All Temp Heating & Air Conditioning

I purchased an Angies Deal for Central A/C Inspection, Cleaning & Tune-up, and received a follow up reminder within a day or two to set up an appointment. Al showed up exactly on time, and provided quick service as well as useful advice. Quick, clean, professional.

Crappy custom service, poor communication, no respect to custom at all. Custom to avoid! I have All Temp to replace the leaking cooling coil to fix the AC freon leak. It was based on their nice feedback on Angie's list but it turned to be a horrible experience. I have a scheduled installation with All-temp but when I called to confirm the appointment several days before the scheduled date, I was told them won't come due to the lack of communication between service dept. and installation dept. I have to wait for them to order the replacement unit. So they just wait there doing nothing and too busy to just give me a ring. Anyway, that left our family with infant without AC for a month in extremely hot summer day, with 3 digit temperature. The installation crew did a good job but the custom service at the service department is just a piece of joke. When I expressed my concern to the manager of the custom department for the delaying of the installation, he just kept repeating the same word again and again, saying there's nothing they can do. Finally, the cooling unit finally get installed but the summer was almost over. What should I say? Well, this is not the end of the story. This summer when I switched on AC and it blows out warm air. Their service staff told me I need more Freon AGAIN! Then when he made inquiries to the office, he was told that I have pending payment with them and they can't perform service. I have no idea of what they are talking about as I already made FULL payments to the service they performed in the past. At the end, it is too frustrate to deal with ALL-temp and I will need to find someone else to fix the leak in my AC system with the brand new cooling coil just installed last summer.

The technicians and the salesman were great.

All Temp was very straightforward about the state of my AC & Furnance when they came to check it. I knew they were both on their last legs, so I decided to replace both of them even though All Temps told me I might get one more year out of both. They were responsive and timely in providing me a competitve bid and getting the installation scheduled. The installers were on time and followed all of my building's rules about service elevators, loading docks, roof access, etc. They told me it would take about 8 hours, I think they finished in 6 hours. They were very helpful in walking me through how the new unit and the new thermostat work, where I can get filters and what I could expect from the warranty and the financing. I was quoted a drain pan, the installers did not know that and I did not realize there was no drain pan until I reviewed the completed installation. Also, the new thermostat is a different shape than my old one and they did not bring a mounting plate. I have been promised a new mounting plate to cover the hole in my wall and 2 free annual inspections to compensate for the drain pan. I am still waiting on the mounting plate and the email to confirm my free annual inspections, which I've been told are marked on my file. I'll provide updates when I have them. My UPDATE: They have sent me an email documenting my free service and they have installed the mountiing plate for my thermostat. It took me a while to get back to complete my review, but they were responsive to all my inquiries throughout the process and at the end of the day I was very happy with the service provided.

They investigated the compressor, the thermostat and the furnace and identified that there was a power supply issue at the furnace. It turned out to be a loose wire. Once he found that, then he couldn't get the blower to work (though it had previously) and then at one point he couldn't get anything to work. In the end, he resolved the situation in a timely manner.I was disappointed that he used the opportunity to try to sell me a new furnace. In a moment of weakness, he did sign me up for a one-year furnace/air conditioner maintenance service. I have no doubt when I see them in the fall for the furnace cleaning, I'm going to get another offer to buy a new furnace & compressor.

I am signed up for a service plan, where they do regular servicing. When he was out the last time he had to add coolant, which had just a small additional charge.

d We called All Temp to have a routine service check of our working central air conditioning, as part of our service contract with them. First let me repeat, our air was working fine. After messing with the condenser, the service guy showed us where the unit was not getting enough "juice," and would have to be replaced. He fast talked us into believing that our 14 year old unit was bad. Cost of a new condenser was in the range of $1700-$2200. That evening we spoke with relatives who had the same experience with All-Temp and they advised us to get a second opinion, that that had saved them when their a/c just needed Freon and an oiled fan. On their advice, we called All-Temp back the next day to ask for someone else to look at our unit. They were rude and insisted that if their serviceman told us we needed a new condenser, we could be assured it was true. We called a local a/c repair service and the man came out the same day (hottest day of the year), worked two hours and showed us where the previous repair guy had switched the wires for the capacitor so that the unit was only getting half the electricity it needed. He replaced the capacitor and now our system is working fine....just as it was before we called All Temp.Members, beware. It's our theory that their service reps get a commission on sales....admittedly, just a theory, but it seems like this happens all too often.

