Air Duct Cleaning

I called them after receiving a coupon in the mail. The coupon specified all vents cleaned under negative pressure for $89.95. The two workers arrived within the specified time frame. I walked one of the men, "Dan," through the house to show him the location of the all of the vents. I pointed out the returns, and Dan told me that cleaning the returns would be an additional charge. Curious, I asked Dan how much of an additional cost it would be. Dan told me $40 per return. Since my house has six returns, this would mean an additional $240. Suddenly, the coupon's $89.95 price ballooned to $329. After voicing my concern at this exorbitant price, Dan said he would do it for a flat $300. I showed him the coupon again and pointed out that it stated all vents, and that there were no statements excluding the returns. Dan reiterated that the coupon did not cover the returns. I called the office and was told the same. I expressed my displeasure to the office for this clear attempt at a"bait-and-switch" ruse. While on the phone, Dan raised his voice to me repeating that the returns were not included. I then asked the men to leave.

Got a coupon in the mail. Checked them out a little. They came out as scheduled. Two men showed up, they explained what they were going to do. They checked the vents with a video monitor. They were absolutely packed. We called them for one service and expanded it with another packages. They did the returns as well as the feeds. They gave us a 20% discount with he coupon. They were very professional, but didn't do a good job cleaning up after themselves. They have you sign a form about the warranty after they do the work. When you sign the paper you're agreeing that everything went well, kinda negates the warranty at that point. They were trying to sell me additional equipment. We were quoted at $59 but ended up paying $305. Overall I was satisfied with the service at this point.

It was a horrible experience. I found them through a coupon flyer. They delayed me moving into my new home for 2 weeks, had to cancel the movers. I had to hire people to clean my whole house and re-do the duct work. I would never use them again. They ended up scratching my floors, blew dirt all over my home, and were very rude. When I attempted to contact them through phone, fax, and certified mail, they failed to respond. I am currently disputing the charges with my credit card company. My warning would be that if the company has no address of where they are located in your area, buyer beware. They seem to be travelers and do not care about the work they are doing. Be sure to look for a company with a local address.

AirCare called the home phone to talk about the special that they were offering and the services they were able to do for us for said price. They kept adding things on to the price. They originally stated that they would do the work for $59.99, when I got the bill at the end it was $500.00. They told me that they were going to scrub the vents before using their cleaning machine on it, they never did. I spoke to a woman on the phone when she called to make the appointments, I asked her if the machine was loud because my dad is sleeping and she told me no. When the men came they told me that the machine was going to be really loud. They were walking in and out of my house, I had to keep asking them to close the screen. They didn't wear anything over their shoes, when it came to clean up they weren't all that great. The men that came to my fathers home were trying to pick up my fathers nurse aide, they made her very uncomfortable. They were asking her inappropriate questions and being very unprofessional. One of the men was asking my dad if she had to give my him baths and other personal and unnecessary questions. When I was writing a check they told me to write one check to their business name for half of the money and to put the other half on a separate check, but to leave that check blank - I didn't leave it blank, I made that out to the same name. Before they left, I told them that they would need to come back another time to finish the work, they insisted that they were finished, but I knew that they weren't. I have been trying to contact them about coming out to my dads home to finish the work that they said they would do, I haven't been able to get ahold of them.

The service didn't work. They never went into the crawlspace, and they didn't do what the coupon said. I would never use them again.
