I had a terrible experience with this company (NOTE they are also known as RC HVAC). The service tech was supposed to show up on Tuesday to fix my tenant's washing machine. He never showed up or called (I called the office four times and was told someone would call me back - no one did.) When I finally reached the assistant manager, Cindy, on Wednesday, she apologized and scheduled a serviceman to come out a few days later on Saturday. He never came out or called. When I called Cindy on Monday she apologized again (she said the service tech was in an automobile accident and that he had called me three times to say he wasn?t able to come; not true, he never called) and said a service tech would come out that day. The service tech, James, came out that afternoon, said the timer was not working, replaced it and left. My tenant called me 45 minutes after he left to say the washing machine wasn't working; same problem, the center piece wasn't moving to wash the clothes. I called the service tech, James, who got very indignant and insisted it was working when he left. I told him it was not working now. He agreed to come out at 9:00 a.m. the following morning, saying that my tenant "would be the first call of the day." I called my tenant at 10:00 a.m. and found out that James, the service tech, had not shown up or called. I called the office again and told Cindy I was going to find another company to repair this washing machine. There was no apology from her this time; she sounded annoyed that I was bothering her. I told Cindy I would not pay for the repair James had made because the washing machine still wasn't working. (By the way James called at 11:45 a.m. to say he was on his way to fix it; Cindy never called him to tell him not to come.) I also asked to speak to the manager or owner of the company. She refused, saying that I could only speak with her. I called another appliance repair company that morning, (Chicago Appliance Repair), who came out and said the timer was fine but that the release mechanism wasn't working. They fixed it and the washing machine worked just fine. My tenant went a week without being able to wash her clothes because their service tech didn't show up for either of the two scheduled appointment and then didn't figure out what was wrong with the washer to fix it properly. By the third phone call the office manager acted as if she couldn't care less about this problem. She actually told me, ?Don?t blame me, it?s not my fault.? I have two apartment buildings and used this company in the past six months to fix two ovens and clean and inspect three furnaces without any problem (using different service techs). I don't understand what went wrong here but I will not use them again for any service. They were incredibly inconsiderate and incompetent. Plus I spent $35.00 for a service call that I probably won?t get back.
Description of Work: Repair was to fix my tenant's washing machine. The agitator (the center piece) did not move when it was in the wash cycle.

This is the second time I've used them in a month. They fixed my tenant's oven. 1) They showed up on time and on a Sunday which was really nice because my tenant could be there to let them in. 2) They called before they came as I had asked so I knew they were coming. 3) They fixed it without having to come back a second time. 4) They were polite and cleaned up after they were done according to my tenant. I will definitely keep using them.

Terrible. When I tried to get the company back out to repair the cooler (under the warranty) they made 5 (yes FIVE!) separate appointments, for which only one of them (the first one) did they bother to even tell me that they would have to cancel, and all others they simply did not show, and did not call. They knew in each occasion I was taking off work to be able to accommodate the repair. When I grew weary of the empty promises to show up to repair the refrigerator and requested a refund for the repairs, they refused to return my calls. I have NEVER been so disrespected by a home service company at any time during my entire life. Unbelievable.
Description of Work: Wine cooler stopped cooling. Contractor inspected the cooler and said (with NO testing), that the compressor needed replacing and gave me a $600 estimate. Took the cooler away, and returned a week later with the cooler saying that "We saved you $100, we only had to change the filter and recharge the refrigerant!" 4 weeks later, the wined cooler stopped cooling.

A true life-saver. They came on Xmas Eve, charged me only their standard $35 service fee and fixed my oven in less than 30 min. They were the 2nd company I'd called after the 1st was 5 hours late & diagnosed a major problem on a 3-year old oven. They gave me an honest diagnosis of a simple burned-out igniter & fixed it with a part in their van. They saved me over $300 in unnecessary repairs and saved my Xmas meal. Don't let the unmarked van & leather jacket sway you. They could not be more professional. Felix and his partner were friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. They called to let me know they were running late (but still within the 2 hour window they'd given me & then again when they were on their way.) I cannot say enough good things about this company. I'd used them before for a washer repair & will use them as my only appliance repair source from now on.