They come right on time and they were really great. We are happy with the services.

I scheduled the appointment a week and a half in advance. The woman who takes appointments for All Temp Chicago suggested the date and it worked for my schedule. I was actually surprised that they could come out that soon. I also asked them to send their proof of insurance to our association management which she said she'd do. Appointment window was from 8 am to 1 pm. On the morning of the appointment, which just happened to be the HOTTEST day of the year to date, I got a call from a technician asking when I had made the appointment. It seems that my appointment popping up on his schedule came as a last-minute addition and he was concerned because they had a lot that day. He asked if we could reschedule and I explained that I'd arranged to work from home just for this appointment. He was very courteous about it and told me that someone would be at my place before 1:00. 20 minutes later Ramon called to say he was on his way. Ramon arrived as stated and was great to work with. He was extremely polite and courteous. I showed him where the A/C unit was located and we coordinated to figure out exactly which unit was mine. The inspection took about 15 minutes. He assured me that everything was fine with the unit and my freon. He gave me some advice on what air filters I should be using and that was about that.

Don't use for water heaters - that's for sure!

The gentlemen that came out was great. They were honest and didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need. They did a good job.

- I called on a Saturday when I discovered the fan on the condenser wasn't working; it was the first weekend where it was not going to cool down at night so it was the first time I tried to use the air conditioning and discovered there was an issue. I had already used the units that cooled the first and second floors earlier in the season so I knew they were working. The woman at the answering service took down my information but I didn't get a call the following Monday so I followed up on Tuesday. Given the hot weekend, I expected they'd be busy and I was told no one could come out for 2 weeks but when I explained that one of units wasn't working at all, they gave me a higher priority and were able to schedule an appointment for Wednesday of the following week. - The serviceman came on time and checked out the unit with the issue first. He showed me that the fan was stuck and wouldn't even move which didn't surprise me because normally it would move on a windy day and it hadn't. He was able to get it to move and tested another part that he said sometimes goes bad when the fan has issues, but that part was working fine. He checked the air flow and temperature differences and told me things weren't working well. The condenser needed freon and the prices had gone up; the EPA is trying to get people to replace these old condensers. I knew I needed a new furnace and knew that a new condenser wasn't going to solve my problem so they sent out a salesman to evaluate the situation. - The serviceman worked on the other two units, cleaning them and checking the temperature difference and airflow. He was satisfied with the numbers. He was very professional and clean. He put on booties over his shoes whenever he came into the house. He patiently explained what he was measuring and the numbers he wanted to see on his gauges beforehand and then showed me the results. He told me to tell the salesman about the service charge for the third unit so that I would get that money credited toward the purchase of a new unit, should I decide to go that route. Otherwise he'd have to come back and add the freon. - The salesman explained the different options in terms of both air-conditioning and furnaces. I went with the strong air-conditioner since I was never comfortable on the top floor in hot weather and it ran non-stop. He then went through the options for the furnace and I opted for one that was more efficient but not more powerful given the old one was able to keep the upstairs comfortable without running all the time. I had a two-stage for the main floor but he explained that the variable one was more flexible and much quieter. Since the furnace was upstairs and so were the bedrooms, this was highly desirable -- the old one was very noisy. He ordered the new unit and scheduled the installation for Friday. He thought the existing humidifier could be used. - The installers showed up and replaced the old condenser. They tore out the old sheet metal, existing furnace and air-conditioning coils discovering that whoever installed the old unit had really messed it up blocking a portion of the vent in such a way that the air didn't really flow through the coils like it should but rather around the coils. It explained why my air flow was bad and why my air-conditioning never really worked well. The installer recommended I get a new humidifier as well and I called the salesman. I decided to go with a new one and he was going to try to get one out to the installers that day. It wouldn't be needed until the heating season but as long as the installers were there, he wanted them to do it. - The installers did an excellent job. They cleaned up after tearing out the old unit and before starting the installation of the new one. They had put down tarps so there would be no damage to any of the floors. Although the new humidifier couldn't be delivered before they finished, they did all the prep work so that it could be installed quickly at a later date and labeled where it should go. They explained how the new thermostat would work and wired it so no batteries are required. They took all the old parts and either boxed them up for trash pick up or hauled away the parts that could be reused or donated. They made it much easier to replace the air filter than the old set up and left me an extra filter to use when the time comes and so I'd know what to get when I needed a new one. All three of the installers were very nice, courteous and professional. - The humidifier has not been installed yet but I am confident All Temp will do so long before it is needed. The cost listed excludes the humidifier since I have paid for it yet; it does include the service of the other two units as well as the new unit. - As promised, my new condenser is very quiet; I can actually have a conversation near it without shouting. The unit upstairs is amazingly quiet and it doesn't run all day anymore. The thermostat is easy to program. The salesman said to program it so the fan runs on low; it uses very little power and makes the temperature more even on the whole floor. For the first time in all the years I have lived in my home, the upstairs is comfortable and the air-conditioner does not run all day on hot days while still not being able to keep up. This is especially great this summer with all the 90+ and 100+ days we've been having. I am so glad Alltemp solved my issue with the air-conditioning. My electric bill was definitely lower this summer even with the extremely hot summer we had. I compared my usage with last summer and during months where the average temperature was the same my monthly usage was lower. And I was comfortable. - I called to get my three furnaces checked and took advantage of another great deal. They installed the humidifier and hooked it up to the new thermostat. The new furnace and humidifier has been working great. It is extremely quiet. I used to have to turn up the volume on my TV when the old furnace ran and now it's so quiet, I hardly notice when it goes on. - Based on this experience, I would definitely recommend All Temp to anyone who needs service or a new furnace and/or air conditioner.

