually even cooler than before. Since then, the AC has worked great even through some of these 90+ degree days. I would definitely call them again.

Called all temp because the place that installed my unit failed to call me back. The technician (Marrro) was very knowalegble.. He explained what he was doing. Felt at ease .I am always aprehensive about having anyone come and do any repairs.I was ripped off in the past. Will call back if I need any other services

They are timely. I can call them and they would show up the same day. They do a very honest and very professional job. They really know what they're doing. I've been using them for many years for different projects. They are the first ones that I call whenever I need HVAC service.

They were prompt and they repaired the problem. My air conditioner works so I am happy. They were very responsive. I will use them again in the future.

I had a great experience from the first phone call to set up my appointment. It turns out that All Temp had originally installed the furnace and A/C unit back in 2002 - before we purchased the house. They had all the information needed already on file. They were able easily able to accommodate my schedule for the service appointment. The tech showed up on time and got right to work. Through the system check, we determined that my thermostat was not working properly. I had suspected this but now have confirmation. The tech showed me how to keep my A/C unit cleaned between service checks. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I called All Temp on a Wednesday afternoon and spoke with Mike. Who scheduled to be at my home the following day at a time that was convenient to my work schedule. He was there earlier than scheduled and quickly answered my questions. He suggested two paths I could take considering the system was old and no longer made. I choose to replace it all with current gen units and the work was scheduled for the following Monday. Work to start at 8:30 AM. The All Temp techs arrived at 8:28 AM and were very professional, friendly and responsive. They were 100% professional in all they did and I was very pleased with their technicians Salomon and Johnny. There were no surprises, no sticker shocks, no unplanned events, nothing. Just them doing the work and making sure we are ready for the summer heat.

All-Temp Chicagoland Heating & Air Conditioning has nothing I can dislike about them. The guy that comes out has done an excellent job. They are very careful about not making a mess. They are very knowledgeable. They make sure everything is ready to go for each season.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the service and would definitely use their services again.

Hadn't used All Temp before but because of their high rating and all the ads I had received from them, decided to give them a call. Steve, the first technician came out and tried to get the furnace to duplicate the problem but as luck would have it, couldn't. He checked the furnace over and said that the furnace was clean and in great shape for a 15-year old machine. Said to please call if it happened again. Two days later, mid-day, the furnace shut off again and after several tries to get it to restart, called again to have Steve come back. He wasn't available and other tech was sent. He opens up the furnace, checks a few things and tells me that the heat exchanger is cracked in four places, shuts off the gas and furnace and calls immediately for pricing and availability on the new furnace that should be installed right away since I would be without heat. He was rather shocked that I didn't agree to immediately drop a few thousand dollars and wanted to research my furnace options first. Did I understand that I would be without heat? Yes, but personally, don't buy anything under duress and just didn't buy it. Set up an appointment with their salesman to come that evening to go over what units they have that fit my needs and cost. No charge was made for this service call. Before he came, my records showed that the furnace had a 20-year warranty on the heat exchanger. The salesman reluctantly said they could order the heat exchanger ($800 part) but it would cost $1,105 for labor and 7-8 hours to install it. My safety was their main concern and in light of these costs and possibly future additional repairs, a new furnace was really the best option. Concerns noted and would calll with my decision the next day. Next day, called in another heating company to come out and check the furnace. They found nothing was wrong with the heat exchanger but did find that the control panel needed to be replaced, which they installed. Also confirmed what Steve had said that the furnace was in great shape, clean, and with the replaced control panel should give me years of future service. Furnace has operated like a charm ever since. All the safety features built into today's furnaces are wonderful but like all tech issues sometimes leaves us at the mercy of the heating industry. Cost of repair: far below cost of All Temp quote or new furnace. I did inform All Temp of the outcome and they not only stood firm that their tech was right but told me the exact location of where the crack on the heat exchange was (went from four to one) and said that most companies never check there so it was unlikely they had found the crack. The wanted me to permit the Owner and a Service Manager to come out and confirm their findings. I declined their offer based on the fact that the service tech who repaired the unit did throughly check the heat exchanger while diagnosing the various areas that could be causing the furnace to shut off. Plus at this point, I couldn't trust them near the furnace. I will not use nor recommend All Temp based on my experiences.

