They kept telling me there was nothing there. They said there was no blockage and there was nothing they could do. I had another company come out and find that tree roots had blocked the drain and they took care of it right away. I would not use this company again.

Although they completed the job in a quality manner, they were not very good about being punctual or managing my expectations about how long parts would take or when they had time to do the job. Also, I thought price for the job was expensive for what they did.

Responded promptly. Changed sink pipe but the sink is still leaking. Rodded main line draining to sewer to minimum level--unable to fully open line due to tree branches and other complications. Left things very dirty tracking to and from house. I am calling them to see if they will come back and fix the sink.

We called for emergency service on a Saturday morning because I assumed our regular plumber was not available. [This was wrong!] Action's plumber came, assessed problem as being in main drainage system even though use of sinks on upper floors resulted in no problems or symptoms, tried to unplug pipe [grease line] in basement, broke and removed clean out at bottom, bored hole in cast iron pipe, tried to bore another, said he couldn't get into it nor could he rod it out from either top or bottom. Stated necessary to replace cast iron pipe, use copper, return Sunday, price $1800.00. I signed, put down $900 deposit, he later called, could not get right pipe size, would come Monday AM. On Monday he came with pipe that looked very slightly off size to me, but made me uncomfortable enough to call my regular plumber who was extremely skeptical. I backed out with partial refund paying for 5 hours time. Regular plumber came next morning, entire job including repairs in basement pipe accomplished in less than an hour! However, Action's office had come through with full refund of $900 by afternoon of the day repair made by my regular plumber. Although the person they sent was not competent to handle the problem in this building [100 years old], the office was very reasonable in returning the full deposit [at least I think so since it was all done by credit card].

Punctual, professional.

This contractor got me through a very difficult plumbing nightmare by diagnosing the problem and taking effective action to solve it. They did take a very long time and many visits to solve it, which wouldn't have been so problematic if they were reliable about when they were showing up, but each time they arrived several hours later than they said they would. For this reason I would not recommend them for every day plumbing situations; however, if you have a major sewer situation, their work in the end is worth the aggravation of waiting for their arrival.

PROMPT RESPONSE TO MY PHONE CALL (HAD WATER POURING OUT TOP OF WATER HEATER; HAD TO PURCHASE NEW UNIT); OUTRAGEOUS PRICE FOR SIMPLE JOB THAT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN AN HOUR (AND ONLY TOOK 2, EVEN WITH LUNCH BREAK AND TRIP TO GET COMMON COPPER FITTINGS NOT CARRIED BY PLUMBER). PRICE QUOTED BY BIG BOX STORE WAS $69 FOR INSTALL; MAY NOT HAVE BEEN AS GOOD, BUT THIS WAS NOT 8+ TIMES BETTER! WILL NOT USE AGAIN. MADE CARPETS VERY DIRTY MOVING UNIT; DIDN'T ASK FOR ANYTHING TO COVER IT BEFORE DOING SO. LEFT KITCHEN FAUCET WITH LOW PRESSURE (REMOVED SMALL CLOG FROM HAND SET DUE TO TURNING MAIN BACK ON TOO QUICKLY, BUT DID NOTHING ABOUT LOW PRESSURE). SUSPECT THAT PIPES CONNECTING WATER HEATER TO COPPER PIPES COULD HAVE BEEN UNSCREWED AND REUSED, BUT EXTRA $100 WAS TACKED ON TO PRICE FOR ''PIPE WORK'' BECAUSE FITTINGS SUPPOSEDLY COULD NOT BE REUSED. I WAS OVER A BARREL BECAUSE I NEEDED REPAIR DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING AND COULD NOT GET MY USUAL PLUMBER.

THE PLUMBER ARRIVED WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME ESTABLISHED WHEN I MADE THE APPOINTMENT. HE CHECKED BOTH SETS OF PIPES TO DETERMINE WHAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE DID THE WORK QUICKLY, LESS THAN 90 MINUTES, AND NEATLY, ALTHOUGH I DID ANTICIPATE A BIG MESS AND PUT NEWSPAPERS UNDER ALL THE PIPES. HE ASKED FOR A SMALL BUCKET AND SOME PAPER TOWELS, TOO. HE CLEANED UP ONE AREA BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE NEXT. HE ALSO THOROUGHLY TESTED THE NEW PIPES FOR ANY LEAKAGE. WHEN HE FINISHED, I APOLOGIZED FOR ANY DOG HAIR HE MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN ON HIM -- I HAVE A SHEDDING AKITA -- AND HE SAID, THAT'S OKAY, I HAVE CATS. I DID NOT CALL AROUND FOR PRICES, BECAUSE MY NEIGHBOR RECOMMENDED ACTION, BUT I BELIEVE THE PRICE WAS FAIR FOR THE NUMBER OF PIPES REQUIRED, AND THE TIME HE SPENT. THIS WAS PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, BECAUSE I SUSPECTED THE PIPES WERE IN REALLY BAD SHAPE. HE DID SHOW ME THE OLD PIPES, AND THEY WERE ONE BUMP AWAY FROM RUPTURING.

COMPANY REP RESPONDED VERY QUICKLY, BUT DOWNHILL FROM THERE. HAD TO OPEN CITY WATER SHUT OFF VALVE, BUT HE STOOD THERE WHILE MY NEIGHBOR DID IT. ALSO HAD TO BAIL OUT WATER FROM THIS AREA, WAITED AND WATCHED WHILE MY NEIGHBOR DID THIS, TOO. WENT TO GET PARTS AND THEN WHEN HE RETURNED FOUND OUT HE DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH PARTS. AGAIN, MY NEIGHBOR LUCKILY HAD EXTRA AND THE PLUMBER USED THESE. IF MY NEIGHBOR HAD NOT BEEN THERE, I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN BIG TROUBLE. I WOULD RATHER HAVE PAID MY NEIGHBOR THE $700, INSTEAD OF THIS COMPANY.

I CALLED THEM AT TEN TO 9 THIS MORNING. THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE AT MY HOME IN ABOUT TWO HOURS. I CALLED THEM THREE HOURS LATER I WAS TOLD THEY WERE RUNNING ABOUT A LITTLE BEHIND. I CALLED BACK TWO HOURS LATER AND THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME EVERY CALLING THEM. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE.
