We pruchased a new house and received a home warranty as part of the sale. Our Bosch dishwasher worked fine for a few days and then it just no longer powered on. We called the home warranty company on a Friday to get someone out to service it. Problem #1: We didn't get a service person to commit to come out until the next Tuesday. Problem #2: When Tueday came around, after waiting for a few hours, we get a call from the technician that he is running late and would not be able to make it to our house that day. Lots of time wasted. The technician did say that he can come the following day (Wednesday) "first thing in the morning". Problem #3: Apparantly first thing in the morning means 10-11am. This is not first thing in the morning. Problem #4: We call at 9:30am on Wednesday to confirm when the technician will be arriving. He states asks us for the address of our house and how far it is from Chicago...Why does he not know where he is going or how long of drive it is. If he is leaving from Chicago, it will take at least 1 hour (with good traffic) to get to our house, more likely 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Why didn't the company scheduler plan for a different technician? Problem #5: The technicain said he would call when he leaves so that we have an approx idea of when he would arrive. 10:20 rolls around and no call. If he hasn't left yet, he isn't showing up until noon. He doesn't answer several of the calls from my wife, so I have to call from my number so that he actually picks up the phone. He tells me that the distance is too far and that he won't be coming! TWO DAYS no wasted!!! I have several more problems, but my hand is starting to hurt from typing. Bottom line is that this company can't even plan where their technicians are to be or to assign the right technicians to a specific area. They do not communicate well, and I verified that they are not certified to work on Bosch appliances. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY if you value your appliances and you value your time.
Description of Work: No services performed because the technicians did not show up twice!

I've had nothing but problems with an Ariston AWD121 Washer/Dryer combo. After the second time of this machine breaking down after it's repair I thought it was time to contact a new service company. The initial contact with this company was very pleasant. I've had this unit serviced twice prior to contacting Affordable Services Club Inc. and asked specifically if they serviced this brand. I was assured they did. They even said they would bring quotes of refurbished machines for me to look at should I feel the repair was not worth it. The appointment was set and I was looking to finally having a machine that worked. On the scheduled service day the appointment was set for a 2pm arrival time. I received a call from the technician at 1030am informing me that he would be arriving shortly. Unfortunately I was not prepared or available for such an early arrival. Ultimately after numerous phone calls a reschedule was not able to happen. I did appreciate the extensive efforts made by the call center to correct the mishap. Then out of the blue this morning a manager contacted me to see why the cancellation of service took place. She was extremely curteous. She apologized and said that she wanted to correct the problem. We rescheduled for an appointment between the hours of 1pm-3pm. Again I anxiously awaited the arrival of a service technician. I received a phone call at 2:30pm from a gentleman with a very heavy accent stating that he would be arriving shortly. It was very difficult to understand him due to the language barrier. At 3:15pm I received a phone call from the same gentleman stating that he has arrived. I went down to the door and greeted him without response. As I entered my house I took my shoes off yet he kept his on. Drenched with dripping black slush he stood on my hardwood floors thinking nothing of it. I begin to explain my woes with the unit. I told him that its been serviced twice before and it has been extremely hard to find a company that serviced this model/brand. Prior to him touching the machine I asked if he was familiar with this unit. The language barrier was extremely hard to cross. He laughed as he told me that, "I got ripped off because anyone can service machine. There are many of them downtown high rises." He opened the top and looked at me without action or a response. It was at this time I told him that prior it was a fuse issue. He tested the fuse and it was bad. He tested the thermostat and it was bad. He then called his manager on the phone and told him the situation and wrote down a few numbers on a piece of paper. He told me that it will be $350.00 to fix and that the part would take a couple of days to arrive. I've heard this before and expected nothing less. So I told him it wasn't worth fixing. I've already put that amount twice into this machine and I asked to see what he had for sale. Dumbfounded he looked and me and then crossed out $250.00 and wrote down $150.00 and told me thats what he'll fix it for. Again, in very broken English, he tells me that his manager doesn't have to know and he'll just fix it. He began to write up a receipt for the amount of $320.00 and insisted I put down a deposit. The pressure to give a deposit increased each time I refused. I couldn't believe it. I told him that he was supposed to bring a quote on refurbished machines for me to look at. His response was quick and harsh. " I don't have anything like that." I told him that I wasn't willing to put more money in the machine and I wasn't looking for a deal. I just wanted an honest repair. It was at this time the gentleman became extremely rude and scribbled out the $320.00 on the service receipt and wrote down "Labor $35.00." I was aware of the labor charge and was more than willing to pay it. I actually apologized for not going further with the work and thanked him for coming. He said nothing further as he stormed out the door. I called the company to inform them of my experience and the same woman I dealt with in the past was just as pleasant as before. She apologized and told me she would let the service manager know. So in closing my issues were not so much with the inability to repair the machine as it was with the lack of professionalism that their technician possessed. After he crossed out one price and told me that his manager wasn't going to know, I knew that this deal wasn't Kosher.