I am simply smitten with All Temp. Smitten! I've been using All Temp for several years, and I am so impressed with them every single time they come to my house. After being quite pleased when I used them for a furnace repair years ago, I joined their Discount Club, which basically means that you pay a flat fee (of I think $150) a year, and they come to you twice a year -- once for a furnace clean-up and inspection, and once for an AC clean-up and inspection. Also, when you're in the Discount Club, you get priority in emergency situations, which would come in handy if your furnace blew out in 10 degree weather. It's a pretty sweet deal, this Discount Club, and it forces me to keep up with the maintenance of my furnace and AC unit, which is good. All Temp calls me when it's time to schedule an appointment, and their receptionist is always very efficient, kind, and organized on the phone. They set up a window in which to come, and they have ALWAYS been there within the window, which, honestly, is rare for service providers. I have actually come to expect service providers to be late, but with All Temp, never fear! Not only are they punctual, they also call when they are on their way! Say what? Yes, you heard it! They call when they are on their way to tell you when they will arrive. THEN, sometimes they even call a second time if something is holding them up, or if they'll even be there two seconds after they said they would in that first phone call. It's amazing. And then they arrive. Every service provider that I've had from All Temp has been mannerly, thoughtful, and honest. They wipe their feet before they come in, they don't get frustrated if I forget to clean some of the junk out of my electrical closet before they come, and, most importantly, they treat me with respect. They have never spoken down to me (again, something I've come to expect from all the contractor dudes out there) and they always take the time to explain what they are doing and why they are doing it. They know my furnace is a piece of junk, and yet they do their best to repair all its little leaks and squeaks so that we can prolong its sad little life. They don't try to sell me a new thing, and they always tell me how much a repair is going to cost before they do it. And, they are all nice (and usually quite funny!) humans who are not gruff or annoyed. They are so great in every way. Thanks, All Temp.

For the diagnostics, they were very responsive. The technician was knowledgeable and provided me a lot of information related to my issue. He even provided me an estimate of what part replacement would cost vs whole unit replacement as my unit was headed towards its last leg. A few days after he visited, the unit died out on me so I had them back for a full replacement quote. The sales person was out the next day and was very professional and provided a lot of information regarding the potential work to be performed. Lost out due to price, but was very competitively priced compared to most others.

It went fantastic. They have great service and prices. They are very professional and courteous.

I will call on All Temp again and will request a service technician named, Kevin. He was prompt. His manner and work portrayed professionalism and confidence. It turned out to be a minor problem but he forsaw possible future problems and picked up on the dissatisfying work of the previous Sears repair. We also allowed him to do some additional preventive work on our humidifier that we were not aware of. He provided us with self-help tips, I'm glad we called All Temp and got Kevin.

Great service. Very thorough and professional. I have solar heating assist and they knew what to do to service there. Great professionalism and great price. Will definitely use them again.

Already having an idea on the cost of replacement I had three companies (Angies List) lined up in consideration for estimates. Since ALL TEMP was our current service provider I called them first in getting a 'load check' performed for our home and spoke with Ed Giese their "Indoor Comfort Specialist" in setting up an appointment. Ed came out on March 17, 2011 and we both agreed to stay with "Bryant" for quality, reliability and longevity. Discussion centered on two options for consideration in either deciding on a furnance/AC combo rated at either 90% or 95% efficency and having prices laid out for both for purchase and installation. Ed did a fine job in explaining the differences of the options and even threw in a 'condensate pump' for free! Based on my current knowledge of expected costs, the prices discussed, ALL TEMP's current service with us, and Ed's confidence I decided to forego any further estimates with any other installers. Discussion with the wife after Ed's visit led to an acceptance and scheduling of installation just over a week later. Mattew and Enrique showed up promptly on March 25, 2011 and work proceeded in fine fashion. Additionally to paint tarps we set up for these guys prior to arrival, they laid out tarps to cover the foot path they'd be using to reach the basement in performing their work. It was my idea that these guys were provided coffee and soft drinks as they may need and popping for a McDonalds lunch for them as well. The prior furnace area was not well laid out with copper tubing and electrical cords going everywhere. I was also worried how the duct work was going to look after hearing "cutting and pounding" during the eight hour period. Not wanting to bother these guys during their work I really didn't get the "full affect" of the finished job until the last hour. I couldn't believe how professionally their work had been done! New duct work neatly tied-in to old, organized copper piping and electrical cords, new condensate pump was neatly attached to furnance instead of sitting on the floor as the old unit...fantastic! A/C unit with its new pad and copper/electrical feeds organized in 'trades fashion'. I was ecstatic over the new furnace/AC installation and the organized manner in which installation was done! After a 'briefing' by Enrique on use of the new thermostat these two guys were on their way and I made sure to let them know how happy I was with their job. I'm glad I stayed with ALL TEMP!

I was able to get an appointment within a day for All Temp to check out my HVAC. The technician (Armando) called to tell me he was on his way and arrived on time. He was able to quickly diagnose a faulty part and had the same part in his truck. He and I also were able to discuss work recommended by my plumber to extend the pipe size for overflow water out of my hot water heater and/or the HVAC system. I would not hesitate in booking All Temp at a future date, they are a reliable and quality vendor.