Technician Robert was one of the rudest people i've ever talked to. Extremely inpatient and beligerant when it came to answering questions about what was wrong with our A/C. Called All Temp to complain about hiim. Both ladies on the phone were very responsive and nice about it. They apologized and said they would send another technician, which they did. They sent Josh. What a difference! Very professional guy. He explained in detail everything that was wrong with our A/C. He said if the problem was no longer covered under our warranty he would be happy to come back and fix it for us. Josh and the other two ladies redeemed All Temp somewhat, but the bad experience still sticks out in our minds. We definitely would never use All Temps again.

I contacted three companies for quotes. All Temp was the second to respond. Matthew, the salesperson was very knowledgable and spent the needed time explaining their products, warranties and the utility company rebate program. He even did a comparison chart showing what my anticipated savings would be for energy and my pay back time frame. All Temps pricing and financing program were the best of the three, so we decided to use them. The installers were there when they said they would be. They were knowledgable and worked hard for the day and a half installation. Afterwards i had a few follow up questions and Matthew responded promptly with the information. Everyone was courteous and professional. I will definitely do business with them again.

I called at 4pm and the repair tech was over with in 25 minutes. He checked the temp of the air from several points in the house then went outside. he added 2lbs of freeon and cleaned the outdoor unit. he was friendly and knowledgeable

Well, I guess the above says it all...

They were going to come out on June 12th to do the tune-up. They called the day before because they were too busy with people who did not have any AC. Our AC was working fine. We called Angie's List to get a refund because we didn't need the service at this time. They were very professional. I would use them in the future.

I have used them before. I like they are very responsive and they will try to get you in if you need service right away. They are reasonably priced and professional. They don't do unnecessary work.

From my description above, this was a very good repair experience. I am very impressed with the workmanship, technical know-how and integrity of Eddie who represented All Temp in the field very well. The price was very fair and the service excellent. I will not think twice about who to call in the future for my A/C and heating needs. All Temp is the one.

I could not be more impressed with a company than I am with this one. The technician was ultra prompt, kind, thorough, informative - giving me great tips/insights on how best to use my furnace/ac with regards to efficiency and cost. I will be using them as my go-to heating and cooling guys in the future.

I had such a great experience with All Temp! Greg cam out today and helped us understand the system in our new house. We had zoned air/heat but was not sure how to use it. He was great! He cleaned the air conditioner and replaced our filters. He did a few other things like taping up a part of the furnance that was a nice touch. We signed up for the double service so they came and did the air conditioner today and will call us in the fall about our furnance.Very happy!!

They have had to come back several times to repair the system. It is working now so far. I give them a "B" overall.

I had not had cleaning/servicing done on the air conditioning unit in years and the unit is about 17 years old. Miguel did an excellent job and was extremely curteous. I would highly recommend All Temp to anyone and I am very happy to have someone I can trust to service my heating/air equipment in the future.

My central ac unit was blowing hot air and I was convinced that the condenser would have to be replaced. Armondo braved his way through the bees that were nesting near the unit and quickly determine the problem was a loose wire and not the condsener. He inspected and cleaned the unit, fixed the wire and made sure it was functioning properly. Armondo is the best ever! He did a great job and saved me money!
